You should never upgrade that sweatshirt Dude...these sweatshirts are a dime a dozen at your local Goodwill...seriously... That said...I hear ya! I still got mine from the '94 season. Don't wear it that often (err...ever)...but I can't seem to part with it. I think the Goodwill glut is due to ol' blue hairs movin' on to the Memorial Stadium in the sky. Jus' wish they'd send their season tickets there too!

You are right about Penn State, they were #12, we were #22, and OSU was #25. Link This was for last year's recruiting class. There are no team rankings (at least for Rivals) yet this year. But a cursory look indicates we are currently 2nd behind OSU. Yea I was talking about this years class, and so far this year Penn State isnt even a blip on the radar, same goes for Michigan. Yeah...I noticed that too. I'm curious if that's a pattern for them? Recruiting late that is... As of right now I would say Indiana is in third. They already have 19 commits!

Here's a situation where the Big Ten network could pay off for us. Go to UCLA where the family can see some of your Pac 10 games late at night on ESPN....or the NU where a majority of games will be on the Big Ten network...hmmmm... I can see the advantages here.

My intent was to compare the 3 "hot-bed" states to the traditional Big 10 region. I would assume we will continue to recruit the "hot-bed" states and also begin to recruit the traditional Big 10 region slowly transitioning to more heavily recruit the midwest. I don't for a second believe we will ever stop recruiting in Texas...that would be...well...stupid...

So I've been thinking about how this move to the Big 10 will effect our Texas recruiting, as have many others...I think?! Anyway, being a numbers kinda' guy, I decided to just go take a look a the numbers to see just how "good" a recruiting source Texas is as it compares to the other potential recruiting sources good ol' NU might take advantage of now. Rivals recruiting database gives us the ability to search base on a number of different criteria. So I selected the three different "hot-bed" states (California, Florida and Texas) and the Midwest region, and then I searched for all of the listed recruits with a rival's rating greater than 5.4 (all 3 stars and above). I've listed the results below and they are "eye opening"...at least to me. I gotta' say...I'm not so worried about recruiting anymore. Yeah, yeah...I know...stars don't mean sh*t...but how else you gonna' analyze it? Not to be a naysayer...but... I remember in the mid to late 80's when poeple where calling for TO's head because he couldn't win the bowl games. I guess my point here is that there will always be those who feel they are serving a purpose by calling for firings. Not saying I agree...just sayin'...
