  1. Again, the call ultimately did not affect the game but I couldn't agree with you more. The OL had his arm wrapped around Ankrah's jersey. However, who knows if he would've made the tackle.
  2. Bout time to head out to the bars and make more mistakes than our defense. It's been fun, fellas.
  3. I regret to inform y'all I did not possess the winning ticket. So there goes all my audio system improvement funds. On a serious note, does anyone remember the song used for the first couple of games in 07? It had a different beat but corny parachuting antics and voice from the Saw movies, I actually didn't mind the beat it had.
  4. When I win the powerball jackpot tonight, my first donation is to the athletic department to fix the horrendous audio system in the stadium.
  5. I'd say an 8, with some of the reasons mentioned above. Our schedule sets up beautifully for a potential undefeated season heading into the CCG. As someone mentioned, finalist will be determined by then and like another individual stated, as impressive as the stats are the team needs to be successful overall as well. I know there are abnormal cases, RG3, but if he performs like he has lately there is a great shot. I feel that our offense next year will be absolutely deadly, however Abdullah might steal some thunder. Your bet will pan out better than my Arkansas Razorback +8 1/2 on total wins!
  6. I've always wondered this? I've been to a couple Nebraska games where they handed out towels, but only black or white ones. Alabama hands out their shakers that are red, creating a "crimson tide". I think red towels would have a neat visual affect. It would play along well with a "sea of red". Just my 2 cents.
  7. Randy York mentioned something on twitter about fans receiving black towels. Link: http://tmblr.co/ZmFW4xVoNrHd
  8. I thought the most efficient play calling was when we would get those little yellow bean bags tossed at us consecutively. It always seemed to work out well. Ok, in all seriousness I didn't mind Beck's play calling I thought it was becoming progressively better from the UCLA game. However, Martinez still has that tendency to fall back to old form and lob passes to the flats or down the field - note key interceptions. I absolutely lost it when Martinez began arguing with Bo and Gantz on the sideline, the kid is arrogant as anyone and I want to know what his arguement was based on? Even if the receiver was suppose to run a different route, Martinez threw the ball with his purse and it looked more like a pop fly than a collegiate quarterback. Alright, I'm finished with my rant, I really think these next two weeks will be a blessing in disguise, Bo will whoop them into shape and we will go 6-0. The only game that scares me is Michigan. Other than that, I see an easy schedule ahead. Personally, I think Northwestern is overrated, but who knows. I hope everyone has had a chance to digress and realizes at the end of the day, we still have a shot to end up in a better position than last year.
  9. I'll be the first to admit after the first half, I thought our chances were slim to none. This is the first game in Bo's era that our second half adjustments were pertinent to a game winning change. I could not be prouder, however I thought it was all over going into half.
  10. Horrible call, should've been first and goal from the 1 yard line.
  11. Well your bookie must be happy.
  12. The reason Tom Osborne Field is not placed on the field anymore is due to Tom's request. In his typical, humbling personality Tom did not want an additional spotlight put on him. Not arguing for or against the #huskers, I do use twitter but will not be at a right state of mind come 7pm Saturday, but I was hoping to clarify why Tom's name isn't on there anymore.
  13. Although it was at the end of the play, I enjoyed when Kenny jumped over the Arkansas State bench/fence and motioned to the crowd. That kid seems to have his priorities in line, and truly enjoys the game of football, feeding off of the crowd. He is also humble, in an interview last year -can't remember which game - he was brushing off the questions, trying to have the interviewer talk to Stanely Jean-Baptiste instead.
  14. I just pray we come out of this game alive, and don't have to play on Fox until the B1G championship. The way our defense is playing, that is wishful thinking. I have faith that Bo will get them turned around.
  15. you aren't the only one, but it ain't over till the hot chick tells us its over It hasn't been a good day for me. Lost 2 of my parlays and I'm holding faith for this game to cover my losses. We shall see in the second half.
  16. You nailed it right on the head, take the bama Michigan line for example. With bovada, the line was set early at 14 points and as the week moved along and people placed bets for Michigan to cover, the line slightly moved down to 13 1/2 right before kickoff. Fortunately for me, I took bama and unlike Mayweather, I will not have to pay out $3 million.
  17. You know what I notice? It's pretty crazy how similar our stadium is beginning to look to the Shoe: It's funny that you mention that. The original construction of Memorial Stadium, in 1923, was modeled after Ohio Stadium. I'm not sure if you were insinuating that or not, if you were my apologizes for the sarcasm going right over my head.
  18. After reading the article on huskermax, the reason prince is getting hazed his second year is because of his broken foot, which resulted in him missing the first half of the season. None the less, I think what goes on in an NFL locker room should be taken with a grain of salt. These guys are merely joking around and now they are being scrutinized for "dangerous actions" and "hazing".
  19. well its kind of a wakeup call when you are a new member of a conference and have to deal with it on your first road game. I went up to the Michigan game, sure there are some a$$hole$, most of them were just the college kids when we went to party with them at 9 in the morning, but for the most part they were glad we were in the conference and i heard that hundreds of times. "Thanks for coming, see us again soon." "It's great to have a program like yours in our conference now." and much more. From what i heard, the things that went on in Maddison were equivilent or worse to a road trip to Missouri or Colorado. Playing devil's advocate, I believe one of the reasons for the discrepancy between visits to Ann Arbor and Madison might be in part to the time of the games. A, you have a night game in Madison, allowing students to do enough beer bongs, power hours, and other assortment of drinking games to become pretty lit, I mean, I know I was. B, Ann Arbor was an early day game, where most students were trying to fight the hangover from the previous night, unless of course it was a fraternity formal. Now, I am not saying the time difference is the ultimate reason for difference of atmospheres, however I do think that giving students the opportunity to drink all day would allow for a rowdier bunch. Again, I know many naysayers will not allow this to be any sort of justification, but Madison is known as a party school so obviously the alcohol might have something to do with the experience. Just look at some of the other examples on this board, 02 Penn State and 07 Virginia Tech, both night games and resulting in numerous negative experiences. It is exhausting for everyone involved on this post to continue to bicker back and forth, ultimately only upsetting the opposite parties more. At this point, it only makes sense to agree to disagree and move on, Jesus, is it football season yet? We did not play VT in 2007. I am sorry, that was my mistake. However, my point should've still been able to be understood, there are some hostile environments where night games are less favorable for the visiting fans experiences, compared to the day games.
  20. Aren't we all. Yitb Nice to know there are a couple other level headed individuals on this board now.
