We all saw a lot more out of Taylor Martinez and the offense than we were probably even hoping for. This is a very good sign. If the opponent has to respect his ability to throw (forget about that 70% crap) then they can't stck 8 in the box. If this keeps up we will move the ball on anyone. Defense is another thing entirely. They were very average at best. There was a huge number of missed tackles. This needs to change or the team is going to be average. I think it will turn around but this game was very disappointing on that side of the ball. Bottom line is if the D plays like they are capable and the offense continues, the Huskers are going to be TUFF! SUPERBUNNY

T-Mart has the ability to put up huge stats. Big IF though. 1. He has to be healthy and remain so. He's not big and with him running a lot it worries me. 2. I'm still worried he could flake out. I can handle getting beat if we leave it on the field and the better team prevails. What is so disgusting is how poorly Big Red has played today and barring an absolute miracle this thing is a final. That is why people from SD are blindful idiots about football. I can't count the number of times I've talked to people in Sioux Falls about college football and all they have to say are, "we can't wait for _____ ( insert jacks or yotes here) to get into a good Division 1 conference and make a run at a title. (What the hell?) The biggest thing to help south dakota football would be to merge the two state schools and move them to Sioux Falls. I know the conversation around SDSU has always been whether to move their home field to Sioux Falls in conjunction with a Howard Wood make over / another opportunity for Sanford to plaster their name on something. Wow, it kind of sounds like you are a bitter Avera employee who was asked to leave the state or something. You sure seem bitter about something. In the distant future isn't okay for a school to have an aspirational goal? A desire to continue to improve an grow? Also, a game was held in Sioux Falls and if Howard Wood gets a much-needed upgrade there may be again. SDSU's satadium is in the last ten years of being structurally sound so a new stadium will need to be built. There is no way it is in Sioux Falls. Simply bad information. If T. You must be from a different part of the state than I am. I haven't heard any Jacks fans talking about going down and "whipping the Huskers". Obviously, the start to the season has been horrible for the Jacks. we entered the season loosing a number of very good players which left a lot of question marks. So far, none have been answered and going into Memorial Stadium is a tough place to get answers. I happen to be a die hard Jackrabbit and Husker fan. The fact is that Nebraska should handle the Jacks pretty easily. Jackrabbit fans were optimistic coming into the year and have been looking forward to seeing how our team could do against a top FCS team and to experience gameday in Lincoln. We are still excited about the gameday experience but you could say that we are not feeling real good about the state of our team coming in. On a positive note, the Jackrabbit team and coaching staff is built with quality people much out of the mold us Husker fans will see. You will see a hard working bunch of kids that play with a lot of heart and will play with a lot of class. Many of our players dreamed of being Huskers weren't quite talented enough to get recruited and to them this game is a big deal. A chance to play in Memorial Stadium in front of the best fans in football. SDSU is the only team in the world that would get me to where something other than red in Memorial Stadium. I will be proud of the Jackrabbits no matter what the outcome because they will play the game the way it is meant to be played. Looking forward to being in Lincoln this weekend! Okay, I feel what you're putting down here. What's wrong with a couple of new rivalries? For me it kind of depends on how the conference will be aligned. Is there going to be an East and a West Division? If so, I think that Wisconsin would be a natural. They have the same colors. They are THE only school in their state like Nebraska. Iowa is obvious and I agree with it being Colorado II. Penn State is certainly a game I would circle on the calendar. SUPERBUNNY

Going to be a strange game for me because I'm a hardcore fan of both. My expectation is the Jacks will struggle mightily on offense. The Huskers are going to be rock solid on defense and the Jacks still have a lot of questions to answer. Plus, like others have mentioned, Nebraska is a completely different class of team than the Jacks or anyone that they have played. The Jacks defense should be a pretty strong bunch but if they are on the field a lot it isn't going to be pretty. The Jacks are very solid on special teams. I think Husker fans will appreciate the SDSU team and its staff. Coach Stieglemier is a quality guy right out of the Tom Osborne mold and his players would follow him into a burning building without any gear on. The team is hard working, smart, and very well-coached. This is a very big opportunity for SDSU and their fans. Many kids on the team had dreams of playing for the Huskers but didn't quite make the grade. They are very stoked to have the chance to play in Lincoln. I would expect a large turnout of Jackrabbit fans in Lincoln for the game. Of course, the Husker fan in me certainly isn't excited about seeing South Dakota State on the schedule. The non-conference schedule has to improve to the Pudeerson/Clownihan era. Not that an occasional FCS can't be on the schedule but there needs to be some bigger games to balance it out. Tough call for me. I may wear something other than red in the stadium for the first time in my life but believe me when I say my love for the Huskers is true! SUPERBUNNY

Jacks fans are really excited about coming to Lincoln next year. I would expect to see quite a few blue shirts in the crowd since I'm sure that there will be many Husker fans less than excited with this matchup. I'd hope to see 4-5,000 make the trip. Coach Stig is doing a great job. He has a character that reminds me a lot of Dr. Osborne. A real genuine fellow. Just a reminder to SDSU fans, make hotel reservations YESTERDAY!!! The "Great White Hope" Jerry Gdowski is right there. It's Frazier. Maybe had as good a command of his offense as any player in college regardles of style of offense. I agree with the new "more balanced" offense but I sure do miss the option. SUPERBUNNY

I hear where you are going with that but it didn't bother me as much. There were a few other games that deserved a lot more of the spotlight this week. Now, had we won, you would have heard a lot more about the "upset" that happened. Like it or not, Nebraska has never been "sexy" to the media and a Nebraska game against TTU definitely isn't going to spark their interest. Florda vs. LSU, Oklahoma vs. Texas are the matchups that draw the most press. When we were dominant we got the press and a Nebraska vs. OU game was always solid. Don't get me wrong, I love Nebraska and am a hardcore fan but we aren't a big draw to the majority of the country. Frankly, I prefer it that way. Keep the riffraf out! GBR! SUPERBUNNY

well if it's coaching, they may turn around a bit this season. or not. two coaching staffs, mostly the same kids... ...mostly the same results so far. granted it's early, only five games in. GO BO!!
