  1. You sound like Plaschke on Around the Horn the other night. I like to think that most of us here know that Rome wasn't built in a day, and most of the time football programs aren't rebuilt in one season. Cally went 4 years showing minimal improvement. So what if BC can recruit, all the talent in the world won't get you anywhere unless you can coach it. Barring an utter and complete meltdown, I'll give whoever comes in 4 years so breathe life into the 'Skers once again. I'm not gonna say you were never a Husker fan, I'm gonna take it one step further, you're a fair-weather fan. But what do my opinions matter in the grand scheme of things? Thank you, I'm done.
  2. My old FB coach used to have a saying "keep it simple stupid!" This could be our battle cry for the rest of the season. My coach was the same way. We would talk about running fancy offense & defensive schemes amongst the players early on & coach would tell us that until we got the basics (i.e. fundamental tackling, blocking, knowing assignments), we weren't ready to do stuff like that. Simplify the offense, simplify the defense, TEACH THE FUNDAMENTALS! LIGHT A F*ING FIRE UNDER THESE GUYS!
  3. SOOOOOOO Close, Grix almost came away with a big momentum turner there, then we give up a first
  4. This is a total load, same song, second verse. C'MON BLACKSHIRTS!! ATTACK SOME TIGGERS!!!
  5. We're telegraphing our plays too much, they know what we're running before we do. We need to shake things up. Coz's D schemes are interesting to say the least. GO BIG RED
  6. That last pick brings to mind my fav. Wayne's World scene. "I am the Leprechaun!" F*ing awesome!!!!
  7. I honestly thought that if any teams would go unbeaten this year they'd be OU & LSU, now, I'm saying nobody. This is a sign that parity has come to college football, just as it did to the NoFunLeague. The age of the dynasty is slowly coming to an end, I'm glad we had ours, and hope we see it again.
  8. Husker Nation is a melting pot of different cultures in different places. We're always happy to welcome new recruits, especially in Tejas. If you truly feel that NU is a team to root for, then do it. I moved to Wichita in Jan. Blow U & Gay State fans as far as the eye can see, but I've found some Huskers here to accompany me. You'll find yours down there, keep the faith brother.
  9. I wonder if they think that wearing U$C-like uni's will improve their performance? Regardless they still lack the "uniform" tradition of such great schools as NU, MU, PSU, etc.
  10. He'll try running a 2-linemen set, 5 linebackers & 4 DB's.
  11. I would be all over it if they weren't so overpriced. I'm probably just gonna take my chances in Lawrence.
  12. I, Micah, do hereby sign the HuskerBoard petition to fire the aforementioned Kevin Cosgrove as defensive Coordinator of the University of Nebraska Huskers. Also, my brother does too, or he would if he were a member, but he's not yet (pansy).
  13. IMHO it'll be a toss-up between Ganz & Witt. I've heard a lot of great stuff about Witt, but I think Ganz has earned his keep here, playing back-up for so long. He definitely knows the offense, and I think his experience will benefit the team greatly. GOOOOO BIIIIIIIIG REEEEEED!
  14. B) :spooners :funnyhahah:madash:ohnoes:hellloooo:boxosoap:w00t :asshat :backtotopic:bonez:corndance:laughpound:LOLtartar:nanalama:nutz:rant:violin I think I made my point!
  15. It looked to me like he had shared possession of the ball before 500 other guys piled on top. I thought it was a BS call, and I think the neighbor's got the jist of my frustrations.
  16. It varies from game to game, they'll broadcast it over the top of some of the news/talk stations that nobody ever listens to. Check their website, it should tell you.
  17. I liked the one that said "Herbstreit would have picked '07 Michigan"
  18. missed tackles are a direct reflection of coaching. Fundamentals have to be practiced every day. Getting the kid into position is only part of it. You have to teach him to break down and bring his hands. Jason Peter was talking (on whatever his show is called that he has on 1480) and was REALLY worked up about their not practicing in full pads until now, making fun, but also hopeful that this would really help. I think that their high tackles are a direct result, as you say, of their non-padded practices. They developed some nasty habits in that situation, it seems. I agree 100%. We came in ranked 3rd in the preseason my last year in college and the coaches were so afraid of anyone getting hurt that only the 2nd an-d 3rd teamers really practiced full pads and contact. Well we went from Desert Swarm to garbage with 9 returning starters. No pads and no real hitting killed us and we never really recovered. I couldn't have said it better myself. In HS the day after we got our pads (first week) we were running contact & tackling drills. The only days we weren't in full pads were Thurs. before game days. As a result we had a skilled defense that got us into the state finals. Our coach preached fundamentals first, then defensive schemes!!! We need a coach that does the same.
  19. I'm makin plans to be there. Hope to see Husker Nation out in full force! GO BIG RED
  20. I'll be listening on Huskers.com if i'm not at work. Iowa State will feel the wrath of an embittered Husker squad. We'll be out to prove something and Iowa $hit will be running scared by mid-way thru the 3rd quarter. Hopefully between them and Ball State we will regain some confidence heading down to Columbia.
  21. I believe that if you quit being a Husker fan, you were never one to begin with. I'll still sit here with my scarlet colored glasses on, even though I believe that changes are necessary. Hand me some of that Kool-Aid goodness as well Rob, cuz I'll drink it 'til i pee red. GO BIG RED!
  22. History has a tendency to repeat itself, and Coz's history speaks for itself. We need someone who can motivate his players, make proper adjustments, and STRESS THE FUNDAMENTALS!!! I'm sick of flying arm tackles and players out of position. There are many, many coaches out there who can do a much better job from HS to Pro. Start the search, it's time for the Blackshirts to find a new headman! I'm done now, thank you.

  24. I wish it were that easy, but methinks that as long as our teams are staying moderately competitive in most sports, then SP will remain. Our volleyball team is dominant, the baseball team was good, but they're sliding now, and basketball seems to be coming up. I'd love to see SP gone, and I'll do whatever it takes, within reason to accomplish that.
