  1. it was tough on the defesne. First game out, you tend to get tired quicker, especially if you are playing a team that ran no huddle alot. The times when they ran no huddle, they picked up a majority of their yards. Otherwise, good defensive effort. Flying to the ball. Didn't see too many folks outta position. 2 picks, could have been three. Overall, I am very happy with our effort. Yea, we can improve in areas, but damn we looked better than last year. So go easy on them. We knew FAU would move the ball. No touchdowns and some picks. That's good. We'll get better.
  2. Flag is flying boys!!! It's game time WOOT!
  3. I don't know if he was jawing in middle of the Boise State players. Looks to me like he was walking away. Game was over. Check the tape. What I do agree with you on is how he acted towards his own teammates. That pissed me off.
  4. It was definitely inexcusable for Blount to hit the other guy. But, damn I can't help to wonder what was said to him. In either case it really doesn't matter. Fact is, win with dignity, lose with pride. The one thing I hate about college football is how the fans get outta control. It's one thing to cheer for your team, it's another to go after the other team. Colorado fans are the worst. Maybe Boise State fans could have acted differently, who knows. But after all, it's part of the game. Our fans over the years may be a little "less rowdy", but that is what makes them the best fans in the country.
  5. better watch burkhead. He's a beast!

    Annoying

I agree the quality isn't very good. But I still get to see my huskers. I don't know if this has been posted but, is there any talk of having a Big 12 Network? I have seen the Big 10, the SEC signed a contract with CBS and I have seen the Mountain West with their own. Just curious
  8. I am pacing around the house. I went outside today, and I am seeing flags being put up throughout my neighborhood. It's that time baby!!!! I've seen LSU, OSU and Tech Flags. Should I put up the Nebraska Flag now?? Or, is it too early????
  9. Friend of mine from Omaha, just informed me we signed a contract to have a home at home series with Miami. Is this true?? I knew Jamrog was working on beefing up the schedule, but I wanted to know if anyone heard this one. And if this has already been posted, my apologies. Out
  10. I agree somewhat with what you are saying. But to me maybe the turning point was a new regime. In callahan's last year to team quit. We hit bottom. So, I don't think we are jumping up and down. Maybe cautiously optimistic.
  11. agreed. I just want this team to start busting heads, and I think they are very close. I really cannot wait to see the first game of the season to see the differences between this year and last year. Come on Sept. 5!!!!!
  12. I was at UNL during those same years as well... While I don't want to say what they did or did not get away with comparative to other times, I will concur that football players, and athletes in general, were pretty much given a free pass. Case in point, my friends and I had a party one night and some football players showed up and stole a frozen pizza, a bottle of vodka and a couple of shot glasses. We confronted them they said that stuff was theirs, we and they knew they were lying. And so, because none of us wanted the cops there we just let it slide. The rest of my time at UNL we had a "No Football Players" policy in effect. We wouldn't even let them into our house. So with one firm stroke, you painted every football player as bad. Makes sense. So you condone stealing? Makes sense. There were other previous incidents the one I recounted above was just the one that broke the camels back as it were. i don't condone anything.. You can't simply say every football player is bad. Keep cheering an buying jerseys!!! people like you make me sick.
  13. Good feedback.....Question....what would be the turning point? Beating VT? Or OU?
  14. Friends have asked me what my thoughts were on last year's season. I immediately talked about the intensity and effort from last year's team. We may not have had the best athletes, but we had solid effort. For the room....If you look back on last year, what game would you say helped the huskers get back on track? Or, do you think the huskers will continue to suffer from lopsided loses? (i.e. Oklahoma 08). To me, after the OU game, everything looked and felt a little different. Maybe I am drinking too much kool-aid. I honestly think we will upset VTech and OU. The team has bought into Pelini and they are starting to respond. Your thoughts.......
  15. Yep, Steve Emptman (sp). He was a beast at washington, and then when he got to the NFL, he kept blowing out his knews

  19. I do miss valentino's. 3 slices of pizza was an easy 5lbs extra around the waistline. Very dense, but boy was it good!
  20. Watson will be gone as soon as a good enough offer comes his way. To the earlier post, TO won championships by keeping all the coaches in place. He built a "program". That's why, year after year, we had 9 to 10 win seasons. He took care of the folks around him. I have the utmost respect for TO. I think the problem we are going to have for the next couple of years, is, as we continue to build our program back to the way it was, we will have some attrition with our coaches. I want some folks who will be here for years. Remember...Tenopir, Young, McBride, Brown, Samuel and Darlington. Those guys had tenure. That's what made our program great. And it all started at the top.
  21. Everyone take a long deep breath. Let's calm down, we are all husker fans here. Group hug?
  22. Born and raised in Texas. God's Country.
  23. Where is this coming from? 1. This is a message board where fans come and voice thier opinion. If you don't like the particular tone of a thread then don't post in it and/or ignore what's said. 2. Since CG was a Nebraska football player that automatically makes everything he does fodder for public discussion 3. What relevance do your comments have with regards to this thread? Nobody here in this thread has mentioned what happened previously with CG. In fact everybody here has congratulated Cody and wants to see him succeed and wishes him nothing but the best. In summary, I suggest it is you who needs to "back off." Will never back off. read my previous post. It was in reference to last year's accusations of this young man. I should have made it more clear. But fans who don't know squat spewing crap about a situation they know little about, is stupid.
  24. it was in reference to all the crap being spewed last year when glen got suspended. It wasn't referencing this particular thread
