I spoke with some die-hard TT fans this past week. And I mean die-hard!!! They all said that Tech could easily roll over, if the game is close in the second quarter. I have to admit, it's hard to believe. But, I have seen Tech over the years play down to their opponent. I am not predicting an upset, but...on second thought....I am. Gulp....more kool-aid please.

I don't get it. I have been trying to be the most positive person when it comes to our beloved team. However, I couldn't understand the formations we were running the other night. Why do we have to shift so much? Why can't we just line up and hit someone in the mouth? Am I missing something. Didn't Ozzie say you can wear teams down with running right at them. By the fourth quarter, they are mush. Question, do we need to revamp the offense and get back to basic blocking? I don't know. It' almost like we are out thinking ourselves. Line those big boys up front nose to nose and get after it. Just venting. The pass doesn't set up the run, it's the other way around....isn't it???

If it's true, then the player should be suspended. Period. But I can't wait for someone to lower the boom on this guy. He is just as cocky now as he was when he played with Southlake Carroll. SOMEONE HIT THIS GUY IN THE MOUTH!!! Within the rules of course.....

It's amazing to me how folks are already throwing in the towel. I have read numerous posts on how all these "armchair quarterbacks" would make adjustments. Give me a break. Hindsight is 20/20. Here is the reality of Nebraska football...... We are down and will be for a year or two. We don't have the talent right now to handle Mizzou, Tech and OU. We just don't. The Defense was getting shredded last year similar to what I have seen this year. But, we are playing hard. What we need to do is support this team no matter what. We have had a tough 4-5 years with Callahan. I still get fired up thinking how they ruined this program. But, we have to move on. To sit there and try and place blame, is pointless. We DON'T HAVE THE TALENT!!! I don't believe Mizzou has a good program. They have a good team right now. They will have their moment in the sun and then fade back into mediocrity. I remember Colorado winning the National Championship. They hadn't done sh*t since!!! Support the team. Quit complaining like you know football inside and out. And throw the bones!!! Enough said.

I have faith we will return to dominance. We had a weird chain of events. The impact Pedey and Callahan had on this program was catastrophic. They took and stepped on everything the program was about. The only thing that gives me solice is reflecting back on how many years it took OU to get it right. Remember these guys..Schnellenberger and Blake. OU was a joke for a few years before they got back on track. Funny thing is....Stoops and Pelini have similar coaching styles. Maybe we hit the nail this time. Thank God for Ozzie. If he didn't come back who knows where we would be. By the way...had a weird dream tonight. Mizzou scored 56, and we had 54. Now I can't sleep.

I don't really care about the records. But I will predict 7-5. If the effort is there, even with the mistakes, we will steal a big win somewhere down the line.

The dancing did look a little funny. But my point was, foolish or not, there was energy and the team looked as if they were having fun. In other words, enjoying what they were doing. Big contrast to last year. That's all.

I know everyone is reeling from the loss last nite. I damn near tackled the TV when taylor was running outside the pocket on that controversial play (late hit). But, the penalty could have gone either way. In that situation, Refs probably could have let that one go. But, like I said, either way. As for Bo getting the penalty. Hey, that's what we got when we hired him. He is emotional, has fire in his belly and wants to win....NOW! So, if he showed little restraint and cost the team, fine, I can handle that. It shows how passionate he is. I would rather have that than Callahan anytime. I have always tried to stay realistic about this season. I knew we had a long way to go. But, I have always felt that If the effort is there, we would win 7 to 9 games. Last night, the effort was there. We may have busted some coverages, missed a couple of tackles, blown blocking assignments and looked a little confused at times. Hell, Ganz looked rattled. BUT, we had 100% effort. I am very proud of these kids. Last year, VT would have hung 70 on us because we would have quit. Heck, almost pulled this one out. Things I learned....... Bo knows how to coach and motivate. How many times did we see sideline shots of him coaching up his players??? Now compare that to last year's staff. Our coaches a very emotional and it shows with our team. Plus, the team looks as if they are having fun. Who saw Helu and the crew dancing before the game??? How often did that happen last year??? Again, they are having fun. Did anyone notice how the commentators were really talking up Nebraska tradition?? I kept hearing,"they're getting better", "better effort", "this isn't the same team as last year". They were extremely positive about our program. All I could think about was how it would impact our recruiting. We got some good publicity. One more thing, the locker room shot blew me away!! Take note recruits!!! Nate Swift does not run a 5.0 in the 40 yard dash. I didn't see that one coming. He is a little faster than I thought. Helu needs to start at RB. It just seems like Lucky is hesitant and doesn't run as hard. Helu WANTED to get into that end zone last nite. Running styles are a different big time. Suh looks like a completely different player from last year. Hell, our defensive line looks a lot better. We still have work to do, but the effort is there. One thing that makes me nervous is our lack of depth. Injuries could really hurt us. Gotta fix those busts in the secondary. Taylor missed some wide open folks. Daniels will connect. It could get ugly if we don't tighten up. And last but not least, we need to fix our special teams!!! Sweet jesus!!! Kick-off coverage had me on the edge of my seat everytime. I didn't know if they were going to break a long return or block our kicks. We have got to fix that. Otherwise, I am not going to bash anyone on the team. I feel we are headed in the right direction. I can sleep at nite at not wake up feeling my neck being slashed. Bo will get this team ready to play week end and week out. This was a good game to see where we are as a team. We will only get better.

I agree with a lot of what is being said about our team. But, like everyone has said, "It's too early, and it's a new system". We have to flush out Callahan completely. Which means new players and new attitude. Some of these guys were recruited for a more finese type of system. For example, Lucky looks like a typical West Coast back. Catches the ball out of the backfield and read and react. Helu, looks like someone who wants contact. Much harder runner than Lucky. But, we got plenty of chicken littles on this board. As soon as something goes south, folks jump all over the team. How can any question the coaches this soon? It is early. There will be plenty of mistakes. It happens. I remember when Frazier was qb early on, people were ripping him because he couldn't pass. It was unjustified. Now look. Be happy we have some tough games AT HOME! If we can correct these mistakes, we will shock the world. I am telling you. Gotta have faith. TO is here, BO understands what it means to play defense. Heck, people at LSU were complaining about him during the season. All he did was bring home a National Championship. Be patient folks.
