  1. It's not allowed. But it would be interesting to see UNO/NU scrimmage. Having said that, anyone think UNO's coach, Berhns would be a decent Div 1 coach? He's done well at UNO. Not to say he's ready for NU...but I wonder...
  2. i can't see how anything good could come out of Parcells being at NU.
  3. The biggest thing I'd like to see is for the new OC to try to use the players he's got, and gradually recruit players to fit his system.
  4. Umm...He actually runs a 4.7, not sure where you got 5.0. In any case "Burst around the edge" speed is way different from a straight 40yd sprint. A lot more to do with agility and footwork. Here: http://www.huskerboard.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16360 I'm sorry, but 5.0 is slow for an edge pass rusher. I'm sick of the cosgrove mentality of having 3 DT's and one speed guy on the "open end". Carriker, as good fo a DE as he was, should have been a DT in college.
  5. Yes, it'd be his biggest win. Ironically it'd also come at a time when he won't be around much longer to enjoy it.
  6. Am I missing something? Simi Kuli runs a 5.0 40. Shouldn't he be a DT?
  7. It largely depends on what the new coach's schemes...but I agree...the talent is there--it just depends on if the new guy can use 'em or if he tries to bring in "his system".
  8. LOL....my dog loved that one. Her ears perked right up when he did the high pitched TD squeal.
  9. wow. paragraph breaks are your friend, dude. Having said that, I'd like to see some spread option, but not a traditional I formation power option game. I just don't know that a power option is going to succeed--especially with our players. But that's not to say that we can't throw in some aspects of it, and in the future mold the offense to the players. If in future years the players are there....run a little more of it. Or pass a little more if the personnel fits.
  10. Too bad he had to burn the redshirt in a dismal season.
  11. Sad to say, but I think they go 0-3 the rest of the year.
  12. I don't want a remake of solich canning his assistants and then getting one year...only to be fired after that year. I think it's best for everyone that we just make a clean break.
  13. I'm sick of finding moral victories in almost beating a downtrodden team that doesn't deserve the #17 ranking it has.
  14. that is why he is playing QB at UNC right now, right? oh yeah, he is playing wide reciever this year What type of offense does UNC run? I'm thinking that if he was in a kind of spread option, or option football where he threw 15-20 times a game he'd have been a lot better than what callahan tried to install.
  15. The best thing to do for the line is to get guys that will line up and just knock the #@%** out of the DL. I remember when Toniu Fonoti was a frosh. He'd go up to the line, and Raiola would just point to a DL and say "block him". None of the fancy "chip him and then go for the LB crap. It was "just knock him on his butt"
  16. I'm thinking with Michigan's turn-around, they won't be replacing Carr soon, and Les Miles is the Media's pick to replace him anyway. I still think Bo would choose NU over LSU. I hope he gets the chance to choose. Why do you think Pelini would choose NU over LSU? LSU is at or near the top now without having to rebuild. LSU is near or in a recruiting hotbed. While I think/hope Pelini would choose NU over A&M, I don't think he'll choose NU over LSU. to spite pedey?
  17. sounds so simple. let's hope TO agrees.
  18. With every career choice, certain talents or physical abilities are required. Nobody wants to see a 310 pound sasquatch of a stripper spin around a pole...and nobody wants to hear a guy that can't speak clearly doing television commentary. Yes, the guy has been fair with Nebraska, and I'm sure he's a nice guy, and knows his stuff...but it's just a fact that his speech gets in the way of the message.
  19. I repent. I was one of them that actually thought an updated offense and NFL coach was good. It's truly sad how far we've fallen.
  20. what exactly are you basing that opinion of pellini's recruiting skills on? Did you just pull it out of your azz or what? The guy's players love him. That would lead me to believe that he apparently can relate to kids (ie: good recruiter). Even if he doesn't have a lot of experience doing it, having a good recruiting coordinator and assistants that can recruit is good. Hell...even if he can recruit top 5 classes every year, we've seen that they hardly guarantee a good team.
  21. I miss those days. You just knew that they were going to kill just about anyone they'd play.

Honestly, it makes a case for all of them. Personally, I'd like to see Bo. Him getting Turner Gill to be OC/future HC would be gravy. Not that I doubt Gill's ability to do the job--I just would like Pellini to run the defense. I think Gill would maybe consider taking the OC job with the idea that he'd be HC in a few years when/if Pellini leaves. I view Pellini as someone that would not end his career at Nebraska.
