  1. By all rights it should be either the Omaha Mustangs, or The River City Raiders. Assuming of course, that the franchise could get the rights to one of those names.
  2. Let's face it...just about every team in the conference just picked up a new rivalry, whether they want it or not. UNL vs, IOwa, PSU, OSu, Wisc, or Michigan is going to be a big deal and get tons of media hype regardless of whatever. It comes down to brand. All of the schools are big name brands, so games between them are going to be important no matter what. And whoever loses one is going to have ammo for the ' they cheated,/ their fans sucks/ we got screwed when _____/ or whatever thing they grab onto and stoke the furnace for the next meeting. As longs as we stay (reasonably) nice to each other on a personal level, I say be what will be.
  3. I figure 3rd for us. GBR!!! I would have said 4th. Iowa looks kinda tough right now.PSU , OSU.... I like our chances against the rest, but the aforementioned 3 I'm not assuming anything about.
  4. Nebraska fans aren't the only ones voting in this.. Still I would have expected Ohio State to lead, even early on.
  5. grooving on our freedom from the evil Big 12!

  6. Well, Mr Pickens... I guess you won't be bringing any of your businesses here....or to lobby for support for your energy plans. After all...we only have 700,000 households. Obviously we have nothing to offer.. Anybody have a list of businesses this douchebag owns? Husker nation should boycott them.
  7. OOoooh, the Texas fans are UPSET about that. They want the game moved to a neutral Jerry world. They call that Neutral?
  8. Hopefully I'm the first to post this... believe it or not, so far Big Red is winning http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/rank?versionId=2&listId=660#topOfList
  9. They send gifts to new conference mates. How cool is that? :-)
  10. Hello Kansas, Kansas St, Iowa St, Missouri, Oklahoma and Oklahoma St WAKE UP I not sure we had all the card, I know OSU didn't, and ISU and KSU DEFINITELY had no cards to play. Wake up and what? The TV money for even place like Iowa State will likely more than double. I am not sure they are getting screwed, to be honest. THe fact is that Texas brings the most eyeballs. They make these little schools a lot more than they would get on their own, without Texas. I am not saying this makes Texas great, or generous, but ISU and Texas are far from being weighed in even. Actually, ISU is taking more than it's share given what they pring to the party, as is KSU and Baylor.... SO I doubt they gonna complain. As long as Texas doesn't decide to rob you. You'll get the percentage they agree to, but if they decide to only payout a certain amount less, then you get less. And unfortunately, as I've read in a number of article UT will control the network and the disbursement. After all they own it, they can agree to pay whatever they want for your TV rights. What are you going to do, say no? Think the conference office will protect you? UT will have absolute control, which means you're at the mercy of their generosity...which is one of the big reasons WE left. We want to control our own destiny. Every other school in the big twelve better start their own networks now and make UT pay big to put your teams on theirs. If you don't you might as well drop back to the FCS because 10 years from now you just wont matter in anything. If you apt to settle for what you get, you eventually won't get anything. Quit rolling over.

  12. depends on how many season tickets they think they can sell.
  13. HELL YES! Colowho? As I said elsewhere this is one of the reasons I'm dancing on the ceiling today. That stupid assumed "rivalry" was one of the tyhings that made me HATE the Big 12 with every ounce of soul I could muster. Now the BJ12 is dead. DEAD. And Thank GOD for it. No offense meant to CU fans, I never hated the Buffs, but I did hate the imposed rivalry. and the conference. I hope all of you are much happier in the PAC 10. For me, it all can just go away now. Sorry to not play KU and Mizzou and so forth, but so be it. Hopefully we see them as nonconference from time to time. I hope we can finally get OU as an annual game again. Other than that so be it. I think we'll have a great run in the Big Ten for the next several Decades. I like big Ten fans better than Big 12 fans overall, and it's very cool being in a league that has number 1,(Michigan) , #4 (Nebraska), #5 (Ohio State) and #6 (Penn State) All time in it. Very Cool. 4 of the top 7 all time teams. Make it 5 as soon as Notre Dame comes in. Or 4 of the top 5. Pretty amazing if you think about it. BHR
  14. What I want to know is who gives a damn? All I know is I don't have to put up with the texas schools or colorado anymore and that makes me happy. Or more to the point I don't have to put with with the B12 kneeling down to blow the texas schools everytime you turn around , or listen to any more crap about how we better just accept colorado as our rival. I don't really blame it on the teams, rather the athletic departments if that makes sense. We can still get Mizzou , Ku or Oklahoma as non conference games. Hopefully we get OU regularly. GOD it's nice to finally be free of the Texas Conference. Let Them play wherever they want. I don't care.
  15. If last year's game in Ames is any indication then Duke and Southern Miss should be able to handle you guys rather easily.... Meanwhile...back to the topic of your creampuff non-conference schedule....if Southern Miss is the best you can throw up as your premier defense. Well...that's just sad. Every team in the Big 12 is playing at least one marque team in the first four weeks: Baylor has Wake Forest Colorado has West Virginia Iowa State has Iowa Kansas State has UCLA Missouri has Illinois Nebraska has Virginia Tech Oklahoma has BYU OK State has Georgia A&M has Arkansas Texas and Texas Tech have each other You have Southern Miss as your big test of the non-conference schedule...a team that finished 3rd in the weak Eastern division of Conference USA and made a bowl game because (no offense to S.Miss fans) there are two many piddly bowl games and not enough teams with winning records to fill them. You're playing a non-conference schedule against four teams that finished with a combined 16-31 record last year! Over the last four years Kansas' opponents during the non-conference games have a total record of 78-112! You've only played 4...count em...4 teams during non-conference play that have finished their respective seasons with a winning record! You've only played 1 ranked team in non-conference play in the last 4 years (and you lost that one)! If that's not a creampuff scheduling job...especially for a team that wants to be considered as one of the elite teams in college football...I don't know what is. Heck...why even play the games? Just give Sam Houston State or UTEP some money to not show up and then invite Zig Ziegler to campus to give a motivational speech instead... daaaaammmnnn! that one hurt me!
  16. Ya can't hit a cop no matter who you are. Immaturity is not a defense. Off to jail with her.
  17. They're scaling back for economic reasons before they even play a single game? Not a good sign....
  18. He went to the World Football League and played for the San Antonio Wings. After that the BC Lions in the CFL. I think his whole pro career was like 7 years. Only threw 6 total TDs in the NFL (3 seasons). I have no idea what his stats were in the WFL or CFL.
  19. The rankings are for prestige. You can almost count on 1st, 2nd and 3rd being Notre Dame, Southern Cal and Michigan. Probably in that order too. Nebraska would probably be around 5th or 6th.
  20. As much as I loved Tagge, Gill and Frazier..If those are the criteria then it has to be Vince Ferragamo. Outstanding in College. Great team Leader and an incredible pro career including a Superbowl appearance- if memory serves me he was the starter. Also had a game in 1982 against the bears where he threw for over 500 yards. http://www.ramsusa.com/ferragamo.html
