The last two games the Huskers have showed HEART! Not saying that they are ready for blackshirts, or that we are a dominate team yet. In both games there were oppurtunities for them to quit, but they kept fighting! Way to go HUSKERS!!!!!

Bama Beta, welcome to the board. I live in SEC country! I do get tired of hearing how great the SEC is, but it is the truth. I guess the issue I have is with fans from lower tier SEC teams saying, "Well, we do play in the SEC"! BAH! I was at the U of A's game this past Saturday in Fayetville and was glad to see the Hogs get dismantled! ROLL TIDE! It seems to me the power shift occurred several years ago. Back when NU was making their NC runs. All I heard was how fast the SEC was. My argument was "Yeah, but the SEC doesn't play defense, they just try and outscore their opponents." Well, that has all changed now and I think the Big 12 are headed back to their defensive roots. Good Luck to Bama the reset of the year!

OK I have a question for all you football gurus. Most spread offenses are about timing, and throwing the ball to a certain place at a certain time. Why don't teams run more of a press type coverage to try and disrupt the timing. It puts your d backs closer to the line for run support and for disguising blitzes. I know that I get paid tons of money to coach on the D1 level, but I was just wondering why it isnt tried very often.

...yes, like we rolled over and quit against Ball State or Wake Forest. The real tests of whether or not this team will roll over and quit will come against the Missouri's and Texas Tech's, heck maybe even Virginia Tech. Yeah, just like Ball State where the wide open Ball State reciever dropped a for sure touchdown late in the 4th quarter.

Five hours until we head out for Lincoln. Heading to my Brothers place then leaving out early friday morning. What about Stienkuler? I thought he played well. Any other thoughts on him? I will say this, as a team they all "looked" more physically fit, and in better football shape! Good things are coming, it maybe a little while off, but good things are coming!

West had a good play in the 3rd I believe. Tiller threw the ball outside to his receiver and West recognized right away what was happening and jammed his receiver back into the other guy and busted up the play immediately. It was great. Soon as his receiver stopped moving forward, West ran up and busted his chops, pushing him back into the other guy. I think it wound up being a 2 or 3yd loss. Yes he did! Blew that play up! One thing I did notice was that West quit chasing a reciever down teh side line, remember? The one that Dillard caught from behind? I also think that Asante looked lost most of the time. Oh well, Hey at least at one point we had a team to minus yardage? When was the last time that happened? The Huskers were flying to the football! The secondary will get better!!!!

Unfortunately, I disagree with that, at least if taken at face value. Pelini himself said the players are just now starting to get things down. I'm guessing they've got a long ways to go before they'll be at the stage of having no problems. But we won't be seeing a defense that just totally falls apart, either. So if he meant that, it's another thing, but that's not my definition of no problems. I agree with you that we wont see them fall apart. I also bet we wont see defensive players giving half hearted efforts, and making feeble attempts to push opposing players out of bounds, failing to do so, and the opposing player go on to score and get to keep playing!!!!

4 days to go and I cant read enough, watch enough, or listen to enough about the Huskers. What are you feeling today? I am antsy, planning things to get done before Saturday, thinking that Saturday night kick off will never get here. Is it just me or do some of you have a kind of "Gaurded" optimism about Saturday. I SO want to think we are going to dominate in every aspect of the game, but the last few years have me cautious. Are these feeling normal or expected? What are the rest of you Husker fans thinking?
