  1. Oh baby...I live in Texas so this is extra fun for me. I'm in Longview, TX (anyone near by? we're having a party tomorrow). If we win: 1. Paint a giant N on my chest 2. Drive around this longhorns town standing up through the sunroof waiving my 2 3x5 ft husker flags, and showing off my new body paint 3. Drink more 4. I don't know how I got talked into this but a boise state friend of mine convinced me to agree to shave my legs if Nebraska wins....I know its backwards...deals a deal though. Any other ideas are welcome. What will you do?
  2. *********************************************** ACTUALLY STOP THE PRESS. THERE IS ONE ARTICLE THAT ACTUALLY SAYS NEBRASKA WILL WIN. http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/1041670...will-beat-Texas ***********************************************
  3. ? Geez whats up with the rude comment WCHusker I'm not from the Omaha area and if I posted a thread like this I'm sure hope that I would get a nice response with some helpful places to attend so I can watch the game and eat a good meal and drink some beer. agreed. not sure what the animosity is about. anyway, here's a link from this website of husker watch sites. There are 2 in omaha: http://www.huskerboard.com/mods/husker-watch-sites.htm
  4. you go to the game. bar tending jobs are a dime a dozen. nebraska in the big 12 championship is...almost never at this point.
  5. Honestly, could there be a better AD for nebraska? Could there? I don't think its possible, he's only the greatest football coach of all time, with a very gentile attitude that is going to ooze all over the program and make things just work.
  6. nice...I just ate at that boardwalk tonight. have to admit though...I pretty much decided shreveport is the scum of the earth. although over here in longview, tx its not much better
  7. for some reason I'm more worried about cu than ksu
  8. wow i'm really surprised no one knows where it comes from. This isn't an answer, but a little googling revealed this: "For as long as anyone can remember, the Huskers have touched a lucky horseshoe on their way from the locker room to the field. The horseshoe hangs above the double doors that open into the tunnel, and it has hung there since the South Stadium locker room opened before the 1973 season. Prior to 1973, during coach Bob Devaney’s tenure, the horseshoe hung above a door near the north locker room. When the team moved to its new air- conditioned quarters, players persuaded Coach Tom Osborne to allow them to relocate the horseshoe. Captains John Dutton and Daryl White hoisted teammate Bob Thornton, who put the horseshoe in its current place. Osborne, who had just succeeded Devaney as coach, agreed that the horseshoe should be moved. He wasn’t superstitious, he said, but he figured the players didn’t want UCLA, the opening-game opponent in 1973, to have the horseshoe’s luck. The Cornhuskers won, 40-13."
  9. I'm playing excellent in every area
  10. We're not worried...we post threads about everything under the sun on here. But...it is more of an off-season debate. Hell in the off season, this would probably be several pages long.
  11. I love it actually. shows some real spirit, although I can see both sides of the argument. All of my friends and I just love it when we see him pissed off and fired up.
  12. Seriously? You think nebraska football is just a game? Millions and millions of dollars invested. Coaches who are payed in seven digits, millions of fans across the country, hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars at stake during each game, and the pride and passion of an entire state...and you think its just a game!? The NFL is probably a game too huh? Even though its "professional". It is a game yes...but its not JUST a game. Its business. If it wasn't economically viable, no one would do it, just the sad facts. Husker football is more than a game. Just saying.
  13. Yep. He's the Mack Brown of the Big Ten. I was reading some of the fans are a little disgusted with him right now. They would be stupid to fire him. There are a bunch of other teams out there that would jump at the chance to hire him. And to keep this on topic with Husker Football...no...I don't see Bo jumping ship and going the Ohio St. I could however, see Watson being looked at for the HC job. No way wats could land a job like that as a first time HC...no way.
  14. If its within the conference...I cheer for the other team. If its outside of the conference on the national stage, I'm forced to cheer for B12 north. We have enough battles to deal with looking at the B12 south, not to mention outside of conference...
  15. I totally agree. There were moments of intensity, but for most of the game it seemed like they were just "getting by". I mean all the touchdowns we scored were stupid easy honestly. We won't get those against VT or even MU. It really wasn't quite what I wanted to see out there. Hopefully they were just thinking about next week (still inexcusable) and they really don't have that attitude from here on out.
  16. I can't believe people are actually commenting on this post (i say as I comment on the post). I would guess there are usually 6-7 of these EVERY SINGLE YEAR on here. The topic starter gets flamed for a while, some people decided black is really going to happen, and we end up with a semi-retarded looking crowd. Team color is read. Its called the sea of red. everyone is supposed to wear red...its a redout...just wear red.
  17. I'm in KC, might be able to make it if it really is an open invitation.
  18. I think it will look good. give it more of a big stadium feel
  19. Records ARE the whole story. I agree he was good ag recruiting, but that doesn't matter if you cant develop players. Everyone says, "look at his recruits going to the NFL...blah blah blah." the fact is, in football you don't expect highschoolers to make it in the NFL like in the NBA etc... they need to be developed in college. Callahan couldn't do that and thus produced pathetic college teams, and poor NFL recruits. but the bottom line is, it doesn't matter how good of a recruiter you if you can't do anything with those recruits (your record) then its worthless. callahan was worthless
  20. you watch that movie with the right people, and its unstopable funny. I almost crapped my pants when I saw the husker game too.
