  1. Is that the inception theme music? I love the video. That said, Washington's stadium is also quoted as "one of the most hostile environments". Washington is no A&M, but our offense made no "crowd-induced" mistakes there. I'm more worried that the huskers will play like they did vs ISU or Kansas. It all matters which Husker team shows up. There is no games to look forward to at this point, so I think we will be ready for A&M. This will be a fun one to watch.
  2. Bradr, that's tough, as your grandpa is obviously a loyal fan. At the same time, what has Nebraska came to? Someone resorts to calling the cops on these fans before asking them if they would sit? I'm glad the OP had a good time, regardless of the incident. Also, I don't think you should have to sit in the student section just to stand and cheer. Yeah, the student section is fun, but it's also drunk college idiots.
  3. That and our inability to bury teams like ISU and KU. Those games being close certainly do not help us. I find it hard to believe if those games were blow-outs, it would have made a difference. Sorry, with one loss, we're not going to jump any undefeated team. Simple as that.
  4. Um, at this point, I don't think we're playing well enough to even be upset at where we are placed in the polls. If we beat A&M, then I'll be expecting us to jump up in the polls.
  5. ISU should have beaten us. See what I did there. You can't base your vote on shouldas. Oregon has dominated all year. They got lucky last night. The polls don't really matter. As long as we don't lose, we are going to the fiesta bowl and playing PITT.
  6. It doesn't seem like our team is getting better. Every week you need to get better, and ours isn't. We seemed to play better at the start of the conference games. Texas wasn't really a bad game, besides the fact that our receivers had forgotten how to catch the ball. You turn the 5 drops or whatever it was into 1 to 2 drop passes, and we win that game. So: KSU:Dominated Texas: Wasn't bad, but not great. Catch the ball. OSU: Defense seemed not to play well, but Okie State has a pretty solid offense. Offense played solid that game. MIZZ: Only game so far that we set the tempo. Got ahead early. Struggled in the second half, but Zac Lee played alright. ISU: Weather conditions may have been a factor here. At one point, we were up 2 TD's, however short fields let them back into the game. Can't really blame that all on the defense. Kansas:People are upset with this game because it was supposed to be a blow out. It wasn't a blowout, but we never really gave them an opportunity to be in the game. There is definitely a problem somewhere, but for some reason we play down to our opponents. It could be a number of factors, including some that come back on the coaching staff. Maybe our scheme is based too much off of what our opponent does. Regardless, we are winning. You can be upset that we aren't dominating, and want to change that, however at this point we aren't losing. We are winning games. This could all change next week vs A&M, but for now, let's enjoy the victory, and hope the team plays well next week.
  7. The defense played well. There is no taking that away from them. However, I'm not going to start saying that this proves that the defense is great. Kansas is not good. A good offense would not likely have the same outcome. Still, I think we beat A&M. All year, we've played good teams great, and bad teams poorly. A&M is a good team. We'll likely play them well.
  8. All year, we've never set the pace. We've always played at our opponents level. As long as we keep getting the W's, it doesn't really matter.
  9. We always play down to our opponents. Why is it that everyone is surprised by this. Yeah it sucks, but it is what we ALWAYS DO!
  10. Sorry. Looks like you're options are 1.Buy it. 2.Goto the bar. 3.Radio.
  11. my roommate played the tunnel walk last week before he went to watch the game at his brothers. We got a noise complaint at 1:30 in the afternoon. Ridiculous.
  12. Sagarin says 1-8... edit: also the lowest 1A school is 0-10
  13. Well, you could watch it at a sportsbook. The only thing is that when watching husker games, I don't usually care about any other game going on. Ceasar's has a nice sportsbook, and so does MGM.
  14. Yep this was what I was going to say. Lose early and you catch a break. The system has been this way forever. It's called finishing strong and finding chemistry. So many voters kept Alabama high even though they lost...why? Because they believe Alabama was still a great football team. Freshman QB...first strong defensive opponent...7 point loss...we're not the same team we were 2 weeks ago. I think it's better losing early to catch a break than losing late to catch a break. Every football game, you should get better and better. It makes sense that you could have been a worse teaming losing early, and are now a better team.
  15. He's a sophomore. Guess what happens next year is Martinez goes down. Most likely we see Cody Green step in (unless we get another good recruit).
  16. Couldn't be more wrong. There is no "low ankle sprain". There is the high ankle sprain and the common ankle sprain. High ankle sprains are usually MORE severe than common ankle sprains. The ligaments that support greater forces are located higher up the ankle, thus the more pressure that is put on these ligaments with activities such as walking, running, etc. Typically, High Ankle sprains have minimal swelling and bruising compared to the common ankle sprain. Most of the time, the worse the sprain looks, typically the better it actually is. Yeah, that's weird, I know. On another note, I played football in high school, and injured my ankle early on in the season. I was glad that it was "just a sprain". My game was on Friday. Lucky, we had a bye week the next week, and I was on crutches all week, missing the whole week of practice (coach wasn't pleased). I started practicing next monday, but I can tell you I wasn't near ready to be. I pushed through the pain, however coach said he wanted me taking it easy. I didn't run routes (I was a TE), and I didn't do blocking drills. I didn't start running routes until the Thursday before the game, and coach could still tell I wasn't 100%. I got bumped to 2nd string for the game. Judging, I would say that I wasn't probably 100% for at least 6 weeks after the injury. However, for me the difference between 90% and 100% wasn't much, which I would say for TM is probably more significant.
  17. Missouri should have got the ball back... . . . On the kickoff!
  18. The TV's weren't even in Sync at the bars in Lincoln. This will only work for a handful of people I predict....
  19. yeah...let it go. All is not fair in football. We got the W, regardless!
  20. My only hope is that beating ISU will somehow negate our loss to Texas....
  21. I didn't think the article was that bad either. Yeah, it doesn't praise Nebraska. It's written by a Mizzou fan, I'm not expecting a lot of praise. And the man has a point on Gabbert not committing to UNL. With Callahan as the coach, can you blame him?
