  1. I don't know what state that DUI is in, but in Nebraska there is only DUI's. Also a DUI is not comparable to a traffic ticket. A traffic ticket is a traffic violation (not even a class V misdemeanor). DUI's have there own class, Class W, which has a lesser Max punishment then a Class III misdemeanor, however has a mandatory minimum of 7 days in jail. Comparing a DUI to a traffic ticket is like comparing a 100 dollar fine to jail time. On topic: I have a few questions about the hit. It appears he is trying to lead with his shoulders, however it also seems there is helmet contact. Now if he gets flagged for this play, would have have gotten suspended? I would agree that the suspension is unwarranted, however this isn't the NFL, so he can't be "fined" for the hit. I guess the decision has been made and no use crying over spilled milk. And as far as conspiracy goes, my only comment is that just because there intentions may have not been to harm Nebraska's personnel for a big game, doesn't mean that the decision to suspend him wasn't easier to make because of the circumstances, even if subconsciously.
  2. Did the OP watch the Mizzou/OU game? I was pretty buzzed by that point, but it looked like to me that Mizzou was able to move the ball on the ground pretty well. In all honesty, I think our defense needs to force the Mizzou offense to make some key mistakes (turnovers). Our rushing defense has yet to impress me this year, along with our pass rush. Let's face it, Okie state didn't play that well against us. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm very nervous about this game. There is a lot of pressure riding on it.
  3. How bout we beat mizzou first. Because if that doesn't happen, no Big XII game for us...
  4. Niles Paul is a stud, no question. However he is also a huge liability. He makes great moves as a receiver, however he also has problems HOLDING ONTO THE BALL! Whether that's dropping passes, punts, or fumbling it. If he would correct those issues, he would be amongst the greatest. I love his YACatch and YAContact though. He does a great job of making defenders miss and breaking tackles.
  5. Him getting benched was the wrong move. He made some bad reads, but he also had some fine throws. Had them passes been caught, he never would have been benched. So in the end, we're benching him for something that isn't his fault. If he makes the right reads like Lee did, he busts them for huge gains. Lee is good for 3-5 yards on the Zone read. Taylor turns those into Touchdowns...if he makes the right reads. Also, I found it easy to hate on Niles because of all the mistakes he made in the past, but I watched the game again (yeah, it was hard...kept hoping for a different outcome) and he actually had some good moves. There was a play where it was 3rd and long, Niles makes a catch behind the first down, breaks a tackle and busts it up field for another 10 yards. He had some key first down catches. One of his drop passes was thrown a little behind him, however I agree that he should have caught it. I think he would agree with that as well. The pass that went through his hands was actually well defended, again he should have caught it. I would say he takes a lot of flack from this game, but it really wasn't his worst game. I have seem far worse from Niles.
  6. I wonder what would have happened had we not switch QB's, and made the same play calls. It seemed like Zac Lee had some success with the zone-read, however a little bit quicker, and I think he could have busted some big plays. As long as we play lights out football the rest of the year and beat OU in the CCG, I will let Texas snark about this one.
  7. I agree...don't kick the onside. Chances of converting, slim. We needed to stop them either way, so field goal wasn't likely, however it does two things. It puts them in 4 down territory, or it gives them a nice short punt to pin us deep. Either way, I think we deserved to lose this game. We played terrible.
  8. You have to remember that texas is going to be well coached and well planned for this game. Like every team, they will get better throughout the season, and we can't expect that just because they had a terrible run defense against UCLA (a team they may have overlooked) doesn't mean they havn't fixed those problems. They only lost to OU by 8 points. They aren't terrible, we need to bring our A game.
  9. Ten mentions of last years CCG: OVER......easily Over/Under The amount of seconds that get added back to the clock throughout the game 1.5. Under I hope our home field advantage eliminates that problem Over/Under 31 yards average per kick return for Texas I'm going to say under, despite the fact that our special teams are lacking and UT hasn't been terrible on special teams (minus the bad kick). O/U Ticket Prices on gameday will be $100
  10. Saw this on another forum. Mac Brown Interview Honestly, this guy is a class act.
  11. Only problem is, they put nine in the box, not only are we going to pass on them all night, but with Helu and Martinez's speed, we'll be bouncing it outside all day. Can't WAIT for Saturday.
  12. I don't see how it's statistically unlikely. We're both great football teams. I would put money on it we will play texas again within the next 5 years (assuming the BCS doesn't implode by then). But yes, it has been said 1000 times, if we had an offense last year, we are national champions. Boo Hoo. It sucks to know that Suh being the great player that he is wasn't able to be part of a NE NC team. However, if we play like we did in the KSU game, only better, I feel like this year will be the year.
  13. Since we are undefeated at this point, we need to win this game because Texas sucks this year. A loss would be devastating. Not because they are Texas, but because they suck. I want to win every game this year, whether they are rank above us or below us. Every game is important, that's how college football is!
  14. I wouldn't bet on this game. I feel very uneasy about it. Hopefully our crowd can cause Texas to make a lot of mistakes.
  15. I see every game we have going two ways: 1. We get ahead early and force them to throw. Against our secondary, I don't see any team being able to dominate us through the air. 2. The game stays close/we get behind. In this case, bad things could happen.
  16. Did anyone else hear ol' Herbstreit on ESPN do the piece comparing Martinez and Denard Robinson? "I would give Denard Robinson more of an advantage, once he gets through that second level of a defense he's not going to be caught from behind." Herbie.... Link to video (on right side) Herbie: Comparing Martinez with Robinson http://espn.go.com/c...ska-cornhuskers Herbstreit says he would put Darron Thomas (of Oregon) ahead of both Martinez and Robinson. I'd post the double face palm pic but you get the picture. What is wrong with what he said? It is true that when Denard gets through the 2nd level, he will not be caught from behind. What is wrong with what he said??? I've seen both of these guys play. Martinez is easily the most explosive quarterback running wise in all of college football. I've seen Robinson get caught from behind several times this season on break away runs. Martinez? Umm, the guy flat out outruns entire defenses. Implying that only Robinson won't get caught from behind once he reaches the second level is flat out ridiculous. Really? Because KSU caught T-Mart from behind on a breakaway run on Thursday. I thought for sure he was going to score, but he ran out of gas and got caught. Rewatch that video. When Martinez is at the 23, the guy who tackles him is at the 30, and he doesn't catch him until KSU's 35....And even then just gets him by the shoelaces (irony). The deep angle that guy was taking, he was bound to catch him. Martinez did the right thing, there was no cutback, everything was sealed off. That was just good angles by the KSU defense.
  17. Great minds must think alike because I was just thinking that we needed a revenge style video showing the 1 second, the field goal, and Bo getting pissed. I would have chosen more epic music for the beginning, but I enjoyed the highlights. I plan on making a pretty epic video after the Texas ass kicking this Saturday.
  18. Anyone know at what point in the game this was? I would love to make a higher quality version of it.
  19. Why do we need them to win?
  20. You would think it would be attributed to the Thursday game, but articles about expansion and iPads in the lockers...GBR
