I don't really worry about ESPN, they have not been terribly accurate so far. What with the Tubberville to AR, Miles to MI, and so forth. I am waiting for TO to go before the microphone and announce his choice. I will then support that choice.

He has all the appearance of a "discount" coaching hire. Yeah, but nothing about NU seems to be good according to most of your posts that I have read.... Take a chill, give the man a chance and remember, while not stellar, Solich was much, much better than what we had for the last 4 years.

No, what is being said is that till TO says BP is the HC it is just a rumor. It may be correct, but no one is corroborating it. We have no idea who their sources are, or how accurate. With all of the rumors that have gone around, many of us are waiting for TO to make the announcement before believing.

If it is true, it will be Nebraska's worst kept secret. No the worst kept secret was the return of TO to NU.

I remember times when my family would argue about whether TO should be kept as the HC because we did not win national titles. In the end it seemed that patience was a virtue, but a very trying one. Atleast, TO knew that if he did not post winning seasons he would lose his job, unlike the clown we just got rid of. I hope he makes the expectations very clear to the new coach - no sacrificing the season just because you have a style that doesn't work with the current team. Oh, and teach those boys how to tackle again.

If they dont have a source I'll laugh my a$$ off if TO hires Gill... Actually, I would laugh it is anyone other than Bo. Next week could be interesting, but I doubt ESPN knows what is going to happen, they are just guessing like everyone else.

What IBR seems to have missed is that there have been so many rumors over the last month that know "I have inside knowledge" story is credible anymore. I will admit I got snookered, I wish others would as well. The only time it will be fact is when TO announces it in a press conference and the new coach is introduced. Until then everything is rumor and hearsay. That includes the ESPN stories as well.

You will just have the typical "I told ya so" turds. You know the one's that have been signing in under 5 different user names predicting "their source has related to them" that Coach XXX will be the next HC. Hell, With all the different BS rumors, some are bound to get guess right! You're predicting that IBR is coming back then? I suspect IBR is here under a different name. It would be interesting to see what happens. We probably won't see him under IBR unless Bo is named HC.

I suspect TO wants to make sure and interview all top canidates for the HC job before making his decision. I take him at his word that nothing has been offered yet. I suspect that there are several interviews being conducted or that have been conducted this week with less fan fair. That may be why the Norfolk Iron plane blocked flight info, or the interviews could have been done by phone. I want Turner. I have wanted him as our head coach for over 4 years. But I will support whoever TO chooses.

It really does feel like musical chairs. Actually, I am beginning to be reminded of the "silly season" in Formula 1 racing. Drivers jumping from one manufacturer (team) to another with little rhyme(sp?) or reason. You need a score card just to keep track.

I'd rather not have a couple of disgruntled assistants going out to recruit. I think they'd do more harm than good. Ya, I think you're a little Pissed and you shouldn't be. Do you seriously want him out there talking to people? I sure as hell don't. These guys are both gone. If they were talking to recruits, I'd be pissed. Let them go away in peace. Coaches get paid all the time for not doing anything (hell, I had a friend who was a financial advisor, and he got paid 9 months severence for not transferring). It happens all the time.

If they will let me, I'll volunteer to be a mod for this forum! Will you? I think we have the same mindset -- a normal discussion of ALL the possibilities (hell, I'll even allow all the threads about some HS coach being the next HC of NE in, as long as it is not stupid). Works for me.

Actually, the Mods could just lock up the really moronic stories. I wish they would begin to do so, since as you noted, they will not let a discussion of the pros/cons of the possible choices in the main section. Originally, the idea of rumorville seemed to be to get the rumors of when BC would be canned off the main thread. Now we need to get the moronic stories about who heard what from whom locked up. The more intelligent speculation should be on who you want and why. IMHO.

Not till over 100 people vote. And even then it only counts if TO agrees. You call T.O. and I'll vote a few more times. If I had a line into TO I would be using it. As I found out earlier, my only "source" had no real info, so obviously, that is of no use. I just wanted to find out how everyone would vote. I was hoping more people would vote however.
