  1. Forde's a great writer and journalist. I wonder where he went to school?
  2. i honestly think "beamer ball" is one of the biggest myths in college football. Frank Beamer turned the program from nothing into a year in year out bowl team and won the Big East five times, sure, but come on, the biggest win this program has ever had was the 95 Sugar bowl against texas. Either beamer has maxed out as a coach or he's taken the hokies as far has he can possibly take them.
  3. See "Oklahoma Sooners" Yep, worked great against West Virginia's spread and TT spread. 3 teams, 3 different spreads. The term spread is so meaningless right now. MU uses a lot more movement from the QB, and the line uses more or less normal splits. TT the QB is a pure pocket guy, and the o line uses very wide splits. And WVU is a run spread, where the passes are mostly out of the read option. Actually, I think Mizzou's splits are wider then Texas Tech's
  4. Pat Forde, what a great journalist, probably the best on ESPN staff. Wonder where he went to school?

  6. There's no 'accused' part of it- they certainly DID pose nude for a gay porn site.
  7. what the f*ck? Not only are these rankings asinine, but they are factually incorrect about Missouri- the D returns 10 starters, not 8. the Carolina teams and Northwestern allow this list to speak for itself
  8. Kansas goes 8-5 and does not compete for North title Florida International (W) Louisiana Tech (W) @ South Florida (L) Sam Houston State (W) @ Iowa State (W) Colorado (W) @ Oklahoma (L) Texas Tech (L) Kansas State (W) @ Nebraska (W) Texas (L) @MISSOURI (L so bad it should count as 2)
  9. Oct 6, 2007 vs. Nebraska. 33 comp 47 att 401 yds 70.2% comp 2 TDs 0 INTS 155.92 passer rating 11 rushes 72 yards 6.5 average rush 2 TDs Career statistics 697 comp 1052 att 66.3% comp rate 8,004 yards passing (already how much brad smith had in his Mizzou career) 62 TDs 22 INTs with a passer rating of 145.75. If these stats had been attached to a kid named Joey Ganz this board would be proclaiming him as the second coming. Give Chase his due. EDIT: Name ONE Big 12 QB you would rather have than Chase
  10. Oh this is classic. I've got two sad words for you, beaker: JOCQUES CRAWFORD http://www.wreg.com/Global/story.asp?S=3951663 This kid: 1. coming out of high school did not qualify academically to attend Texas Tech. 2. Attends JuCo, and is recruited and signed by mangino, despite knowledge of this crime.
  11. http://www1.ncaa.org/eprise/main/playingru...BGameReport.pdf scroll down, second page, left side. note "illegally kicking ball" as an extant foul.
  12. A player may NOT kick a ball. Should have been a 15 yarder
  13. Missouri-Nebraska 1997 Frost throws to Wiggins, Wiggins gets hit by Julian Jones. Wiggins kicks ball into air, davidson dives and catches it. No call on kicking the ball.
  14. I voted twice. First for kU, then I cast my second vote for nebraska. A lot of you are mystified as to why anyone would vote that way, and I'll try to shed some light on that decision. The kansas vote was easy, I hate them and they hate me. The nebraska vote is not because of colorado style drunken abuse, its because of arrogance. A few of the responses in this thread are pretty representative of that. examples: Or maybe its because of the superior attitude showcased here. This really should be pretty self-explanatory. Other programs are jealous of nebraska. This is exactly the kind of self serving arrogance that just sends me around the bend. Later from the same post: kansas University is where the vast majority of Mizzou votes are going. What really kills me is the "greatest fans in college football" BS. Just because you didn't key my car doesn't make you great, and smugly bragging about not urine-bombing me does not make you better fans, it makes you just as bad but in a different way.
  15. Can we just let the Blaine discussion go away once and for all? Dude's going to Mizzou, thats it.
  16. This may just be the Mizzou homer in me, but I think that Will commits to Mizzou on tuesday because he has actually set a decision date. He's still committed to nu, so why come out on tuesday and announce "YEP! STILL COMMITTED!"
  17. I never did because no one keeps their word anymore. Signing day just needs to get here. I think it's less about keeping their word and more about committing and then the university fires the coach you committed to play for. Nebraska changed the ground rules. Not too many kids de-commit when the coaching staff remains stable. And these de-commits start to have a snowball effect.... Compton was pals with Gabbert and Jonas Gray, and they left. I expect Compton to stay at home in Missouri. If not, Champaign/Urbana isn't too far from his home. (Mizzou also got a committment today from Wes Kemp - WR from St. Louis who had previously committed to Wisconsin and a teammate, Munir Prince - RB/CB who's transferring from Notre Dame to Mizzou and will play the 2009 season. Good day for Mizzou football.) Here's my problem with Gabbert. He commits to us and then calls all of these recruits and gets them interested in NU right. Then he goes and decommits from NU after all these other guys have commited and then proceeds to call them and try and lure them away from NU. That ruined his rep with me. I really do not understand this... you're ok if he recruits for you, but it ruins his character if he does it for someone else? Dude just wants other good players around him. You don't understand?? He recruits people to go to a school then when he wants to leave cause HE is unhappy, then he wants to get everyone to follow. I'm really not sure why you think you can have it both ways. Please explain further... When gabbert committed to NU I thought to myself "i hope he doesn't convince any of our guys" not "how dare he!!!"

  19. naw, we can't be pissed at these guys. something happened in the recruiting process and someone else got to a bunch of these kids. something is terribly wrong right now with our recruiting and it is not likely to change this year. we will have to work through it. MU has a lot of momentum and they are being rewarded for it through the recruits they are getting. this is going to be a battle for sometime to come. what happened during the recruiting process is that the former staff stopped talking to the commits, while other coaches were telling them the good things about their school and the bad about NU's situation. They developed realationships with new coaches and had not formed them with our new coaching staff. i hold no ill feelings for anyone that decided to play elsewhere, and hope that they have good careers, and play well every game but 1 each year. if they dont want to be Huskers, then so be it. lets go find some that do There's the famed husker class i've been told about
