  1. Yes, Wagner did sound unhappy in his article. Callahan did hold some coaches back it seems. As long as we bring some former husker players/coaches back who know and respect the tradition I will be happy.
  2. He is finishing up an interview on am 590 right now
  3. on 590 they talked about Bo keeping Randy Jordan around. I would be against this decision. I don't know how much he had to do with rotation or if Callahan played a part in it, but I felt the management of playing time for the backs has been really poor the last 2 years. In 2006, Brandon Jackson was not the feature back until the middle/end of the season. If they would have started him and gave him more carries from the beginning he would have done even more for himself and the team. This year, the backs were never given the chance to get into a rhythm until the end of the season. We had a lot of good backs, but never gave one a chance to get into a rhythm. If you ask any productive back he will tell you that it takes a while to get into the rhythm of the game. If they keep getting rotated they can never get going and do not perform as well. I am a fan of using more than one back, but in spurts, you need to give guys a chance to succeed and I think Randy Jordan failed to do that. This was a long explanation but to make a long story short, I do not want Rand Jordan to be a part of the new staff.
  4. well I missed the topic posted earlier about this, sorry my mistake, but anymore information pleas post.
  5. Does anyone have a clue when they think Bo will announce his new staff. I am very anxious and excited to hear who he brings in and I am just curious how long it will take for him to assemble and announce his staff. I hope it is soon because they don't have much time to get out there and bring in some recruits and try to keep the ones we have.
  6. I think we will go 10-2 in the regular season. Losses to Virginia Tech and Oklahoma. I think we will be better towards the end of the season and get revenge and beat Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship and lose in the BCS bowl game. So that would put us at 11-3. This is really wishful thinking, but I think if Pelini brings in a good staff and gets the players to play with pride, this can happen. i can't wait until the spring game!!! GO HUSKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. I'd love to see him back in the family. I liked him as a commentator for ESPN, but him and Mark May, who I despise, did not get along so well. Bring him back and begin restoring the family back to the good ole' days.
  8. I sure hop Ron Brown comes back. I was involved in FCA in high school and have heard him speak a few times. He is a great person, motivator, and coach. He would be an unbelievable role model for the players and a great recruiter that parents would trust. I hope to see him on the sidelines next year!!!
  9. If there is anyway we can re-create my attached picture next year, that would be an awesome staff.
  10. It sounds to me that he will call the defensive plays but not be the D coordinator technically. He will hire a guy and let him coach but Pelini will be make the executive decisions when calling the plays.
  11. Does anyone know if the press conference will be televised? Or if it will be carried on any radio stations. If anyone knows please let me know.
  12. I have changed my mind only once. I was a Bo Pelini guy for a while and hoped somehow that he could bring Turner Gill along that would be the best situation. But, as I examine it more I want Turner Gill to be the next coach! He was a great player, great assistant coach, is a great head coach, and a great person. He is the perfect fit in my opinion. If I could chose anyone I would pick Mark Richt from Georgia. He has won consistently in the SEC and is a great guy and family man who was born in Omaha. But, realistically, Turner Gill is my choice.
  13. No way in hell. Why would we want someone who went 0-8 in conference play? Croom is the head coach of Mississippi State that just finished 7-5 and 4-4 in the conference I believe. Yes that is correct, Ed Orgeron is the head coach at Ole Miss who was fired this weekend after Croom's team came back from 14 down to beat Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl. Croom has done a good job at Mississippi St., but not good enough to be the next coach at Nebraska.
  14. Well i will be the first to reply to this one............I sure hope not!!! Their is no way that Tom would hire someone who was rejected from Arkansas!!!! They have never been a national powerhouse and their is no way he is coming to Nebraska. maybe he is just on a vist or ya never know maybe he will be hired as an assistant coach. But we will just wait and see.
  15. Wow, that is the way it should be!!!! These current players need to watch films like this of the former Blackshirts! They need to honor players like Trev Alberts, Mike Brown, Terrel Farley, The Peter bros, Grant Wistrom......the list goes on and on. if they can bring back the attitude and pride of the Blackshirts and this program, we will dominate once again!! GO HUSKERS!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I would be all for that!! That is the best of both worlds!!!
  17. 1.Turner Gill 2.Bo Pelini I think these are the best candidates for the job. I don't really have any other choices because I want to stay with someone with Nebraska ties. I am looking forward to the coming weeks.
  18. No matter who comes in we have to give him some time. But, no we are not looking for a national championship right away. I am looking for a 9 win season next year, and to consistently be in contention for the Big 12 title and a BCS bowl. I am optimistic but these are expectations as Husker fans we should have. i am excited for the future and ready to dominate once again.
  19. Wow no one is posting on this at all. So are they just going to announce him without firing Callahan?? Just curious. He is way too old, and also lucky he didn't have to play Nebraska in '97 or he wouldn't have had a national championshp.
  20. During the C1 state championship today Adrian Fiala mentioned the Insight.com bowl with Iowa being a potential opponent. That is of course if and I believe when we beat Colorado.
  21. My first home game at memorial Stadium was the Baylor game in 2000. I had just moved to Nebraska from Memphis and we really wanted to get to a game. My parents were from Nebraska but I was raised a husker in Tennessee. We actually ended up buying our tickets right before the game and it was a blessing in disguise. I have been to three or four games since then and we were in the stadium as soon as it opened up. But for this game we got in after the start of the first quarter. It was amazing to walk in and see a packed stadium full of red. It was one of the best experiences in my life. 59 points later my first home game was in the books and I will never forget it. Even though I was only 9, my first game ever was the "Miracle in Missouri" I will be telling my great grand children about that one! GO HUSKERS!!!!!!!!!!1
  22. I was thinking that Cosgrove should have been gone last year. The defense has not been worthy of Blackshirts since Cosgrove has been at the helm. I think if Callahan would have fired Cosgrove earlier and shown that he is making an effort to get better then he should have been given another chance. But, Callahan is showing loyalty to his friend and unfortunately that will cost both of them their jobs.
  23. Wow, that is horrible. That just puts a bad name on the true Husker fans. We may not all agree with the current coaching staff, but they deserve some respect, they are people too.
  24. wow, that is pretty harsh, but I have to admit I like it a lot. I do hope he has a job, but just not with the Huskers.
