  1. Who the hell is he gonna talk to at Kansas???? They don't have a coach.
  2. I posted this here hoping to get a quick response because I need one before 3 pm. I have tickets in one of the C300, club level, sections. Does anyone know how the seats run and which seats are closer to the aisle? I have seats 9-13. Thanks Also, I heard if you have seats in the club level sections you may have access to the bars in the stadium. Is this true, and if so, will we be able to buy alcohol to drink in the stadium?
  3. I was wondering about the tailgating parking passes. O.K. so they are designated for tailgating, but I see it says first come first serve. So, if you bought a tailgating parking pass is it possible you may not get a tailgating spot if you don't get there early enough?? Seems a little odd they can charge extra for them if they cannot guarantee you a spot. Any help and info will be appreciated. Thanks
  4. Good throwers first and foremost. They may be Dual-Threats so to speak but Watson has said in the past that they are looking for QB's that can execute the passing game. We haven't seen Cody Green really excel in this area yet, but he is just a Freshman and Watson wouldn't have recruited him if he didn't think Cody would excel in the passing game. I was wondering this too. We are struggling to find an identity on the offensive side of the ball this year, but it appears we don't have an identity when we are recruiting qb's. It is pretty much us taking the most talented guy we can get, and then building the offense around them. Sometimes that works (Texas with Vince Young) Sometimes it just doesn't look right (Pryor at OSU) It's always popular to pick the guy that nobody has seen, but I like Spano and I think he may end up surprising some people. hopefully Green can RS next year because we will have Spano, Lee, Washington, and Martinez ready to go. I really believe we want an offense like Texas has had this year. Basically, they run with backs only, the QB mainly throws, but if the QB needs to run he can and will. But, I really believe the kind of offense Texas runs is what we are looking to do eventually. So, you want a QB you can move, escape, move the pocket easily, and can run if it's there. However, the main thing the QB will be doing is throwing the ball. They just want to have a QB with that running threat to put more pressure on defenses, unlike Sam Keller. I feel the QB's we have recruited and are recruiting have shown good ability to throw the ball but are also mobile and can run if need be. See Texas, VT, Florida(more so last 2 years) QB's as of late.

  6. I have a couple friends like this too, but they do have tickets. They usually go to the game but leave the tailgating set up and other friends of ours sit out there for the game and watch it on TV or watch other games. But yes, very nice not having to worry about your own set up. Ya, I have no clue what parking would be for RV, buses, etc. I'm sure it depends on the lot and what not. I have been thinking about getting an inclosed trailer to take down and tailgate out of. I spose I would just have to buy another parking space for it is all, so I would say that may be the cheaper route than bringing an RV or bus and trying to get a space for it.
  7. Earlier??? That's only 1.5 weeks!! I'd say that's plenty early. The other guys we are on for LB are going to wait much later, and I really don't know of a LB out of High School we are on hard as well as them being High on us. I say in 1.5 weeks he's N.
  8. If you're gonna pay a couple thousand for a parking space, just pony up a a thousand for 2 or 3 seats(should be plenty to get into the stadium), then they will offer you a chance to pay for a parking pass to a husker lot which is only like $150/year. So do yourself a favor. Pony up the money for donation for tickets, so say $750 for 2 seats or $1000 for 3 seats, pay for the tickets which is ~$55/game for 7 or so home games, and $150 for parking pass. So: Donation(tax deduction) - $750 for 2 seats($375/seat) Tickets ~$770 for 2 seats($385/seat) if 7 home games Parking pass ~$150-200 for university lot Total ~$1670-1720 of which $750 is like 80% tax deductible if he wants a university spot for a camper or bus, hes not looking at anything remotely under $2 grand a year for a ticket package that will get him a spot like he wants. those spots are based on the donor point system, and its gonna take a membership to the touchdown club, or similar, minimum to snag one. touchdown club prolly wont even get him sniffing one until 10 years of paying up. oh, and he wants it NEXT year. better donate bigtime to get to the front of the line for two or three seats. even if all the stars aligned, he'd more than likely end up with a parking pass for a car out in lot 19 or 20, exactly where he stated he wanted to move from. Well, I speak from experience. I did it a couple years ago, and continue to because I want season tickets. Now, I paid enough to pretty much guarantee me the seats I wanted. But, I know a guy who donated only $200/seat for 2 seats side by side for season tickets this year and got them. He took a chance at how much it would take to get seats by only giving $200/seat but if he lost it he was willing to accept it. Now, they are in the nose bleeds in the south endzone, but he doesn't care. He just wanted to get season tickets for something he could afford every year. I didn't use the numbers above for an RV or motorhome spot, I was using just a standard tailgating spot. You can get tickets if you want them. There are still people in that stadium that get season tickets and have never donated or donate very, very little, so if you donate and get priority points you can bump them, and it may not take more than one donation. The reason the season ticket wait list is so long is because those are all people on there that just want season tickets without giving a donation. I'd say that someday in the future everyone who has season tickets in the stadium will all have given some sort of donation. It's not as hard as everyone thinks. Will it take some money? Ya. If you don't give enough will you maybe not get tickets? Maybe, but I still think there are seats left you can get with only a small donation. You really need to call the development office and talk to them. They gave me a fairly good idea what it would take for me to get seats around the area I wanted them without actually telling me. They aren't into divulging exactly, but they are into making as much money as possible so they want donors who will sign up to give year after year and will try to help.

  10. Ya, be a donor, get tickets, and usually not a problem getting a parking pass for one of the university lots for the year for a little bit of extra money.
  11. I thought maybe some of you may know what the best thing to do is. I am going to the Big 12 championship and will be staying in a hotel near the airport. Now I know that is still like 14 miles from the stadium. I was wondering if it would be best to drive out ourselves and tailgate or try to find a shuttle or taxi to take us out and back. Will it be a problem finding a taxi or shuttle before or after the game? Just looking to find if anyone knows what may be the best. Thanks in advance.
  12. Howard's Pantry. Roughly 48th and Normal. It's about $6. All you can eat breakfast buffet. Biscuits and gravy, waffles, pancakes, sausage, bacon, fruit, etc. etc. Head south on 48th street . . . you'll see it on your left. I actually went here recently, but I was very disappointed. I prefer Stauffers.
  13. Yes, illegal if he takes the gift himself. If they donate to the University and put a "Earmark Wink" on the gift then all is OK because the University would pay for the trip.
  14. Just gonna put it back in the mix, GO TO STAUFFER'S CAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have none of you on here ever eaten there?? Yes, it's a place you could drive by and never notice except the parking lot out in front of it is always packed full of cars and the place is full. Seriously though, if anyone ever gets the chance go there and eat, breakfast, lunch, dinner, whatever, it's homemade cooking and you will not be disappointed. So huskerjock, GO TO STAUFFER'S!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Does anyone remember the name of the recruit we were looking at who was out of Las Vegas. I think he had committed somewhere else, but then we offered and he was really interested and we had him send his transcripts or something because we were trying to decide if his credits would work for NU. I think he was a military son and had some classes he took in Germany that might not transfer over well. Actually I think his last name was Mack, maybe Jonathan Mack or something. What ever came of this?
  16. Alot of great places to eat breakfast. I think there are better places than the ones listed so far. Not a buffet but awesome homemade food. Best breakfast in lincoln. Stauffer's cafe and Pie Shoppe http://www.restaurantdb.net/restaurants/view-220011.html Hi-way Diner. Maybe second best breakfast in lincoln. Not buffet http://www.lincolnrestaurantguide.com/384816 There is a Denny's in Lincoln, out by the airport. I've ate there and it was good. http://www.restaurantdb.net/restaurant/dennys-lincoln Valentino's grand buffet is great for breakfast. Once again not sure if they have it on Saturday or only on sunday. Best one at 2701 S 70th St. I would seriously go to Stauffer's!!!!! Not buffet but large portions and awesome pie, breakfast is perfect too, because they will have alot of pie still left. They will have like 20 different kinds of pies to pick from and early they will hopefully not be out of the one you want.
  17. Is he really going to visit MU in december? I find it hard to believe because I don't see Bo liking that very much. That is why he tells recruits to wait and make sure the place is right for them, because once you commit they don't want you taking visits anywhere else. Anyone have any insight on this?
  18. Better than last year when he seemed to turn it off before he came out of the tunnel. Finally some aggresiveness and he gets beraded for it. You say he needs to learn when to turn it on and off, but he really just started to learn how to play like this this year so he is new to aggressiveness and I don't think he is sure when to turn it on or off. Cut the guy a little slack, I have never, never known him to be cheap player and he has made a mistake two games in a row so it looks worse. If he made a late hit in the first game and hadn't had one until this game know one would even be talking about it. Suh has had many, many more personal fouls than Asante and I don't hear anyone calling for his head.
  19. Do his assisstants or players have a huge problem with it? Is he like that all of the time? My guess is he gets into the game, a very competitive enviroment, and he hates to lose. I swear, there are some real cupcakes on this board. When I played ball in high school(I know, long time ago) our coaches were hard asses. We were held responsible for mistakes and yes we got yelled at, OMG. Then I got home and got yelled at by my dad. Then in a couple hours it was over and everyone forgot about it. My coaches back in high school are still people I talk to and consider friends, and I love my dad to death. It's football, it's competitive, and it's not for cupcakes. Other coaches get just as mad as Pelini does but Pelini's face just shows the anger more whereas other coaches can keep it off their faces, but believe me, it still comes out of their mouths. Please toughen up people!!!
  20. Hell if I know! I was wondering if miamihrrcns2001 has some knowledge since he gets some inside info. Come on Canes, prove to us again you do have inside info. Who's starting, esp at QB? Give us some love.
  21. But you can decrease your donation slightly after that first year, right? For example: 2010: $1000 2011: $800 2012: $800 etc... MAYBE... That is the big question, once you are in a set of seats it then becomes about points. If you have enough points to hold your seats and you give a little less the following year I think you will hold them. The site, and all the info I have been sent only states sustained donations, not necessarily the same every year. I am sure there are lots of people who give more one year, then pull back in harder times. Although if you made a huge swing, say give $10,000.00 one year to get really awesome seats then pulled back to giving $500, I am sure you will be moved at some point. This is something TO has not put a lot of light on, and the Development office isn't forthcoming nether. To be honest I would give at a lower amount, and if you have good year give a little more, build a nice bed of points then request an upgrade. Also since you get tickets you can only write off 80% of your donation You can decrease if you want but they will not guarantee you keep the seats you currently have. I was going to decrease my donation by $250/seat and they said if I did that I would be moved up like 45 rows, so I bucked up and paid the amount I had been for the past seasons, but I sure could use that extra money right now. F*ck this economy!!
  22. There is a lengthy waiting list. My guess is you can jump most of the line . . . but it would take substantially more than $500-$1,000. I'd contact the ticket office/athletic department and see if I could get a straight answer. I guy I know got season tix this year and only had to pay a donation of like $100-$150/seat for the year. That really isn't too bad in order to guarantee yourself tix. Now, his seats are way up high, but he doesn't care, just wanted to get in the stadium for sure for games(and also get a write off). People keep talking about long wait list for season tix, but those are just for people who don't want to be a donor and just want season tix for nothing. It's not that hard to get season tix if you donate enough, now that also determines on how many seats are available for your donation amount.
  23. I think he will choose to if he can. I really think when it comes down to it he will choose the NFL over a normal job.
  24. It's not that they just up and pick you, you , you. I'm sure they have told a couple kids they may have to greyshirt if needed, and I am betting Tyler Evans, Cotton, and Enunwa are possibilities for this. I really see Cotton being the best chance for GS and then Tyler Evans, however I believe there will be transfers/quitters where we can gain a few shollies.
  25. Yeah, I agree that if a couple of the kids you mentioned were to say they wanted N, we would HAVE to make room, and I also think a few kids on our current roster will transfer, maybe a RB Maybe the coaches felt pressure about the low number of recruits we had earlier and starting offering guys who were almost guarantee to say yes. Just a theory. You can quote me, "There will be greyshirts in this class. I can definitely see Cotton greyshirting already and if need be Tyler Evans, Ciante Evans, Quincy Enunwa could be others asked to greyshirt. There will be kids transferring/quitting that will open up schollies. We will definitely over-sign and wait for the shoes to drop. Then as kids transfer/quit those schollies will open up and we can give them to recruits instead of making them greyshirt."
