  1. Fake Bo Pelini ‏@FauxPelini 57m For those asking, we'll be making some subtle changes to this account going forward. We think you'll enjoy the new direction! #GoBigRed I hope this is just an April Fools joke.
  2. I think it's safe to say Bo is enjoying himself a little bit lately. Good for him, recruiting can be a grind
  3. I see what you did there... FWIW, Nebraska had ONE point off of 5 Penn State turnovers. I don't even want to know how many points they had off of our turnovers. 22. 22-1 pts off turnovers. Pathetic
  4. This just tells me that he gets what the expectations are and that he's not meeting them. This is a Bo PR move more than anything. If someone is worried that they will be looking for a job this is how they sound. He knows what expectations are and that he isn't meeting them. May be trying to make it sound like expectations are unrealistic and he is being treated unfairly. Makes it look better than what is truly happening.
  5. Article from USA Today on Pelini. He doesn't make it sound like there is much continuity in the athletic department. http://www.usatoday....pelini/3646047/
  6. He makes some good points. What it comes down to is having athletes on the defensive side of the ball who can make plays. If you don't have them, doesn't really matter how good your scheme is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiXFvk16_Fg
  7. Pretty interesting take. Found the last couple sentences to be telling... "I find it admirable that all of his former players came to bat for him which tells me his players are really down for him regardless of what the perception is BUT not one of those players understood or understands the "Nebraska way." Not because they didn't want to but because it wasn't made available to them or maybe a little of both." http://jayforeman56.com/%22BO-Gate%22
  8. OR.... We're really good at developing QB's... Huh? Nah. It should be pretty evident to everyone that Kellogg is not suited for the job. He's obviously out of shape, and from everything he's shown (i.e. Spring Game, scrub duty) he should not be in position to start at quarterback for a major college football team. No way this guy would be the starter if he was on the other sideline Saturday. Nothing against the guy, sure he works hard and is living out a dream...but the competition can't be as close as the coaches say.
  9. I hope that no one picking RK3 is actually serious. There shouldn't be a question who starts this game. If RK3 is our next best QB then we have some real development issues. Shouldn't even be a contest. Let's hope the coaches are just using coach speak about both being 'right there.'
  10. how do you know this? it just seems a mix of your perception and what you want to believe. What next are you going to tell me the Easter Bunny doesn't exsist? Give me a break. Not sure why people on message boards have to have the attitude of a young child. Someone knows something that you don't know. Get over it. Find some way to get the inside info that you so desperately desire. I'm not here starting rumors, just stating facts. Never promised anything, just giving an update on the state of the program and the feelings of the man who coaches the team that we both follow. Funny how some people feel it is so impossible to have sources close to the program. Just because you don't doesn't mean that no one else can. This isn't info coming from the President of the United States, this is a state university football program. Some things are fairly public to those around the program.
  11. Facts are facts people. No one has stated that Pelini has accepted another job, will accept another job, will ever leave Nebraska, or anything of the sort. But the facts are that Pelini is having a tough time being the leader of this program right now. That means nothing other than what it says. Each and every day there are people out there who are not happy with the job they are in, don't like the culture or situation at their job. Being a head football coach is no different. I don't know why it has to be so hard to believe that someone isn't as happy as many would hope or believe them to be. Sure, some of it is because there are many out there who live their lives based on this football program, and try to create a story out of something so small. But the fact of the matter is life isn't as Pelini would like it in Lincoln right now. END OF STORY!
  12. Know people at the University. I'm not guaranteeing he leave, doesn't leave, whatever. Sometimes when you want out, if you can't find anything better you will stay where you are. I'm a Bo guy, believe he can get it done. But it has been made obvious to people around the program that if he can get out, he will.
  13. No need for people to act like idiots. Believe what you want. That's the beauty of boards like this. Pelini was in at Arkansas, offer pulled after the B1G championship game. Some may think it sounds ridiculous, but others reporting this are true. He just wants to get out of Lincoln and away from this program
  14. Bo wants out. Tried to tell everyone in a thread on the main board, got deleted. Oh well, not everyone can hear what's really going on with the program.
  15. It means we play man defense so when a safety misses a tackle there is no one left
  16. Sure, coaches like Nick Saban, Urban Meyer and Brian Kelly make a little bit of a difference when it comes to the way that their team performs on the field. But I guarantee you its not as much as they are given credit for. Players win games, players make plays. Last night, our defensive players did not make plays. It's as simple as that. It's not as if they weren't trying, I believe they gave great effort most of the first half. Bottom line is our defensive talent could not match what Wisconsin was running. We had guys in position to make tackles on each of those long runs, that's the coaches job...get players in position to make plays. They did that. Our players for whatever reason, (lack of focus, discipline, or just plain ability) did not make those plays. When Bo had several NFL players on his defense in '09 and '10 Nebraska was a top 5 defense nationally. We don't have those players now, that's all their is to it. Blame the coaches for lack of recruiting, but I believe recruiting is a big cycle...you won't have top level talent available every year especially in the Big 10, no school does. It's just facts. Bo has his deficiencies, but every coach does. Nick Saban freaks out on his players all the time, don't give me that crap about Pelini's attitude. He cares. He also takes the blame for his players not making plays like he did last night. That's the type of coach we want. One who will stand up for his players even when he knows that he did his job, they didn't do theirs. Let's look to the future, look at the talent we have gaining experience, and get excited about their opportunity to play in a great system and for a great defensive coach.
  17. Huge difference between a team full of 4 stars and some 5 stars (UCLA) and the team from Corvallis. Not saying Wisconsin won't push or even beat us, but their loss is definitely more of an eye-opener than our loss to the Bruins
  18. These coaches aren't dumb. We may disagree with some of the things they do, but they are not going to do this as a "last resort" type of solution. They know who they have as personnel and they know how to win. Bo knows what he's doing on defense, he isn't missing tackles and he isn't out of position on plays. You hear the players say it, they aren't executing.
  19. I'm very glad for him. I'm not saying we can offer every kid from Nebraska, that's not the point. My point is that we missed on a kid that in high school 50 miles down the road who had some legitimate athletic ability. Instead, we have guys on our team with much less ability out on the field. Just pointing out that talent is available to us. If he can play at Oregon he could definitely play for this team.
  20. We always hear about how little of talent there is in this state for football. Well when they are 50 miles down the road we better keep them here. Just showing that times have changed. Oregon's unique way of doing things was able to pull a kid out of the state where football is everything. Shows that kids looking at Nebraska don't see it the same way anymore.
  21. Very quietly the lanky 6'4 kid from Omaha Central is making a name for himself out in the Pacific Northwest. While he only has 4 catches this year, he has made enough of an impression on the coaches to stay atop the depth chart at WR for the Ducks. Hawkins wasn't a blue chip recruit out of high school, but anyone who saw him play or run track knew that this kid was an athlete. If he's good enough to start at WR for the #4 ranked team in the nation, not to mention an offense built on athleticism it is hard to think he couldn't be having an impact on either side of the ball for us this year. With his speed and athleticism I could see him fitting in very nicely in the peso. Tough to let a kid like this go from your own backyard. Oregon found a way to use and develop him, why can't we do the same?
  22. Agreed, this kid has an NFL type body. Just needs to learn the offense and he could become a star
  23. Colorado fans or K-State fans?
