  1. McWilson was recruited by Papuchis, so there's not a great correlation between Raymond leaving and him decommitting. Dixon may leave, but we got Aaron Curry when Kaz came over. So it goes.
  2. Early reports say Fonzie just ran a 4.51 40 at the Combine. Dion Caputi ‏ @nfldraftupdate Nice change of direction + catch from #Nebraska CB Alfonzo Dennard. Keeps a low base. Dion Caputi ‏ @nfldraftupdate #Nebraska CB Alfonzo Dennard was a little stiff earlier but short-area acceleration and movement is real nice. Ideal zone-cover guy.
  3. I think your wish is unlikely to come true. Top-notch coaches are going to be in demand. If we have coaches that other teams don't want, that's a problem. The idea of coaches just staying here forever, or for most of their career, is probably over, too. Most teams don't keep their coaches around this long. The business of coaching has dramatically changed since we had long-term assistants under Osborne. It's doubtful we'll have anything remotely like that ever again. Heck - honest opinion, I doubt Bo is here in ten years.
  4. List of things for which there is no proof that they are real or not real: God Allah Flying Spaghetti Monster Manwë Unicorns G-Spot Nick Saban's integrity The Big Bang Note - list is not all-inclusive.
  5. Yes, I would give it back. But then, I would have told them that I wasn't my twin brother, that he wasn't there (or whatever the deal was) in the first place. Maybe they'd have let him take the shot anyway, and maybe he'd have legitimately won it. It's pretty easy to tell the truth. These guys got it right, even if it did take them a minute to get there. They're good kids, sounds like.
  6. Some things about the avatars that may interest you. They interest me, anyway. The blue color for the Scout Team avatars came from Kenny Bell's scout team jersey in this pic: I cropped the pic down to just the blue jersey, then used PhotoShop's "average" filter to get a good, even blue. I then took the entire pic and used the same filter, and ended up with the gray for the Walk-On team. If anyone else has PhotoShop they should be able to get the same color by using the same filter on this pic. I did a similar trick to get the black for the Blackshirts avatars, as well as the D-Coordinator. That came from a shirt Carl was wearing (but I seem to have lost that pic?). The Coaches avatars are pretty much a copypasta of a section of one of Bo's sweatshirts, from one of last year's games. Didn't do any filtering or altering. The stripes on everyone's "jerseys" are from an OWH pic of Rex. Can't remember which game, though. But I pretty much just copypasta'd the stripes right off his jersey and pasted them into the avatar. The red came from Rex's jersey in that pic as well. So, short story long, all the colors in all the avatars came from actual pics of actual players and coaches.
  7. If the man wants to go home, and leave the "Harvard of football," then let him go. Time for Bo to show us how great that rolodex is. And how deep UNL's pockets are.
  8. A chronically injured Marcel Jones is not an indictment of our whole Offensive Line. Yes, we have O Line problems. Marcel Jones is not the poster-boy of those problems.
  9. Do we have a Niles Paul thread? If so, someone link me to it. Here's Niles showing off his athleticism in a workout.
  10. One of the Lincoln writers was saying Lavonte bulked up to 233 for the Combine, which may have cost him some speed. He played at 225 here at Nebraska.
  11. David's first 40 time was 4.66 If that's correct, that's surprisingly slow. But anyone not drafting him based on his 40 is a fool. Dude is a legit football talent.

Christopherson noted that David bulked up to 233lbs for the Combine, perhaps cutting some speed. Hard to say.

    3. GSG

      GSG

I'd be more interested in his shuttle times. Says he did 19 reps on bench and had 36.5 vert

Did a 4.56 on his second try, ranks him around 5-6 for Lbs, pretty darn good.

  12. Here's hoping your good friend is correct.
  13. People support a winner, pretty simple. If the men's team starts winning, they'll get more support. But when the university itself doesn't care, there's no way the fans will. Nebraska is also a Volleyball school, and fan support here is among the best in the nation, with only Hawaii putting more butts in seats over the past decade than us (although look for that to change when the team moves to the Bob). We've had some awesome fan support for baseball when they were playing well, but the last few years have been pretty dismal, and support once again fell off. Football does reign supreme in Nebraska, and that's not likely to ever change. But other sports could make their own noise. As far as the site goes, we've had subforums for other sports (most notably Volleyball), but traffic to those other forum isn't always high, so when we redesigned the board a couple of years ago we axed the individual sports forums. Maybe if/when interest builds we'll bring them back.
  14. Those freshmen are going to be pretty darned good in the next few years. Yori should be able to keep recruiting momentum going with the facilities she's recruiting to, with her resume, and with her track record of winning. The women's team is in pretty good shape right now.
  15. I'm about 96.779% sure tschu was just kidding around, matthew. And whatever the motive for this thread, I'm not worried about playing any Big XII team. Bring 'em all on. We've beaten every one of them before and we'll do it again.
  16. Out jumped is the wrong terms for his play, but his height does hurt him as we've seen a few times. The kid is an athletic beast, and he will show that at the combine lo was being facetious. Fonzie didn't get out-jumped by anyone.... well, except Alshon at the bowl game on that stupid Hail Mary. But pretty much every other time he beat his man.
  17. Dude, you made the Scout Team. PM me with a number and I'll get you a jersey.
  18. That was a heck of a game. After a late-season slide saw us lose four out of five, falling from #13 to #23, hosting #8 Ohio State wasn't going to be easy. Nobody told the Fightin' Yoris, though. Nebraska built a 15-point lead early in the second half behind Emily Cady's 24 (tied for career high), and finished with a 14-point win, 71-57. LINK
  19. Mr. Hawks should have just joined HuskerBoard and posted that. Wouldn't have cost him a dime, and it would have the same impact on the Athletic Department. If, instead of writing checks to the Weird Harold he stopped writing checks to the Athletic Department Fund, that would have an impact. But this... not so much. I think he feels quite passionately about the University, and that's great. But when that passion leads you to say/do something like this, it's not so great. It's too much. Seems like:
  20. Remember that big lead Santorum had about ten days ago? Gone. Santorum's lead disappears in national poll Seems like the easiest way to defeat Santorum is to give him a microphone.
  21. Is Santorum trying to throw this thing? How do you say something like this and expect to be your party's nominee, let alone win the general election? LINK
  22. Iowa Schmiowa. Just because we happen to share a border doesn't mean anything. We'll see who develops as a rival. The best rivalries evolve, they aren't fabricated. Anyone is fair game.
