I cleaned up some typos in the Martinez blurb in the OP. Their editing is less than impressive.

My guess is that they're factoring in the pieces surrounding these players as well. Miller's #2 ranking isn't specifically earned by his play on the field, which at times was both brilliant and bewildering.

I agree the potential is there. Kenny Bell, Quincy Enunwa, Jamal Turner, Jordan Westerkamp, Taariq Allen, Kyler Reed - these are guys who can give a defense fits. We need to figure out how to utilize their talents, and of course we need to get them the ball in a manner that allows them to rack up YAC.

Unsurprisingly, Denard Robinson weighs in at #1, with (somewhat surprisingly) Braxton Miller at #2. D-Rob is the odds-on favorite for the Big Ten First Team QB, while Miller is being rated mostly on potential - and the advent of the Urban Meyer Era in Columbus. Martinez' potential has yet to be fully tapped. The question is, is his upside two ticks higher or ten ticks higher than we've already seen? Can he figure out the passing game? I don't think Athlon is exaggerating in the least when they say Nebraska has - potentially - the top receiving corps in the Big Ten. But all the talent at wideout won't help one whit if Martinez can't get them the ball consistently and on time.

No VP is going to get Romney the presidency. The best thing a Veep candidate can do is not lose you the election. No Veep has ever won an election for their candidate - but some have lost, or nearly lost, the election for their candidate (Palin in 2008, Quayle in 1988). Romney is going to have to win this on his own, not based on a great Veep pick. If the Veep were so great, he'd be the candidate, not Romney. Ron Paul's politics are so diametrically opposed to Romney's that they would be a train wreck of a ticket. Every time Paul opened his mouth he'd contradict his candidate, something you really don't want on the ticket. I'd expect Marco Rubio to get the call. He could help Romney swing Florida, which Obama took in 08.

You mean the same Cubans that didn't support the then Florida Marlins? That have 2 World Series Championships. They are hypocrites. If they supported the Marlins i would agree with them. Yes, those Cubans. I didn't say it was logical, I said that's why they're doing it.

I voted no, but then I don't run a baseball team in Miami, which has a HUGE Cuban expat population. It's hard to gripe too much about the suspension. Ozzie was stupid and he knows it. He should have kept his mouth shut. I think five games is too long, though. But they're sending a message to their fans.

What they should do is create a business park on the outskirts of town. Then they could keep their precious skyline and still have tower space available for big business. That's a moot point, though - the reason we don't have towers is because nobody wants to build them. Nobody wants to build them because Lincoln isn't "business friendly," for those kinds of major businesses. We have the interstate but no major airline connections. Lincoln's airport gets very little traffic and has only a few flights available. Bo has talked about how difficult it can be to get a kid in here for an official visit because of the lack of flights. Businesses don't want that hassle, either.

I agree that the Orange Bowl is no big deal now. It's been a shell of its former self for a long time. Heck, I can't remember the last time Nebraska played in it. We've bounced around bowls for quite a while now.
