  1. Exactly. He was horribly miscast as our HC, but he'd be a wizard as an O Line coach.
  2. There were some blown calls that went our way, too, notably the "down at the one yard line" fiasco of a call. The refs didn't lose this game for us. Our inability to move or score lost this game. We gotta get off this "blame someone else" mentality. WE lost this game. It's very simple.
  3. Welcome to the board. Nice post. We've had three tough losses this year by a combined four points. We're a bit upset right now. Give everyone a few days and we'll be over this, or at least somewhat.
  4. And the year afterward, you're playing for the BCS Championship. Maybe the Huskers can pull the same trick. Lord knows our Defense will be loaded for bear next year, and possibly better than this year. All we gotta do is figure out an offense than can score 21 points a game against just about anyone. That's it.
  5. Any of these work? Pictures from the JournalStar. Forgot this one from the World Herald:
  6. Thanks, Spanky. Very kind of you to stick around and offer your take on this. Rest assured that most Nebraska fans are the same as those who clapped for Ricky back in the day. There are a lot of raw emotions right now, and this ridiculous hubris over Texas that probably will never go away. People are, understandably, upset after losing a close game. The air will clear here in a while. Don't be a stranger next October. We'll be sure to have a nice welcome for your lads when they visit Lincoln, and you can be sure that when your players leave the field, win or lose, they'll be given a standing ovation. There are enough of us who remember what good sportsmanship is like that we'll drown out the fools.
  7. I love how the guy named Chuck Norris is comparing Suh to Von Miller. Hey, genius... Miller is a linebacker. This exemplifies why Suh wouldn't win the Heisman - people do not understand his position.
  8. i know the exact play you are talking about. he was in beast mode all night. As do I.
  9. We have the players to succeed on offense. We need the correct scheme and the right coaches running that scheme. When we do, this is a unit that could score 20-28 points per game. With this defense, that's more than enough points to put us in the BCS next year. Maybe even the Championship. Let's. Make. That. Happen.
  10. Picking a player out from the team and publicly throwing him under the bus like this is ridiculous.
  11. That was the right call. The process of getting to that right call may have been incorrect. Bottom line - it's done. I'm over it, hopefully the team gets over it soon, and hopefully it motivates them in the bowl game. We're facing a pretty tough task in whomever we get from the Pac-10.
  12. Truman, I'm being utterly truthful right now. The reality is that this defense could be better next year than it was this year. I'll provide a breakdown why I say that if you want, but that's the honest truth.
  13. Gomes played out of his mind. It wasn't just that strip - he was in on several blitzes and was generally a thorn in the side of Texas all game long. God help our opponents next year. This defense could be fearsome.
  14. Andy Staples from CNN/SI thinks so:
  15. Please, do not feed the trolls. Know when you are being baited. Do not waste your time responding. Thanks!
  16. I wonder how many times Zac has pitched it. Everytime it seems like he keeps it, takes a step and then gets slides so he doesn't get him. Zac's pitches are a roller coaster ride. He pitches too high, too late, too low... don't you remember Lee/Helu's fumble against Oklahoma?
  17. We lost so much from last year's offense that you guys griping about Watson either don't get it or don't want to get it. Lay off the griping for God's sake. We scored a bazillion points last year - you think that was an accident?
  18. Remarkably, no. You two need to watch the games closer. Niles ran a reverse that scored against one of the Sun Belt teams, maybe Arkansas State.
  19. We get Cowherd. It's not like his shtick is over our heads.
  20. Well, the whole reason I want Gill to go to Kansas is so his drive won't be so far when he makes the move to Lincoln. I fully expect Turner to coach here before his career is done. Bo may stay for 30 years - who knows? But if not, Turner is our guy. Honestly, is going 'home' to coach always, absolutely, the best thing to do? If coach Bo is successful in building back the Huskers to a top 10 school that regularly 'reloads', like the old days, why is this job a stepsister to any other? NU has very deep pockets when they're needed. Also, from what i've heard, Bo's family just loves Lincoln... I'm just "what iffing." I hope Bo stays and continues to grow as a coach here. I can't imagine he'd be more successful at Ohio State than here, or that he's more interested in coaching there than here. This is a pretty darned sweet gig. OSU would be, at best, a lateral move.
