  1. I would watch every minute of an OU/Minnesota thrashing. The Sooners are 3-0 vs. Cosgrove defenses. That would easily get to 4-0 after a bowl game against the Gophers.
  2. Well, the whole reason I want Gill to go to Kansas is so his drive won't be so far when he makes the move to Lincoln. I fully expect Turner to coach here before his career is done. Bo may stay for 30 years - who knows? But if not, Turner is our guy.
  3. Sweatervest isn't going anywhere anytime soon. And if Bo ever leaves, we'll go get Turner Gill, with Scott Frost as his O Coordinator and Marvin Sanders as his D Coordinator. And then may God have mercy on the souls of the Big XII.
  4. 2009 - a Haiku Asante's no thug Ndamukong Suh can't drive Cody Green arrives
  5. I keep saying that our defense has the potential to be better next year even after we lose Suh, Phil Dill and Asante. We have some ballers on the defensive side of the ball. If our offense can consistently score 14-17 points against tough competition, we'll be vying for the Conference Championship every year Pelini is here.
  6. If we're devolving into haiku, allow me to submit this for your enjoyment... Jordan Shipley plays This thread is classy no more Hippopotamus
  7. Exactly! There's no way to lose. Meanwhile it's all just blather without consequence. Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player, That struts and frets upon the stage, And then is heard no more. It is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing. - William Shakespeare Macbeth, act 5, scene 5
  8. Jeannie doesn't think this thread is classy anymore.
  9. In all fairness to Cowherd, he'd be saying the same thing about Texas if the roles were reversed. And he has a point that our offense isn't good. The problem with talking heads like this guy is, they blow everything out of proportion so the controversy becomes the story. It's a self-sustaining situation then, because then you've got fans of the "dissed" team calling in to defend them, and fans of the "supported" team calling in to rebut, and everyone's all a-twitter, and meanwhile everyone's listening. Cowherd doesn't give two craps about this game or either team involved. Cowherd cares about his Q rating and how many ears tune into his show.
  10. Lee Corso said it. Steve Pederson put it on the wall. The rest of us just try to live up to it.
  11. Very much not shocking at all. Without a bowl game to prepare for there's no reason for him to wait. Lew Perkins had better hit a home run with this. This is starting to remind me of the Bulls after Jordan retired - they tore the team up and started over, and they haven't been relevant since.
  12. Yeah, the Clemson fans that were defending Suh/Nebraska brought up the Gator Bowl. I'm guessing the guy was just being a sour grape. And aside from a few guys over there on their board, my interactions with Clemson fans has been overwhelmingly positive. They're a good group of folks. PS - I am not a coot. (Clemson name for Gamecocks fans)
  13. Good luck, Coastal Carolina. Hope you enjoy your frigid trip to Lincoln.
  14. They can't be any worse than the conspiracy theorists in Clemson's fan base. I spent a lot of time the last week over on Tigernet.com talking to people about Suh, explaining why he's getting so many votes, and how we're (mostly) not cheating. They were convinced that the only way Suh could be getting that many votes was if we had a bot going. One guy even produced a chart and highlighted where the bot took off, the whole thing. One guy had no idea who Suh even was. Said he'd never heard of him until this vote. A few more came in and basically called that guy and anyone suggesting Nebraska cheating foolish, and generally stuck up for Suh and Husker fans. That was cool. But the conspiracy theorists would not be shouted down. They were, and remain, convinced we cheated. Whatever.
  15. Shipley will play and he'll have over 100 receiving yards. Bank on it.
  16. Sagarin has Texas' SOS at 49 (Nebraska's is 62nd). Texas hasn't exactly played anyone tough, but the teams they've played they've looked good against. Make no mistake - Texas is a good team, and we had better bring our A+ game or we're going to get whipped like a gimp.
  17. Those were probably mail-in ballots from our troops overseas.
  18. I like how in that poll Suh wins every state but Tennessee (tied for first), Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. In every state he's not #1 he's #2 by more than ten percentage points.
  19. What do you mean, "do they deserve a shot?" They'll get their seeding and their shot. All they have to do is work their way through the tournament, win out, and they'll be in the championship game like they deserve. Oh... wait...
  20. Well said, Sir. And I hope Shipley is OK. I'd rather have this game decided on the field and not because of injury. May the best team win.
  21. I hate the BCS. I would love nothing more than for Nebraska to help submarine this debacle of a "championship."
  22. I'm trying to give as much credit as I can, but it's hard NOT to see Texas winning and winning big. Your D is stout, but your O is terrible. If we have a 2 TD lead, I don't see NU recovering from that. Colt needs more Heisman numbers which can mean he is forcing things or "Uh oh...lookout". Good luck You're right. It'll be very tough for us to win. We'll need a few turnovers and we'll have to dominate Special Teams. Our offense will have to figure out a way to move the ball, figure it out early, and be able to make it stick all game long. Those are tall orders for a team that's struggled as much as we have all year. I'll be watching and hoping, but I'm not going to be surprised if Texas covers. SIDE NOTE - we get to play each other three years in a row. Don't be a stranger next year.
  23. ??????????????? pretty sure that went WAY over my head.... I came to post this just as I heard on ESPN that he was out, only to see that you had scooped me. That was my lame attempt at humor.
