  1. Put Zac Lee on that USC team and he beats OSU, too.
  2. Bingo. The same Dr. Tom that they wanted to run out of here so much that he almost took the Colorado job in the 1970s. And let's not forget Charlie McBride, whom everyone wanted OUT in the late 80s. This kind of talk is foolishness.
  3. Bo told you that, if you listened to his press conference. They're happy with what he did out there. He did what he was asked to do.
  4. Not only that, but how are you going to know when to tell me to go stuff myself? And where would the fun be if you couldn't tell some old winbag like me to go stuff themselves? I'm harmless, man. Don't get too concerned over me. Ignore it, or tell me to get stuffing. It's all good.
  5. Heck no, I just didn't see anything that impressive in Zac Lee except he has some wheels. Several passes were close to being picked. Does Cody Green deliver any less? If the answer is "no", then you play him if he's your future. This is why you fail to understand why Zac is our QB, and why he will be throughout the season barring injury. Zac played a very good game today, at times brilliant. He managed the game very well, and minimized mistakes. Sure, he missed some passes. But there hasn't been a Husker QB in the history of our program who hasn't tossed picks or missed wide open WRs. Our boy Cody Green is going to do it, too. When he does, are we going to call for Tyler Gabbert to come in? Man, I hope not.
  6. I really don't want to get into a "the refs screwed us" conversation, but that's the part that really confused me. Why not at least take a look at it?
  7. Thank you. That's what I'm doing. Ain't nobody forcing you to read this thread. You are exactly right, no one is forcing me to read it. However, I am allowed to have my opinions about your posts or anyone's posts just as much as the next guy is about mine. It just gets a little tiresome seeing you go all "high and mighty" all over the board. Ain't nobody forcing you to read my posts. Click This
  8. Thank goodness for your sanity. I've been trying to say this in several threads, but there are a LOT of people more interested in wringing their hands over this loss rather than looking at the positives we saw out there. I'm excited for the trip to Columbia. Very excited. PS - that Arnie Cab - nice? Not so nice? I've been meaning to pick some up but I don't drink reds so much in the summertime.
  9. Thank you. That's what I'm doing. Ain't nobody forcing you to read this thread.
  10. Thanks, and good luck to you guys, too. We need you to keep winning now so this doesn't look so bad for us. =) I've known some Hokie fans for years now, and I've always had a great deal of respect for you guys. Thanks for the kind words.
  11. Mythical National Championship. It's what some people call the NC since it's based on such a silly, flawed system. But that's a conversation for another thread.
  12. Right. We should all just be wallowing in self-pity and pissing and moaning about this, because that's the kind of attitude this program was built on. You're missing the point. I'm not saying anyone should be doing anything, one way or the other. I find it hilarious that you seem to believe that you have the authority to tell people what the can or cannot do and how they should or should not feel about a game. In the end, everybody is a Husker fan. But after a close, heart-breaking loss like that, you seem to have ALL the answers; what calls to make on the field, how everyone should be acting, etc. It honestly cracks me up, but not a really hilarious way. You're defending someone's right to call out the coaches, the players or in general whine about this loss. Sure, it's a free country. But that doesn't make it right, nor does that make such behavior appropriate for a fan base who stands for what Nebraska claims to stand for.
  13. Punish? Hardly. They'll teach, and this team will learn. Castille got punished. This team doesn't deserve punishment.
  14. This conversation makes about as much sense as wondering how many times we could have gotten those yards if we still had Tommie Frazier or Mike Rozier.
  15. Right. We should all just be wallowing in self-pity and pissing and moaning about this, because that's the kind of attitude this program was built on.
  16. That's a play-call that is pretty common in 3rd and forever situations and has worked against us and many others many times before. Quit with the blaming. Not only that, but if Lee slipped through to, say, the 20, then you're kicking the game-winning FG after that call. It's the bitching in hindsight that annoys me the most. Probably more than this loss, to be honest.
  17. There seems to be a lack of appreciation for the uses of strategy in a game.
  18. VA Tech is a pretty good defense. I think a lot of people are ignoring this in their analysis of Lee. WRs were covered all game, and Lee was under pressure all game. He threw one bad pick and one garbage time pick, but otherwise he managed the game very well.
  19. Agree. And the interception - a mistake. But nobody plays error-free all game long. I seem to recall even the great Tommie Frazier, and the great Turner Gill, fumbling or tossing picks once in a while. Lee is a good game manager, solid, and knows when to pack it in and get rid of it, too. Lee was sacked 0 times this game.
  20. I'd like to introduce you to a friend of mine. Goes by the name of Roy Helu.
  21. If you call 11 for 30 getting it done---I'd be an NFL QB You're focusing on those completion stats, and they aren't pretty, but Lee played a wise game and had us in position to win the game.
  22. Lots of things could have happened different on that TD play. Suh stepping up, after the game he had, is cool. We're damned lucky to have this guy.
