  1. Fair enough. I guess I'm just not as convinced as others that he shouldn't factor into next years QB race.
  2. Not to be contrary, but why does Green have to RS? Pryor didn't, Tebow didn't, Frazier didn't. If he out performs others, get him on the field. If he ends up being all we hope, I'd rather see him play for at least 3 seasons v. 1RS and 2playing before possibly jumping to the NFL.
  3. Frankly, I'm for whatever is working. Too many times NU stuck with the running when it wasnt working and at times it appeared that NU shouldve been trying to run when they weren't.
  4. My understanding is that he's going to NU to be a DB even though he is a good HS QB. They may have to break out the duct tape if they start Witt or he better learn to hang onto the ball in the offseason.
  5. This could be the difference in NU winning the North next season.
  6. Once you got passed on the Rose Bowl stuff, which I know was hard to do, they gave NU quite a bit of love and Reece called them an "It" team for next year. Out of all of the non-Rose teams, I thought NU got the most love for whatever its worth.
  7. Agreed! When NU gets some DBs, look out!
  8. I dont want people getting PO'd with me for being too negative so this is the last I'll say about it today. Watson, much like the Colorado game, didn't bring his A game. He turns the play calling into brain surgery with his one-dimensional attack. It was clear after the first quarter that running the ball up the middle and dink/dunk passing was not going to get the job done. Clemson kept bringing 11 guys within 7 yards of the LOS because Watons refused to throw down field until the first drive of the second half. It worked, and then he goes back to running for short gains. Q saved his rump today with those 2 runs. Take out those 2 runs by Q that he made on his own, NU probably loses a close game, and many besides me would be questioning the play calling.
  9. Agreed. Spiller looked like he had the speed & moves to make our D look bad. Thank god they didnt realize that. I thought both O coordinators left a lot to be desired.
  10. I give the season a solid B. Im satisfied with 8-4, but easily couldda, shouldda, wouldda been 10-2 (VT,TT). Couldda been 6-6 or worse though (Baylor, SJSU, CU).
  11. Really, your question should be, What if Freeman were a different person? He didnt come to NU because of NU. He went to KSU because he was promised to start. He wasnt going to start at NU right away, and it may have taken a couple of years. He didnt/wouldnt have waited.
  12. The more I think about. I would think the Gator would actually make more money with NU there. The advertisers are going to be there regardless. I dont beleive the TV ratings will be higher with ND instead of NU (the opponent could make the difference). Finally, NU fans will/should fill the stadium. Can the same be said about the casual ND fans?
  13. A lot of the speculation will depend on where Pinkel is coaching next year. He's yet to publicly address that. I wonder how much Washington is tugging at him.
  14. Agreed. He sure as hell didn't look like an NFL QB today. But, he will probably get a chance to hold a clipboard or something for a coupla years. Agreed also. I definitely think he has a "me" centric attitude that limits his ability to inspire his teammates to help him win. I hate that guys like Taylor and probably Ganz have decent college careers, but really dont/wont get much luv at the next level, but a guy like Freeman who's accomplished exactly jack squat at the college level will probably, at worst, get a nice signing bonus because of the way he's built.
  15. Kudos to him personally, the team, and coaching staff. Guys like this are the reason were seeing the light at the end of this crap tunnell we've been in for the last 5 years.
  16. I think your last statement is a bit contradiction. I think the reason they sometimes shoot themsleves in the foot is due to the talent level. Ganz is the perfect example of this. A tough, good QB, but not so good (a la a ebow or such), that he can just walk on the field and be the best player on it. Hence the crazy mistakes sometimes. When they get the type of talent that was here in the 90's, you'll see the games more "perfectly" played.
  17. I would love to see the Huskers on Jan1 as a very nice gift for this "reclamation project". The Alamo wouldnt be bad. I think the Sun is a bit of a kick in the teeth assuming these guys take care of biz against CU.
  18. I think it depends on the context you view the win from. I agree with Sip. Kansas is a good team. Other than maybe the '06 team, the former coach had difficulty winning against a team of KU's caliber (well coached, few mistakes). I think KU and VT are very similar, and I would actually give the edge to KU. Certainly this wouldnt have ranked up there with a win over OU or TT this year, but when was the last time NU beat a team of even KU's calibur?
  19. 99%..leaving the possibility of no more wins or that by some odd chance a bowl wouldnt invite a six win NU (cant seen that happening though).
  20. He was definitely a liability today other than the one play where he ran Griffin down across the field. I'm treating it as a one-off bad game.
