  1. I don't think Nebraska can win a conference title in the MAC either
  2. This thread doesn't make me feel better about our defense like I did during the game sans the one drive.
  3. He is completely 90 degrees away from the line of scrimmage though. head is in a line with the yard line he is on. I find that strange
  4. I don't think I have ever seen a corner lined up like our guy at the top. Looks like when you play A video game and it bugs out on you or something
  5. Let's just let Jon Cook take a shot at a different sport
  6. Just curious, how many of the people that are freaking out thought the spread was too low?
  7. That's crazy then I thought it seemed wrong the way it was handled. Overall I felt like the officiating was pretty mediocre. The one that really gets me still is how much holding went on in the game and then they call one to reverse a nice run where there wasn't a hold on the whole screen and the guy they called just blocked his guy into the turf
  8. Nobody willing to mention that maybe Colorado state is good this year
  9. That isn't really history being re-written. The events happened. I agree about he time period element, but the fact our standards are better doesn't make it ok things happened in the past. I don't see it as trashing- but ultimately we are talking about a show we haven't seen who knows what it would have been like.
  10. Or Rodgers. Two of our three Heisman winners. Fryar at 3 dollars is a bargain, and All the running backs are good- Green probably being the steal.
  11. Is this OSU wr coach secret account on here?
  12. Most of the stuff being talked about is after garrison came in when our blocking, at least in the run game, improved. That said our WR blocking outclassed our OL imho
  13. Did he need to? I don't understand the bad rap our OL got under the Pelini years. Some of them were certainly worse than others, but by and large, they were pretty dang solid (at least most of the time). Ameer Abdullah led the nation in yards before first contact the majority of his senior year, and in 2010 we were a small handful of yards away from having 3 1,000 yard rushers. Pass pro was sometimes a different story, but overall, I wonder if Husker fan still holds the standard to be the 90's squads or to be FSU/Bama level excellence, when reality is that we just don't have the talent and ability to be THAT good right now. Our blocking got better when they brought another OL coach in but it was never really good. We did have some excellent RBs though.
  14. Nobody talking about Mazour any more?
  15. Am I wrong thinking that pen states OL wasn't that good last year either? McSorely was just able to deal with it.
  16. Drew Brown Someone on kickoff team so idk. I'll go with Damian Jackson being a special teams standout
  17. Yeah, no kidding. 20 yrs ago me would be laughing my ass off at this article.
  18. It's far from what I would call "cordial." But yeah a lot of people blame Texas for the wrong things. The big 12s current state is on the southern teams however. The first news to break was about all the southern teams joining the PAC 10. That started the whole thing, none of the other teams really had any reason to look elsewhere before that.
  19. Times are changing a bit, it's less regular to have a guy who can do 20-30 carries every game. Look across the board at college and NFL both. That said with as many games as there are it kind of offsets I guess
  20. Throw in the fact that the 2 leading rushers (Newby & Armstrong) aren't returning, and they both had YPC over 4.5 yards, there is cause for concern regarding the run game. In fact, looking at returning ball carriers, the stats from 2016 are: Devine Ozigbo 97 carries for 412 yards, 4.2 YPC, 37.5 YPG Tre Bryant 43 carries for 172 yards, 4.0 YPC, 14.3 YPG Mikale Wilbon, 15 carries for 89 yards, 5.9 YPC, 8.9 YPG Pierson-El, 14 carries for 34 yards, 2.4 YPC, 2.6 YPG Total 169 carries for 707 yards, 4.2 YPC, 54.4 YPG That's not a lot of returning production. imho the Pierson el ypc is troubling. We didn't get much production on the fly sweep from anyone this year. That's a change of pace run, it should be fewer attempts higher Ypc.
  21. Just saying national championships is not a metric we should be using for program success. Winning the big 10 doesn't even guarantee a shot at the playoff. We could go on an amazing run and not actually win a single national championship.
  22. And Wisconsin has been recruiting in the 30-50 range and that's where they're ranked on this list...but not where they are ranked period. Imagine that. In other words, take these 'rankings' with a grain of salt. How many playoff appearances or national championships do they have?i think at this point we just want to win our division. At some point a conference championship should happen but talking about playoffs- there is so much more that goes into it. And to actually come out of the playoff as champs? I think we need to just let that dream die and if it ever occurs it will be amazing but it's not something we should try to base our program around
  23. Forgive me as this is partially my fault - if you read that article, it was opining for both Beck AND the other OC to be removed. I only talked about Beck because that was the point of discussion in this thread. As for tOSU's offense, in Herman's last year, they were top 10 in total offense and top five in passing efficiency and scoring offense. Last year? They were ranked 31, 44 and 5 in those categories. And Barrett regressed from his 2014 numbers to 2016. Ok, well, that's how the cookie crumbles I guess. Depending on whom you read, Beck was supposedly doing most the play calling as a "CO-OC" in '15 up until the loss to Sparty, but they still went 12-1 and were co-champs of B1G that year. So Ed Warinner, the other "CO-OC" was doing the play calling in '16-allegedly-and they go 11-2 and playoff berth. 23-3 while Beck was "CO-OC" @ tOSU. Is there any shame in a young team getting hammered in a playoff game vs the best team in the country w the best player in the country @ QB. I say, "no, there is no shame in that", but what I'm getting out of tOSU is that whiney prick Urbs no likey to lose--AT ALL! Heads will roll! Well, guess what, Beck gets the "tit" job @ Tejas, a promotion in position and pay to full OC @ a premier program in the land with prlly the hottest HC and Ed Warinner, who OBTW was OC @ KU in their '07 scoring explosion and #7 ranking, 12-1 with, guess who, lil Mr. Tim Beck as "pass game coord"--anyway, Ed Warinner is now demoted to OL coach in Gopherville. Also, it is in the public record that Tom Herman has explicitly said that Tim Beck will be doing the play calling @ Tejas--just Google it. Who got the last laugh here, Husker Fan?(Well, he must be sh#t cuz we fired him...) is this just CM huskers new name?
