  1. AP is out, Coaches poll is out, 2 computer polls are out. Haven't found anything on the Harris and the other 4 computer polls aren't going to be released until the show. All indications are LSU and OSU
  2. I thought he played for Oakland..(You might be thinking of his son) His bio says he was drafted by Pittsburgh - yet, I think I recall him in Cincy once. Wonderful Monds JR If you remember, he recovered a fumble in the end zone when Okla St was on the verge of a huge upset to preserve a 17-17 tie. 1973 I believe.
  3. What will Pelini get? 1.5 million????? His former boss: Les Miles new contract will pay him from $2.6-3.4 million per year in a five-year deal with up to two more years that can be optioned by LSU. Exact dollar figures will be based on the salaries of the three highest-paid coaches in the Southeastern Conference and across the nation. If LSU wins the BCS championship game, Miles’ current contract (which pays him $1.8 million per year) guarantees he will be one of the three highest-paid coaches in the country.

  5. If you had a lab when you were a kid then what better name now than "LYLE"
  6. Ok, where do we take him?? Bar, strip joint (Mike Price could join us), we could take him out-of-state to Callahan's Bar in Council Bluffs. Maybe some nice laid back place in Lincoln. Wonder what to get him, maybe a defensive line? Whatever and whereever, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BO!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. There are some good names of former players to choose from. You could name the pup Rimington. It has a certain ring to it. While I'm on the R's, Rathman or Ruud would be others to consider. Berringer is another one that has a good sound to it and that was a Husker that really was someone to look up to. Depends on the personality of the pup. Good luck. If you're looking for a pit bull name, Lawrence Phillips, Abdul Muhammed, Scott Baldwin, CHristian Peter, etc Probably want to stay away from a dog named Bohl, although it fits for a "dog", or Solich or Pedersen Hey how about a dog named Callahan or Cosgrove if you have a stray
  8. $100,000 bonus for every time he crosses the field and rips the coach for running up the score. I don't think thats going to happen with him at the helm of the D though. Scott Our Pelini can kick you Ron Prince's ass Pelini over Mack Brown with out a punch May have a scrum with Stoops, but I'll take Bo in 5 rounds Mangino, yea, stay away from the bear hug Dan Hawkins looks like he would cry if Pelini went after him. Speaking of crying, could you see Bo taking care of Gundy. WOw, to listen to what Gundy would be crying out. Pelini, you da man.
  9. I would bet someone from his defensive staff at LSU. Whoever that is, they may not be the one who comes in until after the NC game. It won't be a bunch of ex-huskers with limited experience (see Scott Frost). This will be a top-notch staff.
  10. Latest Ap and coaches poll has Ohio St #1 and LSU #2, OU is 3 Two of the comuter polls have Bucks and LSU 1-2 also. Looks like LSU-Ohio St. Pelini is NU coach. Will NOT be coaching in NC game.
  11. I just read Sean Callahan's post on another board, as they say. Pelini is meeting with the team this afternoon. Excellent! So whens the Press Conference going to be? Tommorow? All he said was "The University should have something out shortly" http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=1200...;u_sid=10199612
  12. In the long run, no way. Coaching is more important than race. If Gill has what it takes, he has it on merit rather than race. He, as well as any other "non-white" coach (See Kelvin Sampson) wouldn't want it any other way. Good coaches, good assistants = good players in your program. Head coaches don’t see the tapes of all the recruits. That’s what the assistants are for. Many head coaches see the kid only once. If a kid wants to go to a school due to the race of the head coach, probably not the best candidate out there.
  13. . . . and yee of little faith shall put thyne trust in BO!!
  14. SOURCE UNKNOWN But I'd like to have a beer with this guy!! And it came to pass in the land of Lincoln, in the kingdom of Husker Nation, that a man named Pederson arose to rule the realm of Athletics; for he was of the Kingdom, from the city of North Platte, and was a follower of the Huskers of Corn. But he was not a wise man, forsaking the ways of the Husker Nation, sending the leader Solich into the wilderness, and turning away the warriors of old who wore the tunics of black into battle in ages past, even removing their portraits and pictures. And in the place of Solich, he selected from the land of La-La a strange man, once known as leading a failed army known as Raiders to defeat after defeat in the grand Coliseum of the Land of Oaks, a city by the bay of San Francisco, a wicked city of Sodomites and practitioners of perversion. And thus did this man, known as Callahan, become the general of the Husker armies, forsaking all traditions held dear to the hearts of the citizens. And a strange plan known as the West Coast Offense was forced upon the armies, and the proven tactics of old were called evil and sinful by Callahan. And complex and confusing were the plans of the Offense, and failure was the result. And the Husker armies fell apart on the fields of battle, and adversaries from the Land of Troy, the hated Sooners, the powerful Orange Cowboys from the land of Still Water, yea, even the despised Purple Cats from the wasteland of Kansas, did achieve victory after victory over the once-mighty Husker armies, and the wearers of the Tunics of Black. And in the fourth year of the reign of Callahan, did the Husker armies struggle against warriors from a land where canning jars were made. And lo, the armies of Troy, the Tiger tribe from Columbia, yea, even the Orange Cowboys, did soundly defeat the Husker armies. And it came to pass during the battle with the Orange Cowboys, in the presence of St. Thomas of Osborne and his brave soldiers of yore, that the members of Husker Nation did turn their backs upon the slaughter of the weakened armies of Callahan. And a hue and cry arose throughout the land, in cyberspace, and on the program ESPN, for the removal of the failed general Callahan and his aides, and his master Pederson the Jerk. And the Chancellor heard their cries, and dispatched Pederson into exile. And St. Thomas was summoned by the Chancellor, and was given the power to rule in the department of Athletics. And lo, did Callahan wail and gnash his teeth, telling one and all of the fine works he had done. And his lies fell on deaf ears. And there was great joy in Husker Nation as St. Thomas restored the traditions of old, welcoming with open arms the warriors of old known to the Nation. But there was a reminder from St. Thomas that no remedies would be quick in coming, and that time shall pass before the great Husker armies are strong and feared once again throughout the land of the Alliance of 12. Even so, once again hope is strong among the faithful of the Husker Nation, and some day in the future the Tunics of Black shall once again be worn by the fierce defenders of the field.
  15. Who cares about the rumor. The pasta and meatballs at SOn's is the greatest!! Mosc and sausage next week!!!!!!
  16. Between Jay Ball and Eric Berhens it would seem Central is going to win everything this year... its about bloody time!! Well they have quite a few of the 2007 Championships. I am so proud of the Eagles. I hope Ronnell gets his scholorship back. As the president of the Central High School Alumni Association, I couldn't be prouder of the kids at Central!! Ronnell will get his scholarship back... he is a big part of WHY Central beat Millard North. I hope Ronnell gets a scholarship also, but not to Nebraska. He'd be perfect in UNO's system.
  17. This is uncomfirmed but from a rivals.com source: Pelini has resigned at LSU at will be named coach at Nebraska late this afternoon Take it for what it's worth. I'm thinking it's solid. I am a bandwagon poster on this site and not a regular but comsumed with all the talk.
  18. Pelini on the 27th with Bill Snyder named as the DCoordinator
  19. They could easily make fun of Travis Justice or Matt Pereault
  20. yea, it is entertaining, however, I won't miss that hemroid spot (a$$hole) Callahan
  21. Weird...Kelly and Reeg were saying neither...they were saying Belichek... There we go again with the east coast bias.
