  1. It's not just a static image of the old tunnel entrance they're covering up, it's a live video feed of the old tunnel entrance!
  2. Depends what you're cooking. Pork ribs take maybe 5 or 6 hours to cook, so having them ready before a 2:30 game is perfectly doable, and even for an 11am game if you get up early or serve them at halftime. For a pork butt or brisket, though, you're looking at an overnight cook for anything other than a 7pm game.
  3. The Big 12's current grant of rights expires in 2025, and the buzzards are already circling to pick at the corpse. Think you've got that bass ackwards? Considering their performance last year, they might prefer that...
  4. This. Probably not a coincidence that this goes through 2025. For those who don't know, that's when the Big 12's current grant of rights expires, and moves are already being made to clear a path for OU to potentially enter the Big Ten once that happens. https://247sports.com/college/oklahoma/Board/103683/Contents/FOX-SportsBTN-talking-to-OU-about-buying-Tier-3-rights-from-OU-119647264/
  5. The scholarship was already burned by the middle of last week, so... It was confirmed by a UNL rep, per https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/gebbia-misses-practice-unl-says-he-s-no-longer-enrolled/article_ff094f24-aa1c-11e8-89a9-af69c0a89491.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=user-share
  6. It's burned. Two years of scholarships at Nebraska, leaving us nothing to show for it. Hey, Bunch counts as a Riley recruit! It wouldn't take much for him to pass the combined total wins of Tanner Lee, Potatoes O'Brien, and Tristan Gebbia at Nebraska! Go back and watch the spring game again and see how you feel about Bunch. Most of us thought he looked pretty decent, and Frost called him a "pleasant surprise". Did you forget Ron Kellogg? Fyfe was never a starter in 2013, looks like he played a single snap that year.
  7. @Branno The north watch party isn't at Third Base anymore, it's at Sam's Boat. We'll see how the crowd is this year, I imagine just about anywhere will have a better crowd of Husker fans this year than they did last year.
  8. @Ziebol Seriously? You honestly think generic black bars look just as good as the bas-relief sculptures of some legendary Huskers?
  9. Part of what makes me cringe is the way it's just slapped on top of the old entrance, covering up the Nebraska logo. They could've at least matched the arch of the entrance - it's not like non-rectangular screens can't be built. And I still really hope they do something more with the gate, as the new one as it stands is easily a big step backwards from the old one.
  10. We'll see how it looks during the game, but to be honest, I don't like it. To me, Memorial Stadium has a very stately feel, and this kinda cheapens it, I think.
  11. #OnceANebraskaStudent, maybe. It's not like he ever played in a game for us, or was a walk-on that stuck around for four years without seeing the field for sheer love of the Big Red. In the end, he's basically like a recruit that commits to Nebraska, then flips to another school at the last minute. In a way he's even worse - a recruit that flips just before signing day doesn't burn a scholarship for two years like Gebbia did.
  12. There's football on Sundays? Too late for this year, the scholarship is burned.
  13. Who cares? If he's gone, he's gone, and I don't really care what happens after that.
  14. Probably safe to say that he won't be around next year, only question is whether he'll still be around this year. If he's looking to transfer now, he needs to do it ASAP. For all we know, he spent the morning sending messages out to other coaches.
  15. Solich's famous road trip to Omaha to visit the Crouch family. I kinda view that as an early symptom that Solich was losing his grip on the team (including coaches), if he ever really had a good one in the first place.
  16. They were told Saturday evening, so this would be the second day...
  17. A basic inside zone run. Followed a play or two later by Martinez taking it to the house.
  18. I've been saying all off-season that we've got the guys to have a scary D-line, if they're actually allowed to play that way. Though as much as anything, it might be an indication that the O-line still has a long way to go to recover from Cav & co.
  19. I'll be at Sam's Boat here in Austin, watching with the rest of the Capital of Texas Nebraskans.
  20. The difference between the two systems is that Diaco says "Don't give up the big play," while Chinander says "Go make a big play of your own." Passive vs aggressive. Chin also kinda shrugs at the 3-4 label - he thinks it's kind of a silly distinction.
  21. Leave that song to Virginia Tech. And if we change the song, I'd still prefer something that's not so old. Sirius was about 12 years old when we first started using it, while Enter Sandman is now 27 years old.
  22. @GSG Just water. Spraying is really just for moisture, anything you spray on is going to be in too small quantity to really contribute much to the flavor.
  23. @GSG Yeah, I'm not too fond of brushes and mops, for just that reason. Sauces I usually just spread with a butter knife or something, and if I want more moisture I use a spray bottle.
  24. @GSG I notice that the bark is really uneven on those ribs, and pretty thin on most of the rack. Did you try to brush a sauce or mop on, and end up lifting off part of the rub or something?
