  1. Saw this on Rivals Football Recruiting Home Page (Free): Can Nebraska land running back Al-Terek McBurse? -- Mike from Omaha, Neb. ----- Bo Pelini is looking to land a back from the Sunshine State. This one is interesting because Al-Terek McBurse had a big senior season. McBurse, from Winter Springs (Fla.) High, averaged 12 yards per carry and rushed for more than 2,300 yards and 23 touchdowns in 10 games. In the season finale, McBurse rushed for 241 yards and three scores against Casselberry (Fla.) Lake Howell to break the Seminole County single-season rushing record, formerly held by Marquette Smith. McBurse's productive season makes him one of the hottest running backs in the Sunshine State in a year loaded with some big-time running backs. Heading into the season, McBurse had just a few offers. But as the season progressed, the offers really started to come in. He has made one official visit, to Nebraska earlier this month. McBurse is scheduled to visit Purdue this weekend and Kansas the first weekend in December. Although McBurse won't name a leader, he was impressed by his visit to Nebraska. He loved the offensive scheme, how they utilize the running backs and the coaching staff, especially coach Bo Pelini. If there is one team to keep an eye on, it's Georgia Tech. McBurse always has liked the Yellow Jackets. Another possibility is USF. But right now it's safe to say Nebraska has a great chance to pull McBurse out of Florida. The Huskers also are in the mix another Florida running back, Tampa Gaither's Jarvis Giles. He had been a Tennessee commitment, but Phil Fulmer's dismissal caused Giles to decommit. His commitment may come down to South Carolina, where he has had an official visit, and Nebraska.
  2. Add Husker Commit Nick Ash and Bennie Logan, a DE from Coushatta (La.) Red River.
  3. I agree....I can see next years class being pretty damn impressive too if we can get a bowl win and continue the on field success!
  4. Interesting that we are looking at him as a WR. Maybe that will persuade him in our direction. He's definately got the size and speed to play wideout!
  5. Maybe it was classroom related?
  6. Hes committed to Ball State already....
  7. Man...If we can impress either one of these guys it would be huge for us. Not only could we be getting a solid player, but it could be the start of a new pipeline being established in the Northeast.
  8. I said the same exact thing when I saw that run. He looked pretty good even though there was nobody near him...
  9. I'm pretty sure we will make room for Gabe Lynn! I like Brown though, we need physical CBs to be able to compete with all the talent at WR in the Big XII...
  10. I think we are content to take one RB this year. Sure we would've liked to pick up a David Oku or Jarvis Giles, but I think Bo would rather pick up a stud in next year's class rather than just taking the next available player. Also, I don't see RB as an immediate need right now. We have a lot of other holes to fill, mainly on the defensive side of the ball.
  11. Yup....ESPN has it confirmed too: Bruins snare Hawaiian RB Dalton Hilliard Dalton Hilliard has committed to UCLA over offers from Arizona, Utah, Washington, Stanford, Hawaii, Colorado, Nebraska and Notre Dame. He told ESPN's Greg Biggins, "UCLA is where I've wanted to go for a long time. I loved my visit there and felt so comfortable on the campus. I wanted to take this last visit to Arizona to have one more school to compare UCLA with but once I got home, I knew UCLA was the place for me." "They have a lot of young running backs so they want me to come in at corner or even slot receiver. It really doesn't matter to me, I'll play whatever gets me on the field the fastest. Right now, I'm just relieved to have the process over." ESPN's Billy Tucker elaborated on the news, "UCLA continues its hot streak on the recruiting with the pickup of Hilliard our No. 37 ranked running back in a class filled with great depth at the position. We have had a chance to evaluate Hilliard extensively on film and in person and have come away very impressed with the well-rounded skills he brings to the table." "He is a bit sturdier in-person than his measurables on paper suggest; with some added size and strength he could grow into a quality back with the Bruins if he remains on offense. The type of back who can hurt you with both his inside and outside running skills as well as his polished hands out of the backfield. Hits the hole hard with good pad level, balance and burst out of his cuts; has deceptive strength as a downhill runner. He flashes the perimeter speed and quickness needed to bounce it outside as well and an extra gear when turns the corner." "The Punahou School in Hawaii also boasts the nation's No. 1 overall linebacker in Manti Te'o, and head coach Kale Ane appears equally impressed with Hilliard." Ane said, "Dalton is having an outstanding year. He has run the ball both inside and outside showing great speed and acceleration." "He has also returned punts and kick-offs as well as playing defensive back and some slot receiver for us. He loves to compete and always rises to the occasion. He continues to work on his defensive technique and is getting better all the time."
