  1. Are we still in the running on this one?
  2. We win big this Friday and put your seat belt on... exactly what I was thinking and what I am hoping for. The list of unofficials and officials is impressive, this could get really fun over the next few weeks! BRING DA MUSTARD! Holy crap, we have 3 4 recruits and almost all the rest 3 zzz. The class is looking very good! Plus the redshirts frosh we'll have coming in next year are looking real solid too! Still could use a few break out WRs, a great TE and stellar RB, but we are pretty good for now at those positions--especially RB. Well if several of the players coming to the game tomorrow commit, most of what you listed will be taken care of. I would like to see a dominant DT or 2, Latu and Corey Adams would be really nice. I think also a true corner would be great. Burkhead and Giles would nice also. Hmmm maybe this will all happen?
  3. May be coming on an unofficial to the CU game tomorrow. That would be huge.
  4. I probably should retract that after I heard the OV list. But Kinnie, Burkhead and Heimuli should all make it in. Should being the key word. I really want to see Burkhead in Red.
  5. that i can believe. in so far as the rampant speculation of coach ekeler going to KSU... that just *may* happen. ekeler and snyder had a pretty good relationship. i can see this scenario playing out... snyder becomes head coach. snyder asks ekeler to come on as his defensive coordinator. synder does the brown/muschamp - bowden/fischer-thing and trains ekeler to take over. year five, snyder steps down and ekeler takes over. all of this is plausible, but does not address the main issue which is... KSU sucks. I may be one of the few, but I just don't see this. Eck may be a great coach in waiting, but I just don't think Snyder takes a chance on him as a D-Coordinator with that small of a resume. Heck Eck doesn't even call plays now, not sure how much involvement he has in game day decisions with the brothers running the show, other than working with the LB's. I know he must be involved in the game day prep and all of that, but I think calling plays is another level. I think he knows he isn't ready for that yet. I guess KSU may offer him a lateral offer, but at this point I think Eck is more loyal to Bo than Snyder. Bo has taken him to 2 different places now and has him under his wing.
  6. I can..........what are you basing this on? Before I start this, I HATE KSU. Their fans are the worst, well at least as bad as CU. While his resume is not as impressive as some, but still very, very respectable, if you consider where he did it I would argue that he should be considered among the elite. I hate KSU, but I have to give the man his due. He was 136-68-1 in his tenure there. Consider that KSU was the WORST team in history, they were the only program with 500+ losses. In the 51 years prior to Snyder, KSU only had 130 wins TOTAL. Snyder eclipsed that in only 17 years. When he took over, KSU was riding a 27 game losing streak. He took that program with horrible facilities and location and made them a power program. They went to 11 straight bowl games, he won 11 games 6 out 7 years at one point, he won a Big XII title and had shots at 2 others, and just missed out on playing for a NT. Heck even Barry Switzer said that what Snyder did should make him "Coach of the Century." Coach of the Century? Give me a break. Yeah, the guy can coach but he doesnt compare to Tom Osborne No arguement here. It is not unusual for Barry to go overboard with his comments like that, but the respect level has to be there for him to consider saying it.
  7. I wonder what they said to their respective Husband and Girlfriend after that? Ummm Honey it didn't mean anything, Honest!!
  8. LJS just did a quick look on this in their blog section, at this point you can count anything lower than the Sun Bowl out. ESPN and the others are way off base. Trying to get some Insight on Husker bowl picture While Notre Dame's loss on Saturday was viewed as a positive by Husker fans (seemingly putting Nebraska in prime position for a Gator Bowl bid), it's also got me trying to figure out what exactly might happen to Nebraska if it were to lose Friday. I'm starting to wonder if the Insight Bowl comes back into play if Ralphie stuns Nebraska. Just consider that the Gator would probably not be inclined to take a 7-5 Nebraska team and neither would the Alamo Bowl. I don't think Nebraska can slip past the Sun Bowl, but there's a slim chance. From my understanding, the Sun Bowl has to take a Big 12 team if the Gator doesn't. But if NU did lose Friday and the Gator selected another Big 12 team, suddenly the Sun might be presented with the option of taking Nebraska or Notre Dame. In that case, you wonder if Notre Dame isn't the pick by the Sun. Notre Dame has a strong representation of supporters down that way and bowls have that whole Notre Dame fascination no matter how bad the Irish are. (That would put NU on the Insight Bowl's radar.) It gets kind of complicated here, however, because the Sun can't take the Irish over a Big East team if the conference produces at least six seven-win teams. Rutgers has a chance to become that sixth team this week. So if it's between Nebraska and a Big East team for the Sun, you got to think the pick is NU. Nebraska's best bet: Take care of biz Friday, keep an eye open Saturday to make sure USC handles Notre Dame, and a trip to Jacksonville seems very likely. Stewart Mandel did a good breakdown of the bowl situation for SI.com. He projects Nebraska in the Gator Bowl against Georgia Tech. He has Florida State in the Chick-fil-A Bowl (formerly the Peach Bowl). The Chick-fil-A gets to pick its ACC team ahead of the Gator. It distresses me to a mild extent that the Peach Bowl is now called that but I'll try to carry on. ESPN's "experts" put Nebraska in the Insight Bowl or Alamo. As shown here, the Insight is a real longshot, so take that opinion for what it's worth. And CBS Sportsline has the same Husker projection I'd make right now: NU versus Florida State in the Gator. We'll know soon enough. And props to Turner Gill. Because Buffalo won its division in the MAC, the 7-4 Bulls are guaranteed a bowl game.

  10. You're kidding right?! If I was a football player, NU of course. Basketball player, Duke of course. I agree with JonahLomu. What elite football player is going to choose Duke over Nebraska? If academics are a strong priority, then I could see it. What about that DT from Maryland that just commited to Stanford over NU?
  11. Wow underselling KU and MU a bit aren't they? Yes. This guy suckles at the teats of Bill Snyder. He was also slobbering over how he "revolutionized" college football by scheduling more cream puffs than Mangino can eat in one sitting. Bleah - this is the WORST thing to happen in recent memory. I almost drove into the ditch. LMAO! I think I would have had a hard time driving straight after hearing all of that!
  12. WOW, WOW, WOW! Welcome Dijon!!! Go Big Red. I feel another recruiting roll coming on, should be fun!!!!

  15. I don't get the statements that Syracuse is not in the top tier of historical programs. Ernie Davis, Jim Brown, Donovan McNabb, Dwight Freeney, Marvin Harrison, etc. They are in the top 20 in wins all time.
  16. When I lived in Texas I used to love Shiner Bock. I love the Sam's seasonals. Brooklyn Lager is always good. Boddington is ok also. I am basically a big fan of most beers with decent flavor, I just don't like light beers.
  17. Thank you AR! I saw this earlier today when taking a break at work and said the same thing you said, "oh brother...." I was planning on making similar points when I got home and had time to do so, but you beat me to it. It is for the better because your rebuttal was by far more eloquent and thorough than what I would have written.
  18. They have a special on Buffalo on ESPN right now. Giving Turner a lot of well deserved credit for the 7-4 season.
  19. In 2012, I'm planning an experiment to see if NU fans can singlehandedly decide a presidential election . . . Where is a link to that Herbstreet rant about the Greatest CFP team poll when you need it! you mean this one: Yeah that is it!! That is freaking more hilarious every time I watch that!!
  20. This post pretty much defines three of our four losses . . . Colorado has the most anemic offense we'll face all year. The biggest threat is gonna be Tyler Hansen scrambling out of the pocket. Also, their pass D is pretty good, so we'll need to establish a ground game quickly to open things up. Just a side note. I think back to other games this year and the "caoch speak", When Pelini said "We had a good week", the Huskers seemed to play pretty well. When Pelini said "We didnt have a good week", the Huskers seemed to play pretty bad. Wonder what his comments will be this week? Well he really like the practices last week so that is encouraging. This comment has been more consistent from Bo lately, the team seems to matured a lot and fully understands how hard they need to practice in order to play well.
  21. How about VA Tech and Texas Tech...formidable opponents and we made some strides in the fourth quarters of those games to claw our way back into those games to make it interesting at the end? Maybe our weight room/conditioning changes under Bo are making a difference this year too in addition to the coaching during the game? I am actually more intrigued by the drop in points against as the game goes on. The big drop from 2nd to 3rd quarter is really nice to see. As I think about most of the wins this year, it seems that the D is on the field a lot in the 3rd and early 4th quarters because the O sputters. Nice to see that the extra time on the field doesn't translate to more points, but actually less. If the offense doesn't come out so flat in the 3rd, I think NU has more blow out games and more time for 2nd stringers. ISU and KSU games come to mind first in this category.
