  1. That is pretty much all I get from him also. I have tried to listen to him before several times and each time I keep thinking how much of an idiot he is. This is just one prime example.
  2. That there is some bitter feelings coming out, she must have done a number on you. It is ok man, let it all out.
  3. Check your PMs. I would need one also since you are being so generous!
  4. How are they going to pull that off? Are they going to beat CU so bad it'll somehow count for 2 losses instead of 1? No it may as well be since CU will definately lose in Lincoln! Cy is just projecting the future result.
  5. B)--> QUOTE(Husker B @ Nov 12 2008, 11:37 AM) 378063[/snapback] You're right caveman! Sincerely, the guy who posted above you Yeah you beat me to it, but great minds think alike!!!!
  6. Anyone remember Thunder Collins? THAT was a recruiting bust.
  7. If you think this is ridiculous then I think you missed the point. Mitch Sherman is right about the stadium being full the ENTIRE game since well before you were born.
  8. Maybe I guess. I am certaintly not buying the Blackshirt issue.
  9. Well that means CU will have some motivation to beat NU next game. Needing one win to get to 6-6, NU should be at 7-4 going in.
  10. I agree with you, but we all need to remember to not get unrealistic expectations again because that just brings down the whole damn fanbase when all of us get like that. I don't think we have to worry about this with Bo as our coach though because he wants and expects the best. He wants those Big XII titles and NC trophies because it makes his job that much easier as far as recruiting goes. I agree BRI. the prospect of us possibly winning out and going 9-3 both excites me and scares me. I hope people dont get unrealistic expectations Well, going 9-3 is kind of impossible because we already have 4 losses. I stand by that my assertion of a husker team with anywhere from 1-4 losses contingent upon quarterback play next year is quite reasonable. As a side note, I grow weary of predicting 4 and 5 loss seasons, which I (and a lot of other people) have been doing for 6 years now. There is nothing wrong with getting excited for next year and I think I have sufficiently tempered my enthusiasm. I think Nebraska will be back next year. Not national championship back, but back to the point where we will be in the top 25 every week. Next year we gain relevance again. thanks... I meant 4. the 9 win part is what I am concerned with. i think some fans will look at that and think the next logical step is a big 12 title... I dont think we are going to be at that point by next year Just curious as to what you predicted this year? I saw a whole lot of 7-5 predictions on this board, also quite a few at 6-6. 8-4, and maybe 9-4, is a real possibility. Could you saw Bo overachieved by going 9-4 this year? He did after all take over a team with one of the worst defenses in the country the previous year. Would that mean that he underachieves next year by going 7-5? Should we expect a drop down to 5-7 like we did last year? I don't think it is unfair to think this team could at least win 8-9 games in the regular season next year. The level of talent is not taking a dive down, in fact it should be better overall. Look how many players Bo has redshirting, the team may be a bit younger but definately more talented. You will not see 5-6 walkons contributing like this year. The D-Fence WILL be much improved next year, of that I have NO doubt.
  11. If the standard for a blackshirt were playing up to the level of a 94-97 defense, we probably wouldn't have blackshirts most years. The goal HAS to be obtainable or it actually will become a joke. thank you. some people seem to think that we used to be a top 5 defenses every year. I am really getting tired of this. Thank you BO! Let's move on!
  12. So you're saying it was creatine? or something in his protein shakes? Or was he smoking saliva? (Tonight's Dr. Phil subject) Sorry..Not to make light of the subject, I hope Cody is able to finish out on the team and wish him luck in his future. He was one of the bright spots on the team this year. If this guy is truthful, my original reason seems to have traction. Steroids. I doubt it is steroids, but possibly a supplement or stimulant with a banned ingredient. Who knows, I hope Cody gets everything worked out and makes it back on the field. Last I checked Steriods ARE a NCAA worthy violation. So if the poster is to be believed that this incident is "Not NCAA, and not Law Enforcement worthy," then I don't think this is the reason.
  13. OK, you convinced me. Helu runs for 200 and 4 TDs. Ganz throws for 300 and comes out in the 4th quarter. Witt fumbles a snap. And in a surprise move, Bo puts Suh in at QB. The big man runs the option and takes it to the house after all the defenders fall over themselves getting out of the way!!!!!! Next year's offense is born.
  14. Alright Zebop, you've run your mouth enough. You beat KU by 10 then suddenly you're calling for wins against KU next year? Keep in mind that you lose your QB and the game next year is in Lawrence. We return our entire offense, and lose our crappy linebackers. We'll see how you fair in Lawrence. As for my prediction, Michael, yes, I admit I predicted a 10-2 season. I didn't expect Texas Tech to go GANGBUSTERS and start blowing the doors off their opponents. Neither did I expect a freshman kicker to beat us with 2 seconds left in USF. Nor did I ever think a first year coach of Nebraska would be able to beat us after we smoked you guys last year. I also didn't expect Texas to somehow IMPROVE after losing Jamal Charles and Limas Sweed, and a ton of players on defense!! I'm still shocked how that happend. Now we have to play Texas and Missouri back to back. So yes, 6-6 is a strong possibility. Just be glad your beloved Huskers don't have to play the schedule my Hawks have played. You saw how you did in Norman (Game over after a quarter). I would stop flapping my gums if I were you cause there is still a lot of football left and if you lose to KSuck how stupid will ya'll look? Not really into this whole arguement, but I really don't get this one. Haven't you looked at the schedules for both teams lately? Below are the schedules for both teams. The current W-L record for each opponent is on the very right. Schedules look very similar to me. -Kansas 8/30 Florida International W (4-5) 9/06 Louisiana Tech W (5-4) 9/12 @ South Florida L (6-3) 9/20 Sam Houston State W (4-4) 10/04 @ Iowa StateW (2-8) 10/11 Colorado W (5-5) 10/18 @ Oklahoma L (9-1) 10/25 Texas Tech L (10-0) 11/01 Kansas State W (4-6) 11/08 @ Nebraska L (6-4) 11/15 Texas (9-1) 11/29 Missouri (8-2) ---Overall Opponent Win/Loss record YTD: 72-43, 62.6 win % -Nebraska 8/30 Western Michigan W (8-2) 9/06 San Jose State W (6-4) 9/13 New Mexico State W (3-6) 9/27 Virginia Tech L (6-3) 10/04 Missouri L (8-2) 10/11 @ Texas Tech L (10-0) 10/18 @ Iowa State W (2-8) 10/25 Baylor W (3-7) 11/01 @ Oklahoma L (9-1) 11/08 Kansas W (6-4) 11/15 @ Kansas State (4-6) 11/28 Colorado (5-5) ---Overall Opponent Win/Loss record YTD: 70-48, 59.3 win % Yeah....real similar....where is Nebraska's trip to South Florida? Your game against V-Tech was in Nebraska. Where is your game against Texas? Oh, that's right. You played Baylor. Please! Plus you had Missouri at home. We have to play those punks on a neutral field. I will give you that your conference schedule is tougher simply because of the one team difference, BU vs. UT. However the non-conference schedules are not even close. Overall W-L comparison shows this: KU (19-16, 54.3 win %) vs. NU (23-15, 60.5%). For NU: WMU is 8-2 and getting votes in the poles, VT is 6-3 and just knocked off a ranked team, heck even SJS is 6-4. For KU their signature loss, South Florida, is decent, but 3 losses in their last 4, making them 1-3 in the horrible Big East, shows that they aren't elite as they were made out to be. The much better non-conference schedule makes up for one big difference in the conference IMO, but hey opinions vary!

It obviously has to be a program that wants to move to the Big XII, Iowa or Illinois don't fit that mold. The Big X/Little XI, is a cushy conference to be in. National conference in exposure, a lot of revenue, no conference title game to worry about, etc. A Texas school or maybe someone like BYU might be interested.
  18. Why is it that NE with a new unproven QB will at worse will lose 3-4 games. But this whole thread is built upon what other teams are losing thus allowing NE to do well. This includes mentioning that K-State, Oklahoma, MU and TT will all lose their best players, allowing NE to earn wins. IF by your reasoning NU can not only compete, but flurish why cant MU, Oklahoma & TT? I would argue that those 3 teams, even with the loss of current players still have more offensive talent than Nebraska. Including a number of young players that all ready see lots of PT. Unlike Nebraska who is banking on 'potential'. I understand this is a nebraska board, but I also enjoy the football talk. I look at all teams with an unbiased approach. I know my team is losing alot of players at the end of the season. I also know that they have a ton of young talent that has gotten alot of time this year. What I dont know is how it will gel and work next year. But I will tell you this. MU clearly had more talent than NE this year. I dont expect that to change in one year. I also know that OU is head and shoulders above MU right now, that wont change in one year either. You all should know that OU is a world above you, and unrealistic expictations only lead to disappointment. I WANT NU to do well, I really do. (as long as you finish second to MU ) But lets not jump the gun. You are right were I thought you would be this year ( I said 7-5, 8-4 if you beat VT or KU). Good enough to beat teams you should ( you haven't gotten bit in the a** by a lowly team this year) but not able to really beat the top teams. I guess what I'm saying is you may very well make the 'jump', but you my finish 3rd or 4th in the north. WHO KNOWS AT THIS POINT. Any way The original poster did put a lot of faith in what other teams are losing, and if you read the majority of the responses everyone is thinking along the same path you are. Good teams don't rebuild, they reload. Fans of NU more than anyone should know this. OU and TT are not going away just because QB's go pro. MU has a lot of young talent, IMO next year will tell us just how good of a job Pinkle has really done more than anything he has done up to this point. The exception to this is KSU, if Freeman does go pro and the way recruiting went for them I would agree that they drop down. I think people writing NU off as a not much better than this year are mistaken though. NU will be better, obviously the QB will determine how far they will go. The D-Line should be down right nasty next year. The LB's will be MUCH faster and talented, though young. The DB's can only get better, again we will have more talent and less Walk On's contributing. O-Line will be good again, 3 returning starters plus Ricky Henry makes for a good start. They also play 8-10 guys a game so there is a lot of experience there. Receivers will be as good, and maybe better. RB will be good as Roy Helu should be the man. Overall NU will be better and should start getting some wins over ranked teams. QB play will determine just how many wins as teams load up to stop what should be a good running game and dare NU to beat them in the air.
  19. The spread was even basically for KU, a ten point win. Spreads in college are not as good of an indicator as they are in the pros.
  20. Plus, I hear he puts his pants on both legs at the same time.
  21. Wow I guess you are looking forward to BBall season already?
