  1. You can try channelsurfing.net, I watched the VT game that way since NY was showing the PSU-IL game and my cable provider couldn't pull their heads out of their 5th point of contact and get the ESPN Gameplan PPV to work right.
  2. You know I thought the same thing. The biggest disappointment in that list was VT. The week leading up to NMS was a good practice week, this was by far their best practice in the first 3 game weeks. The team went into the bye week with a lot of momentum that I think they lost due to the lower intensity of that week. I think it took a couple of weeks to get back up to the right level of mental concentration, as it appeared earlier in the season. I think this is a direct reflection of how young this team is, it is still learning what it takes to be succesful. If they come out and have a good game and W against ISU, maybe that will make it all click in their heads after 2 straight good weeks.
  3. I don't know about getting up to 177 players again, but Bo did bring in well over 30 walkons for the '08 class, basically doubling the recruiting class for that year. The total roster has 144 players on it, a big increase already in just one year. Question is will time and effort be placed on developing these players as was done in the past. Cally never did this. Bo has been preaching the best players play no matter where they came from. So far the starting D has multiple walkons starting or getting significant playing time. Indications from practices in Spring and Fall is that all players got reps and an equal chance to make the 2-deep roster. The other is in recruiting. The staff has to spend the resources to scout enough players to bring in a class of 50-60 players vs. the 20-30 a normal college brings in. Can they put enough time in to still land the big time talent needed to mix with the walk ons?
  4. I don't understand why people seem to think DTs need to be 6'3" to be successful. It's all about leverage down in the trench - sometimes height is a disadvantage. Thats exactly the players Bo has gone after so far. Both of the DT commits we have are right around 6'0". I think that when you are lower to the ground you can cause more problems in the backfield and get more pressure. Does make it harder for those DT's to bat down passes at the line of scrimmage though. With the influx of shorter QB's, a taller DT might be helpful.
  5. I am pretty sure that they had NU as #5 after the loss to MU. At least they took us out of the bottom 10 this week.
  6. True enough, never hurst to be really smart and a upstanding individual as well.
  7. Which has worked wonders for Freeman at Kstate! I have my money on Spano. He has the arm AND legs to be a great asset in the new nebraska offense. All I know of Lee is that he didn't have much of a senior year in HS. But given that he is the only other QB to see snaps, maybe the coaches are seeing something we're not? Witt also has seen time, in fact I think he has more snaps?? Someone confirm?
  8. getting fumbles is simply about having a lot of players in on the tackles so that one or more of them can hit at the ball to knock it loose. having team speed is a more important trait to allow this IMO.
  9. Better caliber D-lineman to force the issue. Holding is most often a result of getting beat.
  10. To each his own I guess. I live in NY and I try to listen to the stream of USC on KOZN while I am at work just to hear the Bill from NY segments. I can't stop laughing for several minutes usually.
  11. i have a feeling that is what is going to happen in the offseason... but its too late in the year to do it at this point.... i'd do it now... he's hardly playing as is anyway. he wouldnt be any help now, but he would be ready by the spring instead of the fall... maybe even the bowl game if we make it. what little experince he might get would be huge. its just like getting your backup QB in the game How much would you expect him to play? How many reps in practice? Not sure they are going to take away too many snaps from the contributers just get experience for a guy who has no shot to contribute this fall. Maybe the scout team?
  12. Read "take it to the bank" and "2nd half of the season." I may not be the only realist, but there are way more kool-aid drinkers than not. Of course, I too hope we go 4-2 or 5-1. Some of you actually act like you are insulted when people have hope for their team? If we play the rest of the season like we did Saturday we will go 4-2 or 5-1..................show me actual facts that would lead me to believe if we don't play like we did Saturday we would lose all of these games. ISU-horrible team BU-not buying into it besides the QB they aren't that good. OU-good team, probably a loss. KU-ranked below TT and we have them at home. Not the same KU ISU showed that. KSU-another bad team, I've watched them more than once this season and haven't been impressed. CU-sliding downhill fast, QB is less than steller and their offense can't get going. Too many injuries. Yes, IF we play like we did Saturday. We have played 6 games - 5 uninspired performances and one good game. It is unrealistic to think we will play well 6 weeks in a row. Predicting 4-2 or 5-1 isn't hope, not unless you have a lamp with a genie inside of it. Funny because I think that given a few play changes here and there, NU could easily be 5-1 right now. They had a good chance to beat VT, made too many mistakes. The obviously had a great shot to beat TT. True enough they didn't execute well enough to beat either of those two teams by only a slim margin. Those are two teams that are ranked in the top 20 and top 10 respectively. I don't think NU is that far off from being a ranked team. I think 4-2 or 5-1 down the stretch with the way NU is playing and improving is not that far off.
  13. I wish more of the fans had this attitude. Moral victories mean nothing. Moral victories mean two things.... Jack and sh*t, and jack left town... In some ways, it is less frustrating if they lose 70-3, than losing a game that probably could have been won. i respectfully disagree It's like we're being friggin teased! And no one likes a tease... Then I wonder how Strip Clubs stayed in business......
  14. Yup, the first two didn't work very well for NU. I think the first one they called with a good drive going and MU on their heels hurt them alot
  15. Why haven't they run the option yet? It was one of the better plays this year
  16. come on Ganz, need to get the ball where he can turn and run
