    BCS poll

Hey! I'm not clearly an idiot, I just didn't pay enough attention to the game. Who played again?
  4. Haters abound. That Ball State you guys scheduled, I mean really, we must remove our rose colored glasses.... Ball State did make a bowl game you know. KU's first 4 games were CMU, SE Louisiana, Toledo, and that juggarnaut Florida International. Only 1 of those 4 played in a bowl. FI had a whopping 1-11 record last year. I believe the point to what he was saying is that your first 4 games were relatively weak with only 1 of your opponents making it to a bowl game. You got a lot of momentum going heading into Big 12 play where you didn't face OU or Texas. NU on the other hand played 4 bowl bound teams at the beginning of the season. Nevada made a bowl, Wake Forest made a bowl and finished in the top 30, USC made a bowl and finished #7 in the BCS, and Ball State made a bowl. Our nonconference was much tougher than KU's. The Wake Forest win was an ugly win that easily could have turned into a loss due to a late 4th qtr. turnover. USC completely stole any momentum whatsoever we had which resulted into a nailbighter with Ball State which we probably should have lost. There was so much hype about the #1 team coming into our house to play, and we fell completely on our face. IMO, our season would have been much better had we not played that USC game. CMU made a bowl game too, almost beat Big 10's Purdue, yet they are weak? THey are one of the best teams in the MAC, a D-1 conference.... You played a better non conference, but CMU was good, their QB was Awesome and we shut him down... Ummm, I did say that 1 of the 4 teams you played in the nonconference made a bowl which of course was CMU. You also played a team that one only 1 game the entire year. We shut Nevada down easily also, but I believe it was then undefeated and too highly ranked Boise State that went into overtime with them. Yeah! Na na na na na.. Our crappy opponents can beat up your crappy opponents.
  5. Hopefully they spell JP's last name correct on the cover. (Peter)
  6. Soon to be called, "Defending National Champion Nebraska Cornhusker Football Show" (DNCNCFS)
  7. This may be true, but different people have different interests/priorities. I probably spend too much time on here when I should be out making mopre money..But this is sometimes more interesting. (Except in the offseason-I shouldn't keep responding to topics like this) There's plenty of people around to worry about overpopulation or gas prices.
  8. I agree Daughtry is freakin amazing!!!! Roger Daltrey? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Daltrey
  9. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/foot...n.ap/index.html OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Jack Mildren, a former lieutenant governor and the first quarterback in the University of Oklahoma's vaunted wishbone offense, died on Thursday, his brother said. He was 58. Mildren, who had been undergoing treatment for stomach cancer, died at Integris Baptist Medical Center, spokeswoman Brooke Cayot confirmed. Mildren was diagnosed two years ago with cancer but had continued to serve as a vice chairman for Arvest Bank and host a daily sports radio show on WKY 930-AM. Legislators at the state Capitol observed a moment of silence for the former lieutenant governor, who walked the halls there in the 1990s. He ran for governor in 1994 as the Democratic Party nominee but lost to Republican Frank Keating. Mildren was the quarterback for Oklahoma's high-powered offense in 1971, when the Sooners set an NCAA record that still stands by averaging 472.4 rushing yards. Mildren had arrived in Norman out of Cooper High School in Abilene, Texas, where he set passing records. But as a junior at OU in 1970, the Sooners got off to a sluggish start and coach Chuck Fairbanks switched to the wishbone offense. The Sooners racked up 5,196 yards on 813 rushes that season, finishing 11-1 by defeating Auburn in the Sugar Bowl. Oklahoma's only loss came in the so-called "Game of the Century," when top-ranked Nebraska beat the second-ranked Sooners 35-31 despite four touchdowns from Mildren -- two rushing and two passing. Mildren finished the season with 1,289 yards rushing -- the most in school history for a quarterback -- and 20 touchdowns before being drafted by the Baltimore Colts.
  10. If thats the way you want to look at it......ummmm ok. I've only seen the first American Idol but I had to watch this one because they additioned in Omaha and plus there was a girl from Sioux City who made it to Hollywood. So ya I watched American Idol this year and I could give a rats ass if anyone thinks that my man card should be revoked........thats just retarded. Maybe if you had a wife or a girlfriend, you just might know where i'm coming from. I was relieved my Wife stopped watching it after the 1st year..Now if we can just get het to stop watching Survivor. I sometimes wonder why some people watch "Idol"..Is it the same reason I watch Women's Gymnastics? Then after watching the 12-14 yr old Gymnasts, I feel compelled to turn myself in to the local authorities for mentally undressing them.
  11. How about Frank Solich? (Can o Werms) But maybe raiding Turner Gills staff: They had as many sign with the NFL as we did.. "Ben Woods Signs with Cleveland Browns Buffalo punter becomes third UB player to sign with an NFL team " http://www.ubathletics.buffalo.edu/footbal...008-woods.shtml http://www.ubathletics.buffalo.edu/football/coaches/ Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers Jimmy Williams http://www.ubathletics.buffalo.edu/footbal.../williams.shtml Joesph Dailey (Grad assistant) "Turner Gill Named MAC Coach of the Year" http://www.ubathletics.buffalo.edu/footbal...2007-gill.shtml Toby Williams ..Not sure where he is now..
  12. Rush ****ing Limbaugh? Is he still on the air? And what does he have to do with our Huskers? I thought he was from Missery.
  13. "I" state......is that indiana state?? Idaho State Why did they cancel the Miss Ebonics beauty pagent? (Nobody wanted to be Miss I-da-hoe).
  14. I would have to agree with you. I was a little worried that we would be losing at least 10 players due to the new coaching staff (i.e., those players who agreed to play for the original staff), but so far we only have had two leave? Wow, I must say that's pretty shocking. Hopefully that's all the transfers there will be. I was a little surprised we lost as many recruits as we did..I mean, it's probably natural to want to follow a coach you have a relationship with, but in the past, we also seemed to recruit guys that just wanted to play for NEBRASKA. Not sure why someone like Gabbert wouldn't feel comfortable with Pelini/Watson, unless he believed Callihan gave him the best shot at the NFL, and maybe Pinkel could too.
  15. I read a lot on this web that most GBR fan"s don"t like CU so I say go crap pound on them. Plus I said to crap pound on KU and also KSU, but that can change. I"m still okay with crap pound on KSU by NU cause Those purple puker"s are annyoing, but I think my Tiger"S should take the job of crap pounding on KU since they our top rival in many sport ofr manyyears. The guy who is Jayhawk on this web will understand, because I can be sure he will want KU try that on Mizzou. crap pound simple TuffTiger I cannot argue with Tuff Tiger on this, and am not exactly sure what crap pounding is, but it sounds like something MU and KU would partake in with regards to each other.... Like Monkees throwin poop at each other?
  16. They'd blend in to the Pac-10 pretty well..Where at least half the teams wear yella pants at some time or another...ASU, USC, Oregon, ...who am I missing? Hides pee stains rather well.
  17. No guarantees Big10+2 would probably be smart enough not to have a conference Championship game and some of the teams might not play each other.
  18. Our "New Offense"...Four yards and a cloud of dust can of beer?
  19. Plus..there's too much of a chance of it involving a rematch. Too much of a step toward playoffs. Any loss is big, but a loss at the end of the season is worse while we're basing the final ratings on Bowl games. I'm not sure it makes anybody look "foolish", but it would be funny if the SEC was the only conference with a CSG after they've beaten on each other the whole season.
