  1. Oh it's very possible. I don't know if Green is actually worse but as the poster above noted it could be like people calling for Dailey when Lord was stinking it up. As soon as Dailey got the starting job people wished Lord was still around. Round and round we go. In fairness to Joe Dailey, and nothing against Lord, he was an option QB thrown into a terrible situation of trying to run the WCO. I would have hated to see Jammal Lord run that offense. Yikes! Who knows how good Dailey could have been in Solich's option offense. Talk about square peg, round hole.
  2. Bo did say, "At some point you have to quit banging a square peg against a round hole" in reference to the offense. I don't think this had anything to do with QB but more the identity of the offense. Maybe power football gameplan? I would love to see that, it would be fun to watch.
  3. I think taking an 0-3 team and predicting them to win out is wishful thinking from a Missouri writer. Last I checked Blaine Gabbert's ankle doesn't play defense.
  4. I feel bad for him a little bit. First of all, the kid is obviously the best we have. I know that isn't saying a lot right now, but its true. Furthermore, just like Lee and everyone else this is his first year starting. He doesn't have Swift and Peterson around to take a burden off of him. I think he is putting too much pressure on himself, and it is causing him to think too much on the field. On top of that, he should only be a RS Sophomore. Thanks Callahan, another great decision. He has made mistakes, but after reading T_O_B's post earlier, I am through with throwing blame out. It makes me depressed so I am going to pump sunshine this week. Who knows, maybe we fix it all. I truly believe it is mental and a vocal leader can turn this around. Mental mistakes are turned around much faster than technique mistakes.
  5. You know something T_O_B? You're 100% right. I have spent a lot of time complaining and bitching about lots of things. I guess I just want it fixed, because it hurts me badly to see the team I love struggling so much. This has been a part of me since I took my first breath, and Husker Football will be something I will cherish until the day the Lord takes me from this earth away from this fine state. Thank you, for allowing me to remember why it hurts me so much. GO BIG RED!
  6. Ok, great in theory. The bold part.....Who pays these people? How do we educate children? How do we build roads? How do we field a military to protect our citizens from all the other "governments" in the world? How do we make sure there isn't hate crime? How do we punish murderers and rapists? How do we verify that medicines are safe? How do we do our best to have safe food that doesn't kill people or make them sick? You see the fundamental flaw with this argument is that people want to be led. It will never change. Some are leaders, and someone will always come and lead a group of people. All those things listed above, those things have to be done. If we have no government, do you know who would take over those parts of society? Corporations. You can't honestly want that, can you? The best thing about America, it is a lot of people leading our country instead of the ideas of one person. You could have a facist dictator killing you because you were born in an area he doesn't like in his own country. Does that sound better.
  7. I would recognize Ganz anywhere... But Husker QB failures like Sam Keller I would just assume forget about. Dude, how much blow did they do the night that pic was taken?
  8. Straight from the Board's rules.... That should about cover the "no rules broken" argument. It is, ironically, rule #1.
  9. Shawn Watson was BC's OC for one season, 2007. Even then he didn't call plays, Callahan did. I understand frustration with Watson, but lets at least argue with facts. He called like 1/2 of a game against Texas A&M, then Callahan took back over. You're right. My bad. That's why I shouldn't post when I haven't had any sleep. I was just saying that I'm still seeing the same type of play calling where you drive the ball, it works well, then you decide to pass the rest of the game because you get down a couple points. That's how Callahan did it and it still seems to be that way. I am run biased though. Not trying to be a dick on that post, believe me. I agree whole-heartedly with you. Why we have to try to "outsmart" the opposition when we are clearly superior athletically baffles me.
  10. Shawn Watson was BC's OC for one season, 2007. Even then he didn't call plays, Callahan did. I understand frustration with Watson, but lets at least argue with facts.
  11. No...it wasn't a high school "conference" championship. I don't even know if they produce championship rings for DII, DIII or NAIA conference championships. Corey McKeon? No. Sam Keller. No. Keep following weaklings. 27-12, TigerTim. BTW, congrats on playing in the NCAA and having a championship ring...Just so you know, I have won a Nobel Prize, Heisman Trophy, Lombardi Trophy, Larry O' Brien Trophy, Stanley Cup, a Grammy, and an Oscar. The internet is a cool thing, right? You can be anything you want to be
  12. Valid point, my point is I feel the same way for the receivers. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, so they say. Valid as well. Maybe it is just a vicious cycle of Lee not having confidence in the WR's, so he "aims" the ball trying to make the perfect throw. Then the WR's lose confidence in Lee and drop ones that hit them in the numbers. Yea, I'm pretty sure all I know is this offense is broke. I just think that 85% of their problems are between the ears, not a lack of talent or otherwise. Agree 100%. Somebody, coach or player, needs to grab these kids by the facemask and lead them.
  13. I played NCAA football with a conference championship ring to prove it. Keep trying. Come on man, a lot of us on here played sports in college. Doesn't mean we spout off about it all the time.... Yeah...they're called intramurals and video games. I'm talking about wearing the flag. Listen here asshat, I'm not going to get into this whose dick is bigger debate because it isn't what an adult does. This is the last thing I am saying, and then I am ignoring you. Don't act like all of us "fans" never played real intercollegiate athletics. Some of us, including myself, did. Get off your high horse, it doesn't make you an expert on the future. If you played, like you say you did, you would know that when there is talent in the locker room sometimes all it takes is one spark and a team turns it around almost immediately. A leader is what is required. However, the way you stand on a mountain and tell everybody how great you were tells me two things. 1) you probably never saw the field and used that as a conversation starter "I play for JackBall State, how are you?" or, 2) you played one year and you quit because it was too hard for you. Jason Peter, Tommie Frazier, Joel Mackovica, Aaron Graham.... all ex-Huskers that are fans and are saying the same thing we all are but doing it ON THE RADIO. I would say they all know what it's like to "wear the flag." I've never heard anyone use that phrase, and trust me, I've been around a lot of people who had that stupid logo on their uniform somewhere.
  14. He said he won a conference championship, so wasn't Callahan-era. Last thing I'm going to say on this, he says NCAA football. Not Division 1, NCAA. Could be UNK.......
  15. Valid point, my point is I feel the same way for the receivers. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, so they say.
  16. I played NCAA football with a conference championship ring to prove it. Keep trying. For who? Enlighten us. Come on man, a lot of us on here played sports in college. Doesn't mean we spout off about it all the time.... This sounds like somebody who was on the team, but didn't play. I never spout off about my athletic accomplishments unless somebody asks or the conversation is moved that way. Wow.
  17. Wasn't it McNeill that caused or was right there on one of Lee's INT's that shouldn't have been? I realize that Helu was essentially the last guy to tip the ball into the hands of the Iowa State defender, but wasn't McNeill the intended target that initially bobbled and tipped the ball? After it was underthrown so much that a 5ft 9 inch LB tipped it, yes.
  18. Some have hit the nail on the head. I have trouble believing that every receiver on the football team can't catch. On every throw there are two people involved; the receiver and the passer. When you use the control method of scientific experiments, the passer is the same. The receivers are different, but the result seems to be the same. In a scientific experiment that would mean you need to change the control, change the passer and see what the result is before you can analyze fault. Lee is horribly inaccurate. History shows that the "dropsies" tend to either end right away or get continually worse. Now, when they do end quickly that is usually on the receivers. They weren't concentrating, or an issue with spin. These same WR caught the ball pretty well with Ganz. I don't remember many drops from anyone still here but Gilleyan with Ganz at QB. Here is your main problem, leadership. There is no leader on that offense. None whatsoever. Say what you want about the OL yelling at Tray, but that was at least some passion out of that side of the ball. It wasn't directed correctly, but it was passion. Watson isn't fiery, Lee isn't fiery, Helu isn't, the WR sure as hell aren't. Where are these guys with a burning desire to win at? Look at the defensive coaches. They instill a fire in their guys, those guys would run through a wall for them. Only Cotton has that right now from his guys. Say what you want about his line, those guys played with fire on Saturday. We need a passionate leader on offense. Players from every team say that is easiest from the QB position. I think A LOT would be fixed by a QB change. I just don't know if we have that QB on our roster, but I would sure as hell like to find out if that guy is there. That is all.
  19. but Knapp, I am in the mood to make him look like an idiot. It will make me feel better and shouldn't be that difficult.
  20. I personally feel, and I don't mean to start a fight here, but if you don't see the problems with Watson's gameplanning and play calling then I can't think you watched or listened to the game. An inferior opponent in your home stadium and you go away from a plan of running up the middle, that worked great to the clip of over 8 ypc on a drive, because a true freshman RB fumbled the ball trying for extra yards. The only turnover he had all day, by the way. No matter how you paint it, that is a problem.
  21. If they hold onto the ball, we can still win the Big XII North. Everybody left on the schedule is beatable, especially with good defensive play. Isn't that something to play for? Except NOW we could possibly beat K-state and yet they could win the North. The Huskers no longer control their destiny -Certain teams have to lose and the Huskers can't afford another loss- the stars have to align for it to work. (Hey, that's just what needs to happen for Watson's offense to work!) I'm not saying it can't happen - but hope for this season is fading fast. Not true, we do control our destiny. If we win out, we win the North. That does include a win against OU, but still is the reality.
  22. Based on what? post right above yours says something.....
