  1. Likely the exact same number of times that you claim the Holiday Bowl was meaningful when it comes to predicting the outcome of Saturday's game... 1:1, or more.
  2. Great! We agree on something. We're glad you don't have a player like Martinez either...
  3. I think that's a very valid point Moose. The interesting question is which TEAM will have a higher rushing total. If NU spreads the ball around and each guy (of the 3-4 options) has 70-100 yards, I'd say that's a win vs. one player having 100+. Having said that, Martinez gets such big chunks of yards at a time that it would be difficult to bet against him. That, and the fact that he touches the ball on EVERY play...
  4. Similar to how our DB's used to play (when they were dominant), are they just waiting for some holding calls in order to gauge how far they can go? If the calls don't come, then continue to push the barrier as far as the ref's will let you... That photo is pretty incriminating...
  5. Compared to the speed we're seeing, he's a bit more of a fullback than the other tailbacks. He's dependable and consistent, though he doesn't seem to have that gamebreaking flash/speed that we're seeing from Martinez, Abdullah, Turner.
  6. We are not very good. And significantly overrated...
  7. It doesn't look good at this point. Hopefully, they will wake up and play like a Pelini defense soon. The offense is seemingly a repeat of 2009. Ugh... Hopefully, they will prove us wrong. Always, Go Big Red!
  8. Not seeing this is way better than seeing this... Though not seeing it wouldn't change the ass kicking we're receiving.
  9. OK, so I retract my statment. I, obviously, should not be allowed to comment on the game predictions after consuming rum. Mea culpa... We look pathetic. Beaten like red headed step children (of which I am one, so...). Maybe we could try the FCS?
  10. Damn Iowa State hasn't exactly been easy for us to deal with in the last couple of years. I'm glad to see they're ruining somebody else's day this year instead of ours...
  11. I'm HOPING to see the offense show some better synchronization in the first half (highest priority) and then Brion Carnes as QB for the second half. TM going down is a VERY REAL possibility so preparing his backup is a NEED, not a want...
  12. I hope that they let it rest until Wisconsin. Risking an aggravation of a muscle strain is not worth it when it comes to games which are less difficult and less critical than our B1G schedule. If we cannot beat the first 4 teams with a less experienced corner, then we aren't really good enough that 1 loss is going to make much of a difference in the end result of our season.
  13. This says a great deal about you knapplc. I wanted to preserve it for the sake of posterity.
  14. No, there is no cause for genuine concern. Other than some sort of Iowa State disaster in 2009, Huskers will roll.
  15. OK, the more significant part of that statement is that WI's running game is being shut down by a very weak team. That is a surprise. Let's not forget that a weak enough defense can make any QB look like Peyton Manning (think Ok. State last year). WI is certainly a very good football team, but drawing too many conclusions (good or bad) against this type of competition is risky at best.
  16. You mean the talking heads will make stupid predictions just to create some sort of "buzz"? Weird...
  17. I have confidence in TM until proven otherwise...
  18. I agree IF there is play calling to maximize the offense. If the play calling is designed around improving the weak spots, then there may be just enough "heat" to get the game in hand and then back to "practice mode".
  19. Dude, that's, well, that's... ...hilarious!
  20. I'll give the points and take NU. After such a flat start to the year, the team and the coaches will want to gain a little confidence. I think that the flat start was the best possible outcome for such a meaningless game. As long as there are no serious injuries, I'd like to treat these first 4 games (sorry UW, you too) as warm-ups for the gauntlet that awaits us in the B1G.
