  1. I think we should give it to Roy Helu and he can use it for a hood ornament.
  2. It's good to go out on a high note on this series. Cheers!
  3. Helu gets to put the final nails in this coffin! GBR!
  4. That should have been flagged. He clearly hit helmet first. Though I don't believe it was "dirty", it was clearly helmet to helmet. If that's how they define the rule, then it should have been an easy call. But it should have been a fumble also... Ironically, if he'd have lowered his head, it wouldn't have been helmet to helmet. So which one is worse? If that tackler keeps his head up, the chance of helmet to helmet contact is greatly increased...
  5. This is the biggest game of our regular season. Texas was important for various reasons, but it won't likely affect the North Division too much. This one's for all the marbles. Hoping the boys come out intense but not overly hyped (*coughTexascough) and play to their potential. GO BIG RED!
  6. OU can be brilliant or horrible this season. They nearly lost to some pretty mediocre teams early on yet had flashes of brilliance. Which team did MU face? I don't think anybody quite knows yet. It will be a bit clearer in 24 hours.
  7. I didn't expect him to predict a Husker win but I'll take it.
  8. DVR & watch later. You won't be fully present with your daughter if you're trying to follow the game.
  9. Yeah, we haven't faced much on defense outside of Texas. It could be successfully argued that the Nebraska receivers were the best aspects of Texas' defense though. We'll see soon enough about Missouri. It should be a good test for both teams.
  10. This may just be all the "bulletin board" material the Huskers need to get over their weak starts @ home.
  11. Can Hagg play receiver? That's the best Husker catch all year... Too bad we gave it right back.
  12. Niles Paul as an NFL receiver, really? I'd be shocked if any NFL team would spend a dime on him.
  13. Lee and Martinez both played fairly well. The Texas D did everything right and took away our primary weapons. Had the receivers/Burkhead caught some balls, the zone read would likely have opened up for Martinez. We never hurt them deep and they stayed in the box to stop the running game. Pretty simple. Lee did a good job. He made seemingly good reads but the problem is that he doesn't do much even when he makes the correct read and the Texas D knew that. It's like a turtle escaping from the zoo... Not much to worry about and not very productive. I thought Martinez threw the ball well for the most part and that our receiver group was absolutely the limiting factor in the passing game. Overall very disappointing. I think these guys wanted it too much and played tight, leading to the dropped balls. Not much we can do about it now, NEXT!
  14. Win or lose, it's still a football game... It irks the hell out of me that we will leave the Big 12 with a really bad record against Texas but it can't be changed. Only losers dwell on the past. Learn from it and MOVE THE F**k ON! NEXT!
  15. Life goes on. This is another good example of why we shouldn't bet on the Huskers. Too emotionally involved to be objective. Texas vs. Nebraska never goes according to the stat book. And I'm glad I'm not Paul or Gillyen (sp?) they are feeling pretty bad right now and Paul likely cost himself millions of dollars in lifetime revenue. In comparison, my life didn't change and I'm pretty OK with that.
  16. Well, hell. Life goes on. If you haven't noticed, life hasn't really changed. (Except for the guy who's wife left). While we love the Huskers, try to keep it in perspective. This is why they play the games...
  17. Niles Paul will be the MVP... for Texas. Why don't we learn from his history?
  18. OK, so Zac Lee, I absolutely did not see that coming. It's not as if Martinez has been the limiting factor in the passing game... He's been putting the ball in the right place. Maybe Lee should have come in for Paul???
  19. Completely agree. We'll get their best game of the season to date, no question. If our offense can hold up to their speed/talent, then I think we can officially accept the label of national contender. And I'm not blaming Bo for the stumbles, just noting that they've been a consistent feature of October in the last couple of years. This year has a very different feel up to this point. Hoping for great things this October as it's the only one that matters right now.
  20. Win first, then worry about the politics. It's setting up nicely for us IF we don't stumble against UT, OSU, aTm and get a CCG against an undefeated OU. But this program under Bo has always stumbled at some point. So the tension remains... Should be a good rest of the season. Just F'in BEAT TEXAS, then they can be deemed irrelevant but not until we beat them.
