Not that it's a big deal, but does anyone know if ESPN Gameday was planning on setting up shop at our game this weekend?

at least he didn't say that our running backs were ten times better than Missouri's.........I thought it was funny when New Mexico St. said that about their receivers....

Would gladly give up our "nice" fan stigma for a "holy Sh*t they were crazy" comment every once in a while....and by that I mean loud....really loud......

Honestly, I think we could have any caoch in the country and we would still be in the same situation. I put none of this on Bo. Or the players for that matter. We are just seeing the results of a few bad years. Everyone has em....now...two years from now, we'll start that Home Winning Streak up again! GO BIG RED!

I will be watchin this game far away from Lincoln on ....TV, I'm curious to see how the stadium will look if the game goes long...maybe even to 1145 or midnight...I hope the fans (we all know which ones) will stay and keep the noise, intensity, and electricity going...despite the fact that it's past their bedtimes.

But if we had won on Saturday..half the people in these forums would nit pick...or say "...if this (insert event) hadn't happened it could have been a different story"...some people lose badly and win badly...I don't get some of the "fans" on this site.

Was thinking the same thing! Why be a fan if at the drop of a hat....you turn around and rip the team down....? Be supportive...when I got on the message board this morning I couldn't believe the amount of people that were like.....We won't win more than two games the rest of the season...we suck.....couldn't believe how bad (insert part of team) was..... Just drop it...and be thankful that we have a whole season to look forward to...Win or Lose...we ALL love this game and the Huskers! GO BIG RED!

Hey, remember this is pretty much the SAME team that went 5-7 last year....and when they lost they lost BAD! What do you expect? Give the team credit where it's due....The attitude has done a 180...the next few years is what people should be looking at...not a here and now turn around. At least we were competitive on a nationally tlelvised game unlike last years.....Kansas,USC,and ...Urgh....Mizzouri....

Good Point. I see this team not backing down...at least they can hold their heads high because THEY KNOW they didn't quit.

Don't forget....4 Field Goals, while Va Tech did get down in the Red Zone a bit ( too much IMO ), The D did hold them to field goals quite a bit. Proud of em for that...... Game could have been a massacre if not for the D Steppin Up.

It only took me about thirty seconds of watching, Tennessee and Miami playing these last few weeks to realize home amazing the Husker faithful REALLY are. It goes without saying that last year Nebraska was less thean fantastic....but the stands were still full......every seat... Tennessee....they said (the annoucers) said that it seemed almost 10 to 15 thousand empty seats... and Miami....wow! Today, that stadium looked about half empty....(or full) depending on your perspective... The point is, these are both storied programs that seem to have had some of their fans turn their backs quite quickly..... So to see the support that the Huskers have had for SOOOOO long is really comforting! GO BIG RED! Tear those damn HOKIES APART!!!!

Yes, i know that comparing Va Tech to San Jose St is stupid...but the situation speaks for itself. 14-12 going into the fourth....and pulling out a 35-12 "W".......Nebraska has not done a 180, they have a ways to go...but the heart and soul of the team is back! The team is going to give 110%........like the sker teams of yesteryear! aGAIN, IT WAS sAN jOSE sT...NOT usc OR Va Tech, but everyone out there has to believe that there is that little thing called the "WHO WANTS IT MORE" factor...Nebraska has it, don't count them out of any game!

His main point is that Nebraska is a small population state, and there are not the number of D-1 talent here that there is in California, Texas, or Alabama. I understand that, but it his article goes much deeper and it's obvious he enjoys writing like this with the Huskers....Look at the final line of his article........"It will take a lot more than one victory to reestablish the kind of relevance Nebraska once held." No Sh*%t..............Anyone knows that a team that goes 5-7 doesn't become a powerhouse or even regains its national identity from a win over a non ranked opponent at home.....This guy is just one of hundreds that got sick of seeing win after win after win in the 90's and is enjoying every minute of Nebraska's down years now...... he makes some good points, but he goes farther than he needs to.....

New schemes come to mind when film is watched. Match ups between lines, secondaries and receivers......when we see a weakness, no problem exploiting it!

I usually have no problems with coaches.....Boddy Bowden, really respect the guy, hate his team. Beamer...good guy. Va Tech, Not so much......these coaches have a job to look completely professional and they do a good job at it. But their teams on the other hand.....

papuchis (spelling) said that at the beginning of the year. That they will be going for a smaller type player that other schools will pass over...bring em in and build em up...fast, tough, and talented. they have been talkin bout it since they started recruiting.

Anyone know when the coverage map will be avaiable? Since Both Games are mostly midwest to east coast contests.....I wonder what game the west coast will get.' Crossing my fingers that I can get it in Vegas.......

What? why is everyone making this game such a big deal....these Va Tech guys are a mediocre team. Look at their stats. the Huskers don't look amazing on paper...but our defense is playing like wild men. We've seen a fast and mobile quarterback in San Jose State's Reed, and I think that the offense will be rolling with Lucky having a great game. The real test will be Missouri. Done.

Why is everyone so insistant on making VA TECH'S QB so amazing? He's good, but San Jose St's Quarterback was pretty damn good. too! yes, Va Tech will have a better line to allow Taylor to get more done, but it's not like the Defense hasn't seen this type of speed yet...... Really. Va Tech isn't all that great. Nebraska isn't the best either...but I see Va tech as only a notch above the talent we've already seen. I mean come on! the REAL first test for Nebraska will be Missouri...not VA TECH.

Can't wait for this game! I remember back in 04 when the Huskers tore misery apart...same in 06! Different teams back then, but proof that on any given day, the team that wants it the most can come up with a "W!" I think a big win vs. Va Tech will give the SKERS the fuel and confidence they need to stand up to this Mizzou team. GO BIG RED!
