  1. In years past the team ocasionally folded when faced with adversity. This team plays through it.......big change.
  2. This board, more and more, is taking on the personality of HOL. That personality is THE reason I left HOL years ago to come here. We win a game comfortably with our 1s and people piss and moan.
  3. Cordell Stewart. Hardly a statue but was nonetheless terrorized by the 93 and 94 defenses. Don't get me wrong, I mostly agree with your point, but those Ds could also hurt mobile QBs.
  4. Lots of lol'ing I see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZQQdlPoz5g
  5. No. The position he's in-the two point-qualifies as set. He was gonna get a penalty if he moved a foot to regain balance. While it's funny and ridiculous and par for the course for the offense's performance, I understand why he did what he did. He was trying to hold on till the ball was snapped. This is exactly what he was trying to do. It was rather funny to see but he was trying to hold on to his stance Even famous Husker-lover Herby said he was trying to hold on as long as he could hoping they'd snap it. Would people feel a lot better if he just gave up and stood up? Just an easy target because of everything else that went on. Am I the only one who feels for this young man? He's now the object of national ridicule. Enough. Hell, I'd feel this way if he played for I_WA.
  6. Ah, booze and an attitude......carry on son, you're making the point better than I can. I don't drink spooky. You're the one drunk believing recruits care about fans on the internet. Careful Ira, I was tossing you a lifeline. And if you think recruits don't check out these boards you're having a disassociative moment. Tossing me a lifeline...I'm not really sure what to make of you or your posts yet as you have a bigger attitude than I do and you're getting bent out of shape over a message board but act as though I'm the one over reacting. And if you're going to throw around fancy words at least look them up first so you don't spell them wrong. Defeats the purpose of looking smart on the internet... If you call it an attitude on my part defending a young man like TA who was being called names by internet tough guys, guilty as charged. Oh, and I can keep the words down to two syllables if it'll help ya. (You misspelled pfffft.)
  7. Ah yes...I keep forgetting about all those 5 star recruits we've lost because of the snarky and negative comments on Huskerboard. Greatest fans in the world...pffffttt.... 8. +1 That family has done more damage to Husker football than Callahan and Pedersen combined. Oh. My. God.

  10. This game is going to impress any recruits and commits.......unless they read some of the comments on this board.
  11. Some of the comments I'm seeing in here straight up disgust me. Armstrong is a moron? Armstrong is not a good quarterback? Where were you when things were going well? Oh yeah, "TA has the IT factor". Same mentality that resulted in threats to Cosgrove and his family. The game is just not that important and alcohol can't warrant some these remarks. I'm not disgusted by the team but some of you.....different story.
  12. Nuttin to do with Ameer and nuttin to do with September. So why? Makes me feel good inside. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYc0fAN2C_4
  13. Head over to a rerun of COPS to see Miami do their version of the tunnel walk. Most folks call it the Perp Walk.
  14. Michael Dudikoff has impressed, but Jeff Speakman is the truth.
  15. Gotta second the props to Nate Gerry. Kid seems to have a nose for the ball, hits hard but doesn't go for the highlight reel hit. Tackles well in space and does it all like a junior.
  16. If I am any opposing team with a QB that even remotely has an arm (yes, that McNeese dude had one UGLY throwing motion), I am finding a formation that forces our D to put Banderas 1 on 1 in coverage with the RB in the flat. The RB wins that 10/10 times for at least 5-6 yards minimum. True, i do think this scheme makes it rough on LB's. Look at Compton, folks blabbed-on how slow he is and dude is playing on Sundays. Most LB's aren't sideline to sideline guys that can cover a rb across the middle. I still don't get why Zaire isn't an every-down LB. As I said earlier I'd like to see Roach get in there, on running-downs anyway. And while we're at it, why in God's name is McMullen covering receivers?
  17. If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, wouldn't it be a Merry Christmas? -- Don Meredith. Also: that was a classic leg whip by Cotton. Not at all a bogus call. Disagree on the call but whatever. Silly me, and here I thought one of the purposes of the board was to offer up speculation.
  18. DISCLAIMER It is indisputable that the team was not mentally prepared for McNeese State, and Ameer made that clear in his post game comments. This ultimately is on Bo for not recognizing it, because his public comments prior to the game sure made it sound like the team was dialed in. That lack of focus WILL bite the team in the butt against a better foe. PLEASE Don't use this as a vehicle to ad nauseum restate your dislike for Bo, the staff or the direction you think the team is going. At this point no one is going to offer up a pithy insight that hasn't already been flogged to death. CONSIDER Three plays. THREE_PLAYS. Cotton's false start. Negates an almost sure TD. 7 point swing. Cotton's penalty for the leg whip. I thought that was a bogus call. I looked at the play several times and Cotton was twisting in the air as he was falling. At best it was 50/50 but the refs chose to call it so there it is. This killed NU's momentum on that drive. Tommy's dumb-azz INT that turned into a pick six. 7 point swing. BONUS PLAY. Cotton being an illegal blocker downfield when Westy makes that spectacular catch falling backwards. ESPN top 10 catch if it stands. Momentum killer. Between Bullet 2 and Bullet 4, call it another 7 point swing. That's 21 points boys and girls. And any one of those could have broken McNeese's will to play, potentially obviating their sticking around in the fourth quarter. And NOT ONE of those plays were the fault of scheme. All execution. (At this point some of you, and you know who you are, are ready to point out that Bo and the staff are responsible for execution too. Please, just don't. It's not that it's untrue; rather it's been laid out so many times that, well, you are really making yourself look stupid by pointing something virtually everyone else knows.) 14 point swing arguably in the bag and I would contend that 21 points were likely. What does that make the score? That's all I wanted to point out. The game was closer than it should have been and I am sick and tired of last minute miracles, just like you are. Nor am I positing that there are not systemic issues that have to be fixed. However, looking at that game if anyone wants to argue that a 21 point swing does not make the outcome of the game look entirely different, well.....
  19. I am shocked, shocked I sez, at the tenor of this thread.
  20. huh? (i can see this thing headed for the tangent thread) Monty Python and the Holy Grail reference. Kids these days!
