  1. If we run the ball as much as is being talked about, could be great weekend for RB recruit visit. I've looked at film of Bernard and Green, both highly regarded rbs. If we wind up losing one (assuming either want to commit) who would be the greater loss? Whose upside is better? Green (2011) has a higher rating by Rivals, but is that enough to really separated the two?
  2. The guy I'm quoting (from the free board) is Husker Bone. Sorry. Had to kill it. OKC Mods, if it is against the rules to post that link, feel free to delete it.
  3. In a round-about way, good news...... Curtis' dad says good news is on the way for Nebraska...... (per Rivals open board).
  4. There was a headline on Rivals that said "How NU Landed Carter". Two minutes later it was gone. Hope this one has legs. To ensure good news, here's the lucky dancing banana cob.... EDIT: That headline is currently on the RIVALS ticker.......
  5. Irony abounds in this thread. TO sends a complimentary message to the Mizzou AD about the way the fans got along, and it turns into a hair pulling contest on this board. Come on everyone, let it rest.
  6. If you run, you and your lunch pail can still catch your short bus.
  7. Your short bus is leaving....
  8. "...- Watson said the Huskers will not implement a run package for freshman quarterback Cody Green to take some of the rushing load away from Helu in Burkhead's absence. Watson said Green needs to focus on his job as the backup QB. “No, no, no, no,” Watson said. “We need him. He's got to be there to help us win games by passing the ball. That's important.” Green has rushed six times for 79 yards and two touchdowns this year. But according to Watson, Green's running ability is “average, in terms of his overall speed.” “He's kind of a nifty runner, kind of like Joe (Ganz),” Watson said. Wha???????
  9. As someone else said above, Rex was important to the team in pass pro as he was running the ball....and he was a stud running the ball. Imagine, this is a true freshman! The team needs secure hands as much as it needs a chain mover. Rex and Roy brought both.
  10. This may be premature. Not sure Rex is hurt that bad. Next day or two will tell.
  11. He is still committed. Mizzou has stepped it up now that they can call. He talks to them about once a week and talks to Watson about once a week. Quote: "Nothing heavily, you know in terms of really very interested," Gabbert explained. "I'm still looking at them a little bit. They've been stepping things up the last couple of weeks. With them being able to make calls now, I get calls from them once a week. I think we are OK on this one. thx skers.... As I read Rivals and Scout and even here, one of the most discouraging things I read are comments of, "Well if he leaves, no prob. I didn't think he was that great anyway." Look, the coaches thought enough of him to offer him a schollie. That makes him valuable and suited (potentially) for the job. To act like a jilted date is just stupid. Personally, after reading as much as I can I think he stays NU. But you better believe that Wats is making sure, right now, that NU knows where the young man stands. If he is waffling, Sean Robbie is getting a schollie offer and Ty's is being pulled. The two are different physical specimens and bring different things to the table, but TG was good enuf for most folks before this latest drama erupted. He's good enuf now. i haven't seen that but i don't go to rivals because i hate the posters there, but please i know it's hard but don't use internet lingo, you are not 31337 I'll make a deal with u. I'll stop using i-net lingo if you use your caps lock key.
  12. Any chance the Big XII or the NCAA review the incident? Or is that just helmet to helmet hits? They should. Whether or not they will is a whole different deal. Given the leaders of the Big 12, I would say nothing will come of it. I hope it's not reviewed. They'll conclude that Helu, in a fit of poor sportsmanship, shoved his back and neck into Weatherspoon's fist. I always suspected Roy was like that.
  13. This. If it was a pic of Daniel(s) (that lying SOB) then I would have no prob, but not this young man.
  14. See, that's just pathetic-I swear to God that these scumbags are worse than CU fans-a lot worse actually. Sure, some are. But the guys posting on this thread have been fine.
  15. I didn't "swear by it with confidence", I just stated that is what my belief was....(Mizzou 4.5 favs). I love how you guys exagerate. Anyway....www.scoresandodds.com is showing Nebraska a 2.5 favorite. I'm actually thrilled. I only have to be concerned with Mizzou winning before I win me some moolah. P.S. Game time is 4 days away. Hopefully for you your betting has improved since you picked VaTech to cover. Hopefully for us the outcome is better than the VaTech ending. I'm up for the year. This week is a NOOOOOO BRAINER!! You qualify. Watch the pretty dancing banana cob......

  17. Thanks. Wow. The expectations from 04 to the reality of 07. Wow.
  18. Ross Pilkington? And does anyone remember the actual reason he left?
  19. Has it been positively confirmed that that RT suffered an ACL injury?
  20. Knapp is a good guy and I respect the hell out of anyone who mans up. Doesn't happen near enough. In that vein, I really, REALLY enjoy this board. You have none of the drama on HI or the meanness that shows up on Huskerpedia. Props to the mods and rest of you.
  21. Just a guess...but I bet you own 1 of everything from the Super market check out lines. You seem to think snap decisions are OK. Actually, I think he was just expressing concern or curiosity in a civil manner. No call to be snarky.
  22. What does reality have to do with a ranking system? Everything, if you want it to be credible. If you don't care about credibility then by all means put the Huskers at #1 and leave them there forever. Knapp, you know I have your back, but let's play devil's advocate. If reality had anything to do with polls, why is ND perennially ranked higher than they deserve? Don't get me wrong, I fully agree NU needs to put the question out of doubt before it deserves to be ranked higher. But using the same logic, ND needs to sit in the sewer until it proves it can run with the big dogs.
  23. Yea, lol. You know i never knew this byt Bo Pelini interviewed for head coach when Solich was fired? i thought he already took the offer from OU as defensive coordinator before the interviews started. Oh well, you learn something new everyday, and see more of the fault of Pederson. i think it was more of a mercy interview, Pederson knew he was not going to even attempt to keep the previous staff... After his interview with Peterson, Bo said that he did not think he would get the job. And since he felt strongly that Peterson shafted Frank, I'm think he wasn't entirely sure he wanted the job if Peddy was the boss.
  24. I don't know you guys....I'm trying to get a read on my new Husker friends. On one hand, you guys say Mizzou will be a pushover and you'll rack up 60 points, no matter who you wheel out there as QB. On the other hand you say Zac needs to heal and get ready for the Big XII opener (Tigers). It's homerism, Tim, plain and simple. But remember this is a Husker board so that's expected. Having said that I like our chances based on the performances of NU and MU this year. NU lost to VT in the last seconds of the game, and even their fans said after the game that NU was the better team. As I type this, VT is curb-stomping the latest ESPN sweetheart, Thug U. MU got pushed around by an 0-2 Nevada team last night. Having said all that, the game is played on the field, not by us keyboard wizards, so we'll see.
