  1. Absolutely exquisite timing. With all the angst over recruiting right now, this was well played. (Not by me, tho)
  2. No challenging ya, TigerFan, but why was his offer pulled? My understanding is that the staff got the hint that he wasn't going MU. Not saying that is true, but I have been hearing that for a bit. MU staff had become tired of his constant unofficial visit to other schools over the summer. According to those who know Hill he got caught up in the recruiting game and was enjoying all off the attention that goes with it. At the MU camp in St. Louis Hill was in attendance talking with other recruites about MU, but then when it came time for Hill to tell other coaches he was not interested in their school he couldn't. The MU coaches revoked the offer after telling him to decide if he was committed or not. Seems like a pretty lame reason if you ask me. So what he's taking unofficials, many kids continue to take visits after they verbal. What, where they afraid he would de-commit so to save face they drop him first? Something tells me Hill was long gone regardless. Who does Mizzou think they are anyway, USC? Their sh!t or get off the pot stance seems a little bold for a team that still has zero BCS bowls games, no Big 12 titles, and who haven't even been able to win their division outright. I'm sure Tiger fans would love to argue, but losing a speedy instate recruit like Hill is a big deal. And to pretend otherwise is as dumb as Nebraska fans pretending that losing Keston Terry won't hurt our 2010 class, or that losing Trevor Robinson to ND in 2008 was no big deal. Just because you say it, doesn't make it true! That's why he was offered in the first place. But his continued visits prompted the staff to tell him that they could not hold his offer and reject some other kid who wanted to committ. The class is filling fast with 13 committs already. Hill needed to make a REAL commitment or risk not having an offer remaining. Pretty simple. The attitude of the MU staff in this context is identical to what we hear Bo's is. Don't commit unless you mean it. Frankly, I like it, even if it costs us some higher ranked kids in this class.

  4. Awright, what gives? I did not send that message twice. Cy, did you have something to do with this?
  5. Say, I really feel bad for Javario. And now, a dancing banana straight from the HIPAA convention......

  8. I am equally as disappointed about this decommit, but I think it's time to move on and stop dwelling on this. What is the need to call out the coaching staff on this? The bottom line is Terry felt more comfortable in Lawrence, he is a legacy, and it is close to home. I have a hard time blaming him or blaming the coaching staff. I think we just need to focus on continuing to improve, and winning football games..especially on the national stage. Keep in mind that recruiting is a marathon, not a sprint.
  9. Who is the Callahan of which you speak? Go into the cube next to you. The guy is a KSU fan. Put your NU stuff up in there. He has no team. No harm, no foul. If he bellyaches about it, give him a dancing banana cob. (Inspector Clouseau voice) Problem sol-ved.
  10. Actually pretty funny in places...... Helu came up with a nickname for himself, then "lost" it. He forgot it. Walked around Memorial stadium in compression shorts because he misplaced his pants. (Dang, if I had a nickel every time that happened to me when I was younger.....) Showed up at a speaking engagement wearing Marlon Lucky's dress shoes because he didn't realize the event was going to be formal. And now, a dancing banana cob..... http://www.theindependent.com/articles/200...96953623094.txt
  11. Glad your nephew had a good time. Hope to see him in a Nebraska jersey sometime next year Couldn't have said it better. I think Bobby will be blown away by the gameday atmosphere in Lincoln. Go Big Red This young man has a VERY impressive offer list. If he's not the type to be suckered in by glitz and screwy uniforms he will fit NU like a glove.
  12. Sounds good. I like his frame....lots of room for growth under a good S/C program. Rivals has him three tenths away from a four star......It'll be fun watching his senior year of fb.
  13. Your implication that I've changed my mind on this subject is completely false. My stance was, and always has been...I only care about the kids who sign their LOI and agree to come to Nebraska. It makes me wonder what the hell is mentally wrong with some of my fellow Nebraska fans when they get angry because some 17 year old kid changed his mind at the 11th hour, to wit Josh Freeman and Blaine Gabbert. Bottom line: Pinning your hopes on the whims of a 17 year old kid is just flat out dumb. *Ahem* In my younger days I pinned an outrageous amount of hope on the prospect of a 17 year old NOT changing her mind. You're right. That was wrong. I apologize. Lord, that was awful. And for everyone's reading pleasure I give you a dancing banana cob.
  14. True dat, Fro. As coaches go, Zook is a hellava recruiter.
  15. Not sure if you know Matt, but if so tell him he is still appreciated and we need him back ASAP.
  16. Premium rivals. NO LINK . Sorry Damn. Don't worry. Watson was so positive about so many people, it's almost kind of a wash. He definitely likes coaching Lee, though, in part because it's a challenge. Why a challenge?
  17. Bad news for you. The ditch weed in Neb. is supposed to be sub-par this year.
  18. i believe the home team is given 2.5, so it's a wash. Which as of now, i have to agree. +1 I've always understood that home field is worth 7 points. And now a dancing banana cob:
  19. I believe you that 4.25 was reported, but I will not believe unless it is confirmed independently. The very fastest humans in the WORLD run in the 4.3s. A 4.25 is simply........unbelieveable.
  20. Several things stand out from that video (realizing it's a highlight video): --YAC. He always seemed to move forward after first contact. Nice trait. --Poor O-line. YAC, too many times, was in his own backfield. --Good eye for the hole. --Makes ppl miss. Has a nice change of direction. --Arm tackles do not bring him down. --Always tries to go north-south. Having said all that, and taking nothing away from him, Rex Burkhead is better at all the above. Not sure if AD will be offered a schollie, but if he were he would be a nice compliment to Aaron Green if he becomes N. Thanks for the clip. Appropos to nothing, but I really appreciate the relative lack of bickering on this board. I am about ready to stop going to Rivals. What a drama fest HI is becoming. I really hope those mods put a stop to some of the caustic posts and personalities on that board.

  22. Where is this coming from? 1. This is a message board where fans come and voice thier opinion. If you don't like the particular tone of a thread then don't post in it and/or ignore what's said. 2. Since CG was a Nebraska football player that automatically makes everything he does fodder for public discussion 3. What relevance do your comments have with regards to this thread? Nobody here in this thread has mentioned what happened previously with CG. In fact everybody here has congratulated Cody and wants to see him succeed and wishes him nothing but the best. In summary, I suggest it is you who needs to "back off." Will never back off. read my previous post. It was in reference to last year's accusations of this young man. I should have made it more clear. But fans who don't know squat spewing crap about a situation they know little about, is stupid. Agree with Jen. The thread was positive until mwj98 attempted to chide everyone. Not sure how we managed to get along without his timely posit.
  23. Are you from Nebraska? Football is worshipped in Nebraska. It's basically all we got. I haven't been to any Class A schools facilities, but from what I'm told they're pretty nice. There is huge competition to be high school football coaches in Nebraska. If you don't believe there's any recruiting going on in Nebraska, then you need to talk to some high school football coaches here in Nebraska. Creighton Prep. recruits hard. There are some porocial schools that also recruit very hard here in Nebraska. Living close to Grant, NE has shown me a few ways of being over the top like no boy starts school until he's nearly 7 depending on when his birthday is. When they had businesses there, they'd get "jobs" for parents if their kids would go to school there. I'd say we're just as over the top here as Texas is. We don't have the numbers of great players of Texas obviously, but I don't believe for a minute that high school kids here aren't exposed to the same things as down in Texas. I grew up in Nebraska, and I lived in Texas for a handful of years as well. Nebraska high school football is nothing like high school football in Texas. You've never seen high school football worshiped until you've seen it worshiped ala Texas style. The state championships aren't over until late December (maybe even early January). It is truly crazy. Nebraskans love football, and are every bit as crazy about college football as any fan in Texas, but high school football in Texas is at a whole other level. Yep. Lived in OK for a few years in the 70s and I recall that in TX, boys in 2nd grade who were promising football players were held back a year so that could grow. Now I love my bugeaters, but that there is just plain nuts.
