      No. Nobody understands it or can explain it. It's not even a real thing.

      The first number is how many outs there are, the second number is the score. So 5/120 (read as "5 for 120") means 5 men are out and 120 runs have scored. To make it more confusing, some countries (England I think) reads it backwards, i.e. 120/5, or 120 for 5. An over is just six balls thrown. Think of it as six pitches. World Cup cricket is a one day match, which is 50 overs for each side, or 300 balls. You hit until you make an out. If you get 10 guys out before you get to 300 balls...

      Then you switch sides, like baseball. I never cared much for the sport when I lived in Melbourne, but when it was on it was literally the only thing anybody talked about. I learned some basic rules so I didn't look clueless.
