  1. I didnt read through every single post above mine, but IMO Bo needs to be accountable for the entire team as he is the head coach. The responsibility of being the hc means that you need to oversee the entire operation of the team. For those people who said that if Bo puts more focus on the offense the defense will suffer, I have a question for you and that is if you want Bo to give 90-100% of his attention to the defense then he should have been hired as the d-cord and not the hc. He is the hc he needs to figure out the offense as well. Take the play calling ability away from SW and as the hc call some of the offensive plays. Bo needs to get rid of SW and Gilmore and Cotton and start fresh on the offensive side of the ball. If he does not do that and we lose 4 games again next year and the offense struggles then we can really have the conversation of Bo hitting the road.
  2. Please NOTE: since the parameters do not include: NUMBER OF GAMES WON RECENTLY! or WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY? I didn't factor it in. just another opinion: Taking into account my opinion of their coaching capability, coaching talent, teaching methods, strategy, content of character, attitude toward players, attitude players have for their coach. 1. Bill Snyder 2. Mack Brown 3. Bob Stoops 4. Mark Mangino 5. Gary Pinkel 6. Mike Leach 7. BO PELINI 8. Mike Gundy 9. Art Briles 10.Dan Hawkins 11.Mike Sherman 12.Paul Rhodes This is one of the better rankings that i see (not the one with bo at number 1 but the other one) My would look like this: 1. Bob Stoops 2.Mack Brown 3.Mike Gundy 4. Mark Mangino 5.Mike Leach 6.Art Briles 7.Bill Snyder (If it would have been anyone else at kstate this spot would have been Bo's) 8.Bo Pelini 9.Gary Pinkel 10. Paul Rhodes 11. Mike Sherman 12.Dan Hawkins
  3. I think Bo was the right hire. You saying that Turner had limited experience as a hc at Buffalo, Bo had no hc experience, your point is not valid. I do not believe that race played a factor but we can not really sit here and comment on this since we do not know the thinking behind it because Nebraska overpaid for the consulting firm in Atlanta to do the search for them when other firms are just as qualified but the service that Nebraska choose did do about a $30,000 background check on all of the coaches that the group was interested in, since for some reason the athletic department could not do that on their own. Also when Tom decided he would be the interm AD at the time Damon Evans who was working in the Georgia athletic department may have had a bit of interest to return to his home state and take over as AD but for some reason Nebraska did not pursue Evans who is now the AD at Georgia who is also black. Way off topic but not really

  5. beer does not=bud, miller, coors etc this is kind of a sh** beer but on a hot gameday how bout a Corona? My other gameday favorites are: Goose Island's 312 Urban Wheat Goose Island's Honkers Ale Tecate
  6. according to huskerchatter.com the defense had 33 check downs or something so maybe that had something to do with it. (maybe #33 only knew 32 of the checks
  7. the guy at huskerchatter.com said maybe O'hanlon forgot that the coaches said dont let anyone get behind you. or maybe the coaches did not tell him that which they shouldve. Either way the safetys job is to let nobody get behind you and he did.
  8. Oh my god. Cody Green is nowhere near ready to be the starter. You have to know more than 15 plays first off. Even if it is a 9-4 season, it will be less than that number of wins with Green. He is simply not a better QB than Lee its that simple. Lee did have a bad game. If Holt hangs on to that ball or the pass to McNeil that I believe was a TD that got called back on that dreadful drive, if we didnt get a holding penalty people would not jump to this conclusion. If we would have won this thought would not jump into peoples minds. The dude at huskerchatter.com did a pretty nice job of predicting stuff this weekend though.
  9. Very cool stuff. I plan on moving to the east coast in a couple of years and will defiently look into something like this. I know this guy who just started a website with different stuff about the Huskers pass it along to people who are removed from the local media here in Lincoln it is neat stuff. The site is huskerchatter.com
  10. HAHAHAHAHA oops I meant 37-30 DUH I haven't had a laugh like I did after reading your original post in a long time. Lots of numbers rolling around in my head and the brain didnt keep up with the fingers typing

  12. What you all thinking close or not close in either direction? Im thinking NU by 7 like 35-30 Huskers. This dude had an interesting take on http://huskerchatter.com/Husker_Chatter.html
  13. Found a cool site that has the Huskers winning tomorrow as well in its prediction. Thought id share it with yall. http://huskerchatter.com/Husker_Chatter.html
  14. Oh yeah and the block punt was scary because you know if hes still the punter for the VA Tech game they will be coming after the punts so watch out.
  15. Not the greatest game for Alex, this needs to improve this week before VA Tech because you cant punt the ball on average only 32 yards because you will get killed in the field position battle against good teams. Once you get into conference play most teams with a few exceptions (ie iowa st) can score the football if given good field position.
  16. Absolutely agreed. We will have to see how they do against an offense that doesn't max protect and send only two or three receivers. NU benefited from being able to sit in coverage while only rushing the four down linemen. Playing against a miserable offensive line made it easy to sit back and break on balls. Agree with both of you. The real test will come against a team who has the ability to pass and run and doesnt just send out 2 WR's per play. That said they did play very well but not much of a test this past week.
  17. The polls for the first 3 maybe 4 weeks of the season are pointless. They should not have polls until week 4 or week 5 anyway
  18. Brandon Jackson. Brandon Jackson was a different type of a back than Helu is anyway. Jackson was more of a prototypical NFL back than Helu is. According to who, the Packers or the Eagles. Westbrook is vastly different than Brandon Jackson. Are you saying helu is westbrook? Helu is not very big which is what I was saying compared with jackson who was more physically ready for the nfl than helu is. Helu would get crushed in the nfl by some of the big linebackers and if you can't take the punishment in the league it makes it tough. Helu needs to bulk up a little if he wants to improve his draft stock but that's an offseason deal which after you do something like that teams and scouts will want to see you in game action at your new weight to see what your skill levels are at that point. So he will be back for his sr year

  20. After like 2 times wouldnt you know that its probably a positive test, maybe even 3 times. Why 5? Its not like you got some girl pregnant that you dont want to be with so you do a prgnancy test 5 times its a marijuana drug test! After like 2 maybe 3 tests the results dont lie.
  21. If Green and Washington are as close as the coaches say for the #2 and NU wanted to redshirt Green than Washington would be the #2 Read between the lines people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. I think that the number of 5 is also high that was my point. After one it should go to the unity council and be handled in house thats fine. After the second that was your second chance than you are gone if you fail the second drug test. Its not that difficult to figure out. 5 seems very arbitrary and unlikely because it is so high.
  23. If Green is the #2 qb than he should see action at some point. If he were the #3 qb than you would no he would redshirt for sure. Since he is the #2 qb he will play at some point this year. You have to get over the redshirt deal. It all comes down to what you can do on Saturday anyway not what you do in practice. If NU has a comfortable lead than put in the #2 qb and right now that is Green. He is the #2 qb for a reason. This game and the way things are now is you have to win now. Whoever is the #2 qb should expect to see action during the season. You risk stupid injuries if you leave Lee in wwhen the game is out of hand. Put in the backup which is why you have one. Even if the game is out of hand and your just leaving Lee in there to handoff the football you are still risking Lee for a stupid injury like a ankle injury or a big o linemen stepping on his feet or something of that nature. IF NU WANTED TO REDSHIRT GREEN HE WOULD NOT BE THE #2 QB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
