Will we be better next year? I don;t know with some of these key senior starters. (ganz, Murtha, Slauson, swift, peterson, lucky, potter. steinkuhler, glenn, millard to nmae a few)
Everybody stop inventing offenses and calling out coaches. You sound like kids inventing mythical beasts. "Dude it would beaweseoms if we coudl takes a tiger and dragon and give it a zebra head with horse dick1!!!1"
They'll run what they run, and it won't be a gimmick. They'll pass the ball, they'll run the ball. They'll be flexible. If watching Missouri over the last couple years should have taught us anything, it's that creating an offense that works only against a slow, inexperienced defense will not make you a NC contender. This spread crap is going to end soon. Some of the principles might carry over for a while, but nobody will be talking about spread offenses in a few years. You have to control the line of scrimmage, not use gimmicky formations to create one on one matchups against scrub defensive backs. How well you block doesn't have sh#t to do with being able to drive a VW Microbus between the guard and tackle. It's about being a mean sonofabitch. It's about playing the way you practice.
I agree with Captain Obvious. Defenses will figue out the spread with smaller and quicker players and then teams will go back to shoving the ball down people's throats.
I like "our" offense. I'm not exactly sure what it is bit there seems to be a little west coast, a little spread, now if we could mix some I in there it would be great. When Bo has his full scale of recruits here we will be multiple, it is just going to take 3-4 years. We will have answers for any of our opponents offensive or defensive schemes. GBR!!!!!
Suh needs to have his head adjusted. We need to get him right. As good as he is now, he could be a monster next year.
Murillo and suh are lucky that we do not have any depth at eather position.
I think they ran mostly a 4-2-5. I only saw 5 on the line in short yardage situations and that was usually a backer walked up . The biggest thing against the spread is to tackle well. Most tackles are one on one because you are so spaced out defensively. I wish we ran this offense.
We can't turn on them. The way they played today with so many injuries on def. Four defensive preseason starters out(turner, Dillard, Glenn and Thenarse). I will never turn on Bo, he has too much heart. I have a Bo Crush.
yeah, good point. I also think that Joe last year was always playing catch-up, so he doens't have much experience managing a game. We were giving up so many points and down by so many there was little to no value of our posessions.
