  1. Why do some people assume that since members of the media "never" played football they know nothing. Tim Griffin, along with everyother sportswriter, knows more about our program than we as everyday fans do. He is at every Big 12 press conference, most conference calls. He is IN the locker rooms talking to players and coaches one on one. Bo Pelini would know Griffin on the street, he would have no clue who I am. Most of the knowledge that most of us fans has about our program, is written by the media. However, it IS up to us to decide if we feel certain writers concentrate more on negatives than positives. Mark Clayton (ESPN NFL analyst) obviously doesn't look the part of an athlete. But I'm pretty sure he could make anyone of us look stupid in a football discussion. my .02
  2. This has been mentioned previously in the thread, but it is getting rather long. O'Hanlon made an outstanding play on the ball against CJ Spiller when Clemson was deep in our territory. That play decided the game, and he made it. That is how he saved the bowl game.
  3. Even Helu, and Henery? I agree they both had good games, but just for argument's sake... Henery shanked his second punt for only 20 yards. Did VT get the FG on that drive? Helu missed a few blocks in pass protection and missed a few running lanes. Thank you. I know I could blame something on Henery, I just didn't want to!! He beat Colorado!!!!!! Good fun.
  4. exactly what I figured! LITR seems to be full of Pompus Fans willing to comment on a whim.
  5. What is the age of the frequent posters on here? I am relatively new. I spend a whole lot more time reading posts than I do responding. Unfortunately, when I agree with posts I don't respond because "what's the point", however, when I disagree without question I may post. This will probably get me the label of "troll" or misinformed because I'm in the wrong forum with the wrong topic. I don't want to be labled as a negative member. (I witnessed the HuskerJen, and I do not want to be in that category) Myself, I am 29. I witnessed the glory days, and unfortunately more sad days. I'm just curious because I aslo frequent the LIFR on www.journalstar.com and they continue to say how this is a board full of illinformed youth. My question is: How old are you and where are you from? Answer one, or the other, or neither. I'm just curious that when I read a post; am I reading a person who is a current student with friends on the team, a former student that thinks NU should win MNC every year, or a High School student that doesn't remember wat the program was. Nothing against anyone in anyone of those categories, I would just like some context in your posts, that I'm very grateful for. Like I said; I'm 29 from Pierce NE (I don't want to make this a FaceBook Page) If you know me call me!
  6. Sorry for those who may not know. Nebraska H.S. finals are played at Memorial Stadium not on high school fields. Narrower fieldgoal uprights.
  7. Even Helu, and Henery? Henerey= not easy to find (got me) Helu = I'm sure he missed a block somewhere, also from the towering view of my couch, he could have cut in instead of out (I believe in the 2nd qtr) and picked up the first. Instead we punted. Small things, small point differential. This game reminds me of my High School Alumni. I graduated from Pierce, NE. Pierce lost to Boone Central in the finals in '01? (after my graduation) The loss happened after Pierce missed a game winning field goal by inches. The argument was if the game was played on a H.S. field, Pierce would have made the FG. My argument to my relatives and friends (which they did not like) was that if Pierce would have done a couple of things different, they wouldn't have had to count on a FG. Unfortunately, fans remember the last few plays the most. What we need to remember and realize is that there was 58 minutes leading up to that last 2. Bring on ULL!!!!
  8. Best "YouTube" ever. Hate Hitler, loved the clip! "At least we still have walk-ons" = LOL
  9. Love it!!!! It was a frustrating loss, not a horrible loss. That will be rectified in 2 1/2 weeks. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG REEEEEEEEEEEED!!!!
  10. +1! +2 (times "were is that damn infinity key")!!! 3-1 rolling into conference schedule. That is what most people expected; because the Huskers played better than they were supposed to, people are upset(if it would have been an obvious loss, people would write "learn from it, go get the North". Be upset about the game, I AM, but don't be upset with this team please. In a close game like VA Tech, If I watched film, I could find a reason to blame the loss on every person on the roster.
  11. The news is real. Bo Pelini acknowledged that Okafor left the team yesterday. This morning Jamrog acknowledged that "Pelini left the door open, and Okafor came back." This story wasn't fabricated. Although it did happen very quickly. Thank you. I was waiting to get bashed for not posting a link.

  13. If this happens, the Huskers WILL win. Gaurantee!!!! They have a great "chance" of winning as long as the bus makes it to the field.
  14. I think putting one of these would not look very professional on an ESPN article. Do you also think your parents hate you because they made you eat vegatables?
  15. First of all, the "Greatest Fans in College Football" thing is an opinion, and one that I think is a little conceited, actually. The word "classiest" does not appear on the entrance to Memorial Stadium, it is something that some fans call themselves. (As stated earlier) If you really are that classy, just let others say it about you, thank them, and be done with it. A classy person never actually calls himself classy. He just is. NU needs to get its students back into the atmosphere at football games. If there were more ways for them to get involved, or if they were closer to the actual game, things like this would take care of themselves. But that's a whole different ball of wax. Anyway, college students are college students. If you want to tell them to not do the hand gesture, tell them to their face. Going to the message board to complain about it won't accomplish anything. Actually it's a fact. Actually, its not. A fact is something that cannot be disputed, meaning it is absolutely true. Fact: NU fans are great fans. Opinion: NU fans are the greatest in college football. Just because its on the outside of our stadium does not make it fact. Lee Corso saying it on Gameday does not make it fact. Having 300+ consecutive sellouts does not make it fact. Florida fans think they are the greatest. Michigan fans think they are the greatest. Not trying to sound conceited, but I think it is widely known that Memorial stadium has uniquely fantastic fans. I'm not saying that I think we're "better" than other fans, but it's definitely not a common thing to have such high respect from MOST everyone around the country. Everyone that is interviewed talks about how great our fans are... I have never heard a player or coach from another team (nor have I heard fans visiting) say that they didn't think our fans were the best they've seen. YES.... it's not a FACT, because it could be disputed... but it is definitely a common opinion, NOT just one held by Nebraska fans and natives. Also.... 300 consecutive sellouts is crazy... and our sellout record will NEVER be touched. I think that definitely says something about our fan base, that through thick and thin we are there for our team, which, yes... does make us great. Watching other "great" fanbases, at the first sign of bad luck, they are booing their coach and players. I may sound conceited, but that's fine with me, because Through the gates of Memorial Stadium pass the TRULY GREATEST fans in college football. Sorry, this is also an opinion. Not that I disagree with it.
  16. Per Rivals: Zac Lee class of 07: 4 STAR w/ 4.6 fyd Cody Green class of 09: 4 STAR w/ 4.6 fyd What makes Cody Green so much faster? Although he is fast!
  17. So true. Just like Anterio Sloan committing to the Huskers early!!! He committed early, before he even saw campus. The season is 5 days away, signing day is 120+ days away. As far as my math goes, the season ends before signing day. Before coaching changes. Before graduation. Before season ending injuries. Before official visits. Before unofficial visits. Before the 17th birthday of some recruits!!! sh#t happens, it will happen. These coaches want the best out of a small class and they will get it
  18. Seriously the contact thing is what is the bigger issue with me. Losing Sloan wasn't a shock, never had been here, almost a fall back plan for him until he got the SEC offers that he always wanted. BUT back to this contact issue, it had become a reoccurring theme, except for the name Coach Pap. The sky ain't falling because Saturday starts our prime selling point. Give it some weeks and see where we are at after using our biggest selling point. EXACTLY!!!! Screw K-Mart and the "Blue Light Special" Time for that RED LIGHT to shine bright!!! (sorry, not Amsterdam) Everybody's buying!!!! GBR
  19. Don't know if this is true or not, but I'd believe it. These coaches know where they want to go and how they want to get there (look at dismissing Castille). Hypothetical: Maybe after the "Honeymoon" they decided they have room for only a couple DB's and he wasn't one of them. "Sure, we'll honor your scholly if you really want to come here but honestly, we're going to stop kissing "you're" ass and talk to the more solid guy that will qualify. Again.....HYPOTHETICAL.....which recruiting is until the recruits sign an LOI. Did we lose that which wasn't our's?....Philosophy 101 And I promise, I'm not "HuskerJen" Although, she might agree. Love ya Jen

  21. Sorry Billdozer, I accidentally edited your post with my RED and WHITE comment. I don't post very often and didn't realize that was possible.
  22. As far as I know, Budweiser cans have always been RED and WHITE!!!! Take the fun out that, Tom. I dare ya! L.A.M.E. I need to get ahold of some of those cans. Indeed. T.O. needs to lighten up. How and when does one get to tight?
  23. I don't see OU in his top 5?! How is this for trying again? Try reading my post again!!! I was saying that if a recruit is looking for academics and NU is recruiting against the other people in his top 5, they won't get the recruit unless he is a local kid. I gauran-god-damn-tee you that Oklahoma is not in a top 5 like that. I was saying that NU should be proud to have a student look at them in that light. Now, when you have a recruit that could give a sh#t about grades and just wants to win football games, and NU makes it in to the top 5 including OK, Tex, Florida, USC. NU should be proud of that too!!!! Wise up!!!!!
  24. He plays QB/CB in High School. NU is not recruiting him as a QB or CB. They want him as a S/WR. People were so upset whin Leverson left; this is "Leverson's" replacement. I do believe Leverson was a scholarship, and I do believe this kid has the same ability. By no means will he be the next Eric Crouch (Who will? It's a different era) This kid is a solid athete, and the coaches want to find a spot to put him in!
