  1. Plausible, but still not likely at all. You keep saying we can "choose to believe you or not", but considering you have nothing to back up your story other than severe speculation and what you think people are hinting towards, it is very hard to believe you. The simple fact of the matter is that I could say I think he got suspended because he flew to the moon during practice to grab a couple of moon rocks, and the lack of information (that you seem to think supports your claim) supports mine just as much. *Edit* Considering it was confirmed that it had nothing to do with tickets, I redact my last point. But still, why would something as serious as stat rape be covered up by Nebraska and the Redskins..?
  2. I'm just glad we have a couple players on this list, and they are at key positions which says a lot.
  3. Everybody should read all the articles closely, especially the one on LJS. It says that Nebraska school officials said Glenn did nothing to violate NCAA rules. So now, everybody thinks it must be something serious huh? If it was something serious, the Redskins would have found out about it. You never lie to an NFL team, and the Redskins organization said that they took a long hard look at what happened to get to the total bottom of it. Do you really think the Redskins and Cornhuskers are working together to keep this hush hush? Not possible.
  4. ROFL Did you guys see the homer from Oklahoma, named danelazer, saying Oklahoma would have at LEAST 4 first round draft picks? They didn't even get one.
  5. Have you ever liked somebody who kicked your butt? I know that I still dislike a kid from my childhood. I am sure a cumlative 100pt beating contributed greatly to Jens dislike. DA*N that Tommy Fraiser!! Well, tbh, Daniel has better accuracy and skills compared to Ganz. However, Daniel has been running a style of offense that is not favored in the NFL as far as quarterbacks go. Taking a spread offense quarterback into the pros is almost as useful as taking an option quarterback to play quarterback in the pro's, it just doesn't work (unless you are Stafford with his "great" arm strength and other "intangibles" ) The spread offense is set up and run differently compared to the pro passing game, and a lot of snaps in the NFL come from under center, something that Ganz has some experience with and Daniel has even less of. IMHO, they are both at the same level of play as far as competing for a pro quarterback spot. They both have their weaknesses and strengths, but neither is fit to be a pro style quarterback right now.
  6. LOL. Extremely hard to sack? Pretty sure we pulled him down at LEAST twice during our 2008 match up.
  7. But injuries are also a problem for him, which is something the scouts took a hard look at I'm sure.
  8. True, but some of what happened to Lucky is his own doing this year. Injuries did hold him back, but the coaches said that he wasn't practicing like they wanted him too. Plus I think history is still on the side of guys who stay for their senior season. Especially for QB's, as more likely than not the ones that stay for their senior season are often much better pro quarterbacks.
  9. I'm not saying you or brasky are wrong, but until there is some hard evidence or "official" information on the matter and it gets released, then there is no reason to pursue this whole rape thing further. We should just leave it at tickets and be done with it. Also, going along with your number one, I'm pretty sure you can report something to the NCAA and allow it to be kept close to the chest.
  10. Well there were a lot of players taken this draft class that didn't even attend an NFL combine, and I mean A LOT. Somewhere around 4 in the first couple rounds alone.
  11. What's so unreasonable about the Athletic Department keeping this under wraps? Here is why I think it was a good idea this was kept on the down low until now. 1) It would be unnecessary attention to the program. I'm not saying ESPN would find this "breaking news", or anything, but why would a coach in his first year want to field questions/complaints about Cody Glenn? I'm sure he would rather just say "I'm not commenting on it" then actually have to deal with any mess that would follow. 2) It's better for Glenn. Why publicly humiliate him in front of the Husker fan base? Better it wait till he is gone and doesn't affect our team anymore for the news to come out. Now here is what else we know: Bo plays his cards close to his chest. He never directly points out anything about anything, and always gives broad generalizations in all of his interviews. I mean, how many times have we heard him say "he is a heck of a football player" or "he's a good football player"? He says the same thing and maybe changes a couple of words every now and then. Do we really expect him to change for any situation?
  12. The guy could recruit the hell out of anything, he really was a great recruiter. Now, as far as picking the right guys and developing their talent, that's a whole other ball of wax. He's like Weiss in Notre Dame, who once said that if a quarterback spent 3 days with him that kid would become a legend.
  13. Point taken, and agreed to some extent. I do think, however, that Callahan's 2006 team was a pretty decent team and although we didnt' beat any of the teams better than us, it was hard to get closer to doing so than we did. So.....Texas Tech and...that's it? We played VaTech closely..they're a pretty good football team. Va Tech wasn't ranked. True, but regardless, I feel just because they aren't ranked doesn't mean they aren't as good as top 25 teams. Even though I feel their BCS game was the least interesting and the team they played was slightly overrated, they were still as good as any football team we played and they finished in the top 20. Says a lot, imho.
  14. Maybe him and Stafford will be part of a rebuilding effort in Detroit! Hope not though, don't want them getting in the way of my Vikings.
  15. Nope because they are 100% true. The tickets thing was used by athletic department to divert attention away from what really happened. Come on do expect him to admit to statuary rape? He'd be put in jail. The only reason he was never charged in the first place is because athletic department and the booster dad kept things quite. I know nobody on here believes this but I'll see which on of you is still talking if/when the real story ever comes out. So you think TO and Bo are lying for Cody? I'm assuming the NFL teams checked the story with them. I don't see them lying to help a kid's pro career. Conspiracy theorists unite! Brasky is probably just trolling. Either way, considering I were to actually believe that YOU believe he committed rape, find me one actual peace of hard evidence. Considering all you have is hearsay/word of mouth, all I can do is hold myself back and not personally flame you because it is against board rules. Just know this, your position on this is a failure considering you have no hard evidence and board posters will take you much less seriously from here on out no matter what.
  16. The one chance we had at having a shut out last year got ruined by our backups in the New Mexico State game. No, I'm sure it was, but like I said this is a message board and most of what is said on here is done just for fun and to fire people up. It's not necessarily meant to be rude, but somebody just speaking their opinion. Just take it with a grain of salt, because I'm sure people on VaTech boards are saying harsh things about Nebraska as well. All fun and games Enhance89, HaHa... We have thick skin here in Hokie-land, and believe me, we are nowhere near as classy as the Husker fans.... In fact, as much as I look forward to having you all come to Lane, I am pretty sure we won't be as "friendly" as you all were to us. I am just giving you all a hard time for calling us Miss Trailer Trash. I am on lots of message boards, and unfortunately most of our fans are busy being obnoxious with the Bama fans and our conference rivals so we haven't been too busy with the Huskers... I am just excited about seeing the Huskers rise again. I was an undergrad at a Big 12 school (doing my PhD at VT), so I really want you to dethrone OU and UT... Sooner than later (no pun intended)!!! As for our spring-game. Tyrod looked great. 180+ yards passing (16-33) with 1 TD and 0 INT. Didn't rush much. But the big news was the play of redshirt frosh RB Williams with 150+ yards rushing/receptions. RB Evans did not play, and I think we are in good shape with the Evans/Williams backfield. WRs were great - all sophs this year. Special teams were horrible.... Missed PAT and FG, but mostly due to poor snaps. Got some extra tix for the fall so I will keep an eye on the Husker fan that gives us the least crap and there may be a ticket available.... Haha Sounded like a good spring game for you guys. Seems like a tough day passing but the good thing is that he didn't turn the ball over, which is always great. You said special teams was horrible, but how was coverage? Do you guys do live special teams (aka punts and kick offs)? We might have some problems on special teams as far as kicking goes. We have very experienced/all big 12 kickers (especially Henery), but our long snapper and holder are all new guys this year. How did defense show up? And how did back up QB's look for you guys?
  17. Seems like all the great coaches right now won MNC's in their second year (Carroll, Stoops, Meyer, etc.), but this shouldn't get us down too much if we lose this year. T.O. didn't win a MNC for nearly 25 years.
  18. The one chance we had at having a shut out last year got ruined by our backups in the New Mexico State game. 19. I'd have to argue for what another poster said. I think winning a MNC in year 2 has a lot to do with pieces falling in the right place. If we could have kept a lot of our starters from last year, it would have been more likely, but we have a lot of unproven guys at key positions. We would also need some serious help, and I mean serious help. Help in the form of USC and Florida losing enough games to the point of where they can't get in, because both of those schools would trounce us.
  20. I think there needs to be an emoticon that does... :wtfisgoingoninthisthread:
  21. Murtha and Potter had the best chances to go, according to numerous NFL draft reports. CG going is surprising, but great for him!
  22. Yeah, I can't imagine why anyone would think VT could beat us. I mean, a team with a returning starter at QB (who is 13-2 in his career) coming off a season where they won the ACC championship game and a BCS bowl game by a combined 31 points. Not to mention the fact that they're 30-4 at Lane in the past five years and we're bringing in a first-year starter at QB with almost no game experience. Oh, and they beat us last year in Lincoln. Let's be honest, FAU has a better shot at beating us. well let's really look at it that returning qb you speak of isn't that great he only completes 57 percent which is average at best and alot of his balls can be picked. and as far as being the acc champs well they won it because they are the best(maybe) and that says nothing.(it's like being miss trailer trash) and they beat UC so lets not pretend that's like beating usc or florida. "it's like being miss trailer trash"... Winning the ACC still makes the Hokie nation proud. Not only do you insult me as a football fan and a Hokie, but also fine programs like Miami, Clemson, and FSU - programs that have a long tradition of dominating college football. As with any conference, the ACC has probably not been where it could be for the last few years, but we still take pride in our teams and the sport we love! I am also certain that most Huskers would congratulate Cincy on their fine season last year. Having been to Lincoln last year (I go to every away game no matter where) I never met a single Husker fan that insulted us, before or after the game. Even after we "stole" a win we had people come up to us to thank us for coming to Memorial Stadium. As for our QB - he has developed quickly and don't forget that he was a true soph when he was in Lincoln last year. He has only started 15 games and has had to carry an extremely young offense. Although I would not compare our team to USC or Florida, we have put together 5 consecutive seasons with at least 10 wins. Not too bad for someone from the trailer-park! I look forward to seeing the Huskers again this fall - in fact, it is probably the game I look the most forward to because our trip to Lincoln made me a "closet" Husker fan, and I will dismiss your comments as a little too much excitement during the off-season. Here's my take on VaTech and the ACC. VaTech is probably the best team just above FSU, but let's not get started on saying the ACC is a great conference. Their a good conference, but out of all of them they are probably fourth best. And we're not insulting football programs on here, we're just having fun conversations and banter as a way to make it through the off season. Insulting VaTech or Clemson is something we wouldn't do/shouldn't do, but Husker fans don't like Miami or FSU, so in that sense we don't really care if we insult them or not. Also, and not to take away from what VaTech did last year, but their BCS bowl game was probably the least interesting of them all against a slightly overrated Cincinnati team. VaTech played a good season last year, and I'm sure they will be better this year like we will be, but Huskers fans should remember this: we only lost by five points and because of a couple of blowhead personal fouls (one being on our coach, and we all know Suh wasn't out of bounds when he made that hit. Had our defense been like it was when we finished the season, we would have walked away from that game victors. Both teams are close in comparison, so neither team is going to dominate the other team. It will be a close game like last year.
  23. One thing to point out as to why our secondary didn't look so hot in some of the game. First off, we already know that the teams were split up evenly, but one thing we haven't discussed a lot is the vanilla play calling. We ran mostly out of a 4-3 and didn't really change our defenses to combat the offense, similar to how the offense didn't change a whole lot to combat the defense. And when the offense is calling the same handful of plays for an entire game and they know which ones work on a base defense, it will prove to have good offensive numbers.
  24. Lol I like the Big XII Championship score..it means we either get shifty and go for two points after a TD or we get a 75 yard sack for a safety.
