  1. first of all, frazier was not a 4 year starter....... the difference between 4.3 and 5.9 is actually quite staggering as that is roughly the difference between a below average Iback and an above average Iback and in fact Tebow is running in a SPREAD option which should be easier to pick up rushing yards in as it spreads the defense out more than your traditional triple option. also as was discussed earlier in this thread, another reason why they call it a spread option is because they pass the ball more. when you pass the ball more you have a chance to get into rythme. we passed 14 times per game over TFs starting qb career whereas the gators with tebow over his starting career are passing 30 attempts per game while also getting more offensive snaps per game (and its not close) because they run NO HUDDLE! of course if Tebow gets to throw the ball more often he is going to have the better passing stats! and rushing yards per career with only 4.3 ypc only means that you had way more attempts. as for accomplished, you rattled off all of Tebows accomplishments in your last post! how many national titles he started for or didnt start for, how he has a hiesman and how he is gonna win another of both! so that is where accomplished comes into the picture, you put it there! your stats which show tebow as a passer and Frazier as a runner, which we already knew, really do not show anything. you need to watch both players to really appreciate just how good frazier really was. not only could he plow through players (which is the only thing tebow does when he runs) but he could cut and see the field so much better than tebow and its really not that close. To expand somewhat, but not really related to what B-rent was saying, this is sort of like comparing apples to oranges imho. You have Frazier, the head honcho of an option run offense. You then have Tebow, who is the leader of a spread option attack, an attack that passes far more than the option game does. It's important to understand that in an option offense, Frazier did perfect, because it isn't about him. The option offense is more about the running backs, the full backs, and play actions every now and then. The quarterback, generally, isn't supposed to do the brute of the work. I don't think it's fair to compare any of these guys. They all run different offenses, all were awesome in their own right, and comparing these guys will just throw us in a vicious circle. Statistically, Tebow and Young are probably better players, but how would we ever know for sure that Frazier isn't the best? There is a one decade separation between Frazier and Young/Tebow, and every year players get better and faster.
  2. Unless they are some god given talent (like Ahman Green was his true Freshman year), everybody should be redshirted imho.
  3. If Florida wins again this year it will be official: Tebow is better than Frazier. And that's fine with me, because we still had the best team for 2 years and the most dominant team ever. Teboverated has only won ONE national title! he was NOT the starter for the first one, it was chris leak! ESPN really BS's people and they believe it, Tebow is not a good runner and only a slightly above average passer at best. yeah he can get a first down on short yardage situations such as 3rd and 1, but so can any fullback! the guy does not cut well and he has almost no field vision. he will eventually be exposed as a system qb and them maybe some people will lose the Tebowners they have for him! Frazier won 2 NC's in 3 years. He won no Heisman award. Tebow has won the Heisman. He's started and won one NC. He may very well start and win 2 NC. And, he did play during a NC season. He could potentially be part of a team that won 3 NC in 4 years. It's going to be very difficult unless looking through the thickest of thick Husker glasses to not say Tebow had a better career than Frazier. It's all I'm saying. People could very well say that Frazier wasn't the starter in 94' as Berringer started more games that year than Frazier did. It's great for debate, but I don't think any of the 3 QB's discussed here (VY, TF, or Tebow) were the best college QB's ever. IMO, Brad Smith was the best college QB ever considering the stats he rolled up for a career. VY may have had one better season than Brad Smith, but Brad Smith's #'s were just sick. Then, you have to consider what kind of team he played on and what kind of a tool for a coach he played for. To roll up a 1,000 2,000 season is all but unheard of. To do it twice, phenomenal. and everything you just said points to Tebow being more accomplished! being accomplished does not make you a better player. Ryan Leaf was also very accomplished...... So was Hitler
  4. To add to that, it also has a lot to do with how the team is playing. Take ISU's Troy Davis from the 1990's (thanks for the name fix Blackshirt316). The guy was animal and racked up ridiculous amounts of numbers, yet he wasn't even one of the final 3 in contention.
  5. Are any ideas truly original? some are, like the fact that The ragin cajans were the first to use the huddle back in the early teens i believe(penn had figured out there hand signals so they set up 7 yards behind the ball and just explained the play there) But were they the first people to ever huddle together in the history of humanity? Sorry, I'm just finding reasons to be a pain in the @$$. Going back to my hole now.. Edit* On a side note, where the eff did killer cacti go? I miss that dude. Somebody should go to the Clemson board and tell him to get back over here.
  6. Don't they use laser systems now when tracking 40 times to get an accurate time?

  8. Here are, in my opinion, the biggest needs. 1) Quarterbacks. Now, obviously we have Lee for two years and Cody to follow, but other than that Spano is really the only other viable option at this point as Washington is going to need awhile to learn the playbook/get back into the quarterback groove. We need a recruit that can help challenge, compete, and provide nice depth to the position. If somebody goes down, we need a viable back up. 2) Wide Receivers. We have quite a few who could make a showing, but we are still lacking that big body guy. We don't have one until Kinnie comes in next fall, but we need other like him and Paul. We also need to start building some depth there since it is a very inexperienced part of the offense. Interesting stat here: not including tight ends, we only have 2 touchdown grabs total out of the returning receivers we have. 3) Offensive Tackle. We need some more depth and experience there, as many of the guy playing at the tackle position this year will be graduating in a year or two and we don't have many reasonable back ups quite yet. 4) I could keep going, but I think i'll finish up with Defensive Tackle. We have some depth there now, but once Suh leaves we have some big shoes to fill and not many to fill them with. The D-line is the heart of the defense and I feel that it needs to be the deepest and most experienced part. After all, the defense is a trickle down effect. If the line doesn't get it done it is up to the line backers, and if the line backers don't get it done it is up to the DB's. The better experienced the line, the better our defense will be.
  9. His rivals videos are pretty intense. He has some serious leg power, can make great cuts, and explodes through the hole.
  10. It's quite a change from 2007, when our players were never mentioned with some of the best in the country. We have a couple guys on both sides of the ball now that are getting compared to some of the best..it's pretty awesome.
  11. you mean like these? Oh, how I miss the epic CGI and technology from those type of videos in the 90's.
  12. I'm personally not a huge fan of his work, but I still think it would be interesting to go.
  13. What was this article about? I got distracted by the OP's sig

  15. Welcome Home isn't a bad idea either, tbh. Cochise has such great build up to it. Just makes you pumped up. It was my old high school's song for their version of "tunnel walk", and it was awesome
  16. So if Dr Tom was rehired tomorrow as coach, he'd start over (in your eyes) as Snyder has in your opinion? Dr Tom hasn't coached a game since you were a boy. funny stuff!! If Dr. Tom was rehired as a coach tomorrow, I would not rank him highly. I don't think it's fair because even though he was a fantastic coach for 3 decades, it's been over a full decade since he coached. Going off of what he did in the past, you'd have to put him as the best coach in the Big 12, but how could you justify it with him being gone for so long? I feel that this list was mostly generated based off of how they are doing currently and not their entire coaching career. If you based it off of coaching career, then you would have to put Snyder above of Mangino and Briles because of what he did in the 90's and early 2000's. Doesn't seem right, because as of right now we don't know how well KSU will do. IMHO any new coach to a conference should automatically be at the bottom of the list until at least a season of coaching is under the belt, especially if they haven't coached in awhile.
  17. rofl I love those people. Complete idiots but they make the boards so interesting.
  18. Me neither tbh. I prefer long term captains, because then it gives the guys a permanent person to look up to. It's very strange to think about. I mean, what if the U.S. changed Presidents and cabinet members every day?
  19. yeah, except for the skull and bones crushing the opposing teams logo.... thats gotta stay.
  20. Ahh yes. I read this article when it first got posted up. It's a good read.
