I'm not going to sugar coat it. I think that we're going to get rolled in Madison by a substandard Wisconsin team in a substandard division. Our run D is going to get steamrolled as they wear down. They'll stop pursuing at 100%, and that'll be it. Cue the fat lady. I'm sorry to sound so negative, but our team has mental issues when it comes to these games. We have the personnel and ability to curb stomp them in their own house, but there is just a lack of focus and killer instinct that keeps us from putting these teams away. I really hope that I'm wrong, because it really sucks to be an unabashed Husker fan living in Wisconsin, only to watch your team get rolled by the local boys. I'm still hearing about the jet sweep beat down.

I really think that Pitchford is going to be a very pleasant surprise this year (not that he wasn't last year). He could be a big post presence, and I know that he's been working on that aspect of his game in the off-season. Smith is going to be an instant contributor and an absolute gem in the long haul. I was so excited when he signed with us. Smart and athletic is exactly what we need on point. If only White could play this year.......but we'll be sitting pretty with him next year. It really seems like players flourish under Miles. Just look at all of these guys that weren't getting time and other schools and what our staff can do with them. I know that it was just an exhibition, but could you tell if Tai looked more confident? If so, and with Benny's shot improving, this could be an awesome year (and Miles is just getting started)!

Not feeling as hopeful against Wisconsin in 2 weeks. I can't believe how many miscues we had on offense. Pierson-El should be a much bigger threat than what he's been. When he gets the ball in his hands he's a badass and looks like he could take it all the way at any time. You've got that right. He's unbelievable for a freshman. That's one weapon that we need to use as much as possible.

Jesus Christ. This is friggin' PURDUE. Nebraska, with all of its resources, is supposed to be able to stomp this team with a 3rd string qb and rb and not look back.

I'm still not. It's gotten me out from underneath my rock but I'm still clinging, partly mostly due to the fact I'm no bball fan. If you would have watched the latter half of last season, you would have been highly entertained. There's something special happening in Lincoln. If you keep watching, you just might find yourself becoming a roundball fan. I also find the basketball game threads to be a lot more upbeat and entertaining than the football ones. Give it a chance.

The absolute ceiling for this team is finishing runner up in the CCG.

I've been asking why we don't for the last 5 years. We had one in the 90's--in addition to a HC with a Dr in Psychology. I don't think people will ever understand what a huge part both of these things played in our success. With the size of the athletic budget, it just seems like a small investment with a lot of return potential. How quickly we forget.

Beck is poor and needs to go as he continues to call plays we can't make. Hoping we'll get one.... I'm all for changing qbs. Beck's system obviously needs a more accurate passer. That's just it. Beck doesn't HAVE a system.

5th is a little more respect, but I definitely think that we should be above the Michigan schools. Miles is one helluva coach that is surrounding himself with other really good coaches. If opponents thought that we had a good defense before, wait until they play against a Molinari defense. Oh man....the best is ahead of us. We're going to be a handful for anybody.

Yeah saw that. Wish he would lock onto Westerkamp for a while and use Ameer as a decoy Westerkamp is a bright spot on this team. He's a gamer. I just wish that we could get the ball within 20 yards of him.

At least Michigan will be getting a shiny, new coaching staff and the renewed hope that goes with it.
