  1. I pretty much had to come when I heard who USC would be playing since one of my high school teammates played for Nebraska in the mid-late 70s (Isiah "I.M." Hipp). Hope to have a good time visiting with y'all. Go Eagles!
  2. Nebraska and South Carolina had 2 very good games in 1986 and 1987. Their coach, Joe Morrison, died after the 1988 season. He was an interesting character who wore all black and smoked on the sidelines.
  3. Reggie Arnold could start for a few Big XII schools. ASU knocked off A&M last year. Can't take them lightly.
  4. Reggie Arnold is a very good running back for Arkansas State.
  5. How about a Nebraska-Arkansas game? Arkansas is the closest SEC school to Nebraska and has a very nice facility. Like the Huskers, the Hogs are the only team in their state that gets any fan support.
  6. For those that missed it ESPNU will replay it all morning leading up to Colin Cowherd's radio show
  7. Since I'm from I.M. Hipp's hometown I'll list him as my favorite, but Rozier is the best alltime
  8. I'd agree Bama has more pressure than Kentucky. In Alabama all they have is football. When Bear died the state shut down. It was as if a president's funeral was going on when Bear was being buried. Kentucky loves its basketball, but it also has horse racing and other things in the state. Just look at the number of coaches Bama has run off since Bear's death.
  9. Don't worry Jen, I thought the exact same thing when I first read this thread
  10. 23. Bo Pelini(10-4 at Nebraska and overall)- In 2019 when we make this list Pelini might be in the top 5. There are few defensive minds better than Pelini and soon it will start to show in Lincoln. The Blackshirts will be back and Pelini will have Nebraska in a BCS bowl very soon. Pelini has led top defenses at Nebraska, Oklahoma, and LSU as a DC. Toughness is back in Lincoln and will stay there for a long time. http://www.dixiefriedsports.com/Top_100_Coaches_in_NCAA.html
  11. This list should be called the jobs with the most pressure to win. If I were making a list of the toughest jobs I'd have Baylor Vandy Iowa State Duke
  12. It's gotten Arkansas possibly the best athletic facilities in the country and at least the Hogs have 3 SEC division titles in the last 12-13 years. It's gotten South Carolina 2 HOF coaches in Spurrier and Holtz even though the program for 100 years has been a death trap for coaches. It actually killed Joe Morrison(coached against the Huskers in 86 and 87)
  13. That was a Saturday game. You are thinking about LSU playing at Mississippi State 2 years ago to start the season. These are the opening games on Thursdays since 2005 2005 Central Florida at South Carolina 2006 South Carolina at Miss State 2007 LSU at Miss State 2008 NC State at South Carolina 2009 South Carolina at NC State ESPN loves Spurrier and cowbells to open the season I guess.
  14. Thursday Nights are no longer just for MWC or CUSA teams. Just in the past couple years we've seen the following teams play on Thursday Auburn West Virginia Miami Southern Cal Texas Clemson Texas A&M Florida State Each of those schools are tradition rich programs and they weren't too good for a Thursday Night game.
  15. One thing all schools are learning if they are serious about being one of the topped ranked schools they need to quit scheduling the patsy's. SOS is everything now days, and you can think you have a good SOS until one of the big names on your schedule goes out and loses to Western Michigan or someone like that, then their loss comes back to bite you in the butt. Damn, I don't want to start rooting for CU when they aren't playing us!! Well hopefully that will change now that Bowden's gone. I totally agree. I want to go out and play you guys or someone else from the Big 12 or Pac 10. Every once in a while, we'll play Georgia or another SEC school other than SC. I was pumped that we got to play Bama this year, although it ended badly for us. In the next couple years Clemson has games with Ole Miss and Vandy scheduled.
  16. Art Briles is a great coach who I think will finally get Baylor in a bowl if he stays long enough. I don't see Nebraska losing to the Bears though.
  17. In a conference with so much offense, I'm thrilled that the Huskers will become the tough defensive team of the league. We have the best defensive mind in the Big XII, if not the country
  18. Nutt did an amazing job at the end of the year, he certainly could be #1
  19. I wonder how the list would look after the bowls. Would Pelini be #1 after Johnson got whipped against LSU.
  20. Playing Michigan and Ohio State would be fun, but what else would the move bring? It would hurt some Big 8 rivalries. Won't happen. If the Big 10 expands I'd imagine they'd add Missouri, Pitt, or Syracuse.

  22. I live in SC(hometown of I.M. Hipp actually) and you won't have any issues with Tiger fans for those traveling to Jacksonville. Yes, they'll remind you of the 82 Orange Bowl, but that was their proudest moment so its understandable
