  1. Just keep it respectful and don't say anything stupid when talking about recruits, and you'll be fine. Honestly, HB is one of the most polite forums out there, and filled with genuinely good people who can respect a recruits choice to make the best decision for them, and wish the kid well if that doesn't happen to be Nebraska. The whole Austin Sefarian-Jenkins fiasco over on Shaggybevo opened my eyes to what kind of scumbags these types of places CAN be filled with. Glad we're not that way. Keep it up HB! :koolaid2:
  2. Ehh... not really. Less disappointed kids when we drop the Bball team in a couple years. just kidding dude
  3. Hmm, I wonder if we took the team out to ride Go Karts last year. If Bo had shown some of the guys LAST year how to drive them, perhaps he would not have gotten that infamous call from Suh at 2 in the morning...
  4. The only problem with DVR is that you have to avoid all family, friends, and media sources in fear of them giving up the score. I know exactly what you mean, buddy. I go friggin' psychotic whenever I know there's a game that I recorded that others have already seen. I have literally yelled at my brothers to shut up if the even sound like they're going to let anything slip.
  5. Linky Dinky Dunkaroo Steve Ryan gives you his spring depth chart breakdown, then discusses our D and gives his us his current depth chart. Pretty basic but still a good breakdown. If anything, it threw a few names out there that we might have forgotten about, such as Jase Dean as a CB option. Here's to hoping that he's fully recovered from that Mizzou game last year. He could really provide us some depth... that's always good. There's a breakdown of the O too, I'm not going to post the link, but you can find it with out too much trouble I'd think.
  6. Breaking news... I'm going to be the one to break this one wide open. Leo Dicaprio commits to NU... And he's bringing his gun.
  7. if it's Klingelhoefer, that would actually be good news. I mean you never want to lose a guy to injury, but we've known Faron was going to be out for a while. If it is him, we can stop worrying and trying to identify who it is.
  8. Might as well throw in my two cents... again. I think too much is made of Aaron's relationship with Malcolm. While I don't really want to bring anything up (so as not to jynx it), in my mind, Texas is definitely a SLEEPER, just barely within striking distance, to land Aaron, not a FAVORITE. Any TU fan trying to tell you anything else is just a bit more delusional than your average TU fan.
  9. You hit the nail on the head with that last part. Pipeline stats are important, but you can get some very talented recruits from odd places in the country who are very interested in your program. As for your first part, I also noticed the CPU will automatically assign the wrong players into your depth chart. For example, the third guy on the depth chart at my full back position was a left tackle. My recruiting levels said I had three full backs and I didn't worry about it. In reality, my third full back would have been a really crappy full back. interesting, are you sure you were looking at the correct roster? I noticed once you red shirt a player- to actually view the FULL roster you have to select edit rosters? and then it will show possibly a redshirt FB. I am sure you knew this already but just throwing it out there. Is anyone else getting frustrated with the damn Awareness in this game??? I can have a 5th year senior with awareness of 50-60, I am sorry but if he has been in my program that long, he should easily be in the 80-90 range. I remember reading somewhere they were supposed to be fixing stats of players you recruit. Apparently, the further into dynasty you got, the worse the stats for recruits became. But, after reading the list of things they fixed with the patch released last week, I didn't see anything about player stats being adjusted. I feel your pain on this topic. It reminds me of the kickers in this game. The first kicker I recruited was the #2 kicker in the nation, yet in his Freshman season he was incapable of kicking a field goal longer than 42 yards. He just didn't have the leg strength. In the end, the best advice I have is to play close attention to the stats rather than the star ratings of recruits. For example, I recruited the #1 running back and #2 running back in one year. Yet once they made the official roster, the #1 running back had an overall rating of 85 while the #2 had an overall rating of 76. Pretty big discrepancy. Try your best to find a player that has high awareness to begin with. Kickers and punters are the worst. DO NOT JUST PUT WHOEVER HAS INTEREST ON YOUR BOARD. You have to check kick power/accuracy. Alot of the interested guys just have like C's or evcn D's in one of those areas. I personally prefer leg strength over accuracy. Accuracy has more to do with me than the kickers stats... I just have to have a smooth flick. Oftentimes, if all my kicking recruits suck and i need a kicker, I'll recruit a punter with a booming leg and convert him to kicker. And oddly enough, certain kickers have very high stamina/injury ratings. Does a place kicker really need stamina?
  10. Bell's at corner. I'm still not sure why he moved. If he's not a good blocker I naturally doubt if he's physical enough to bring down receiver that are bigger and taller than him. Not all corners are physical, in your face type guys, either. As hard as it is to believe, as that's not the type of player Bo builds his defense on, but we've got room for one or two of them. I think a perfect example would be Asante Samuel (huge Eagles fan here), a sometime atrocious tackler, very fineses guy, but he still makes big plays in the passing game. Not to compare Bell to Deion Sanders, but Deion was always thought of being a wuss when it came to tackling. That said, I think we all would be excited to have the next "Prime Time" on our roster. (huge Cowboy fan here ) Ouch, fun. I'll let it go though, we can still be buds . You guys gotta get that O Line to stop being so banged up and you should be alright this season. Anyway, with regards to Bell being a finesses guy, isn't that essentially what you want in a nickel or dime back? I mean, ideally, you always want guys that can tackle and cover, but if given a choice between a guy who can't cover and a guy who can't tackle, I'd take the guy who can cover as a nickel/dime back in a heartbeat. And I just got to thinking about this, but with the Blue injury, we are suddenly very short on DB depth. Gomes could convert back to corner, and I could see Green or Thorrell contributing if they need to, but right now, with Gomes at safety... behind Alfonso and Prince, there is no experience. Bell may be forced into action.
  11. We've done well... I'm pleasantly surprised. It's always nice to see the guys get some preseason work in before the exhibition season begins.
  12. Lol. Irie's post... Reason for edit: removed f word. Anyway, I will literally be blown away if Aaron does not choose NU. FSU and Cal both already have to running backs in this class, and Texas just got there guy in Malcolm Brown. It only makes sense... we have no RB committed this class, his brother is here, he knows our campus and school the best, I'd bet my house his relationships with our coaches far outstrip any other relationships with coaches he has at the other schools... I still feel like Cal and FSU were kind of token additions to his final four and his heart was really either with us or the home state school. We can only hope those reports about Texas not recruiting him were true. I'd say more, but I'm not jynxing anything. Take it to the bank BleedNUred, I'll be there waiting.
  13. Well, if he wants academics, kind of surprised he'd drop Duke. But I can also see why he would... Duke is HEAVILY slanted toward academics (i.e., almost irrelevant in football) and WVU's academics are... WVU's academics. You know what you're getting. I'd maybe say that from an academic standpoint, Nebraska clocks in at 3rd in his final four. The only school I could argue us ahead of would be USF. But, football wise, we are head and shoulders above the other 3.

  16. Lol nice irie. I didn't even finish the first line before I said "I bet Irie's thrown back a few tonight..."
  17. according to shaggybevo.com that was all just a misundertanding and they are going to get Aaron.....funny how it's a misunderstanding coming from Aaron's mouth Yeah, well, according to shaggybevo.com, Austin Sefarian-Jenkins is a total **** that ******* ****** Texas b/c he's a piece of ******* ****, and Mack Brown = God. I don't know if I like shaggybevo...
  18. I think one issue I'd like to bring up is the backup guard situation. I agree Williams and Henry have the starting jobs on lock, and Qvale is probably the top backup. However, after that, I wonder of Nick Ash is really the top option, based on what you guys say. I'd think either Brandon Thompson, Seung Hoon Choi, or Luke Lingenfelter are in the mix there. Also, what happened to Jesse Coffey? Hope he hasn't fallen off the face of the earth. Of the four from that recruiting class, I'd consider Qvale and Sirles the two more hyped players, and Ash and Coffey the sleepers. Of course, Qvale was kind of a sleeper too, having few other offers and being from North Dakota, but the way the coaches raved about him as soon as he got on campus kind of changed things.
  19. Wow, the second Anchorman quote I've seen on HB in as many days. Great movie.
  20. I'm beginning to warm up to Zac as our QB. Watching the Holiday bowl again, he actually is quite good at making the right decisions. He might not be the best QB in the world, but the guy knows when to simply toss the bowl away, avoid a loss, and get us something. Aside from forcing some throws (which is something that everyone does sometimes), Zac is generally a safe QB who thinks with his head. He is not afraid though, to take a shot down field if the position calls for it, and I'm anxious to see how he can chuck the rock with a healthy arm. And you guys are so right about how he handled last year. He never complained about being hurt throughout the season, he kept it under wraps for the good of the team. He simply went out there each week and tried his best to do his job, hurt or not. That's good leadership, and the team knows it, and respects the hell out of him for it. . The puzzling thing to me about our playcalling is WHY we called the option so much last year? I understand that zone read to the running back is a staple of Wats' offensive system, but Zac hardly ever kept the ball on that play. Cody did some when he got in there, but Zac's acceleration is so terrible that him keeping it just wasn't an option. So why, with that terrible acceleration, did Wats try to test the edges of the defense by calling so many speed option plays? By that I mean, true option plays where both the running back and QB go the same direction? Nobody respected Zac as a threat to keep it and do damage, so why waste plays like that? That was truly a head scratcher to me all year. Stick to Zac's strengths Wats... don't try to force a round peg into a square hole.
  21. What the hell, as long as we're digging up stuff we've left in the past, yeah, I'll do it... Whatever happened to HuskerJen? Profile
  22. And corncraze finally unveils his cutting edge, groundbreaking new offense: A two LG system! Great breakdown Zoogies. One can tell you put in a lot of thought. The only quarrel I have is that if David picks up his playbook quick enough, I think he'd be the dime backer and potentially a nickel backer. I think his speed and athleticism probably give him the nod over Compton, but it's totally contingent upon his learning the defense. You have to have a guy at that Dime backer that can be the field general and make all the calls and adjustments, as well as make plays. Dillard's renaissance last year had as much to do with the coaches trusting him as a commander on the field as his playmaking ability.
  23. I hope we don't need him and I'm not sure how he's been practicing, but Pensick surprised me in the spring game with his solid play. Wasn't Cole originally a Center recruit? And then we switched him to DT? Or was it the other way around? I forget. Anyway, Cole should be solid as the backup. We tried out Quenton T at C last year before he quit the team.
  24. Well, good for Florida State. They now have another great, dynamic player with which to underachieve and not even reach the status of the Big Boy in the rather weak ACC.
  25. From what I've heard, Sirles is proving to have better technique whilst blocking than Yoshi (and presumably being the better pass blocker of the two), while Hardrick is probably the better, more aggressive run blocker. It definitely will be a good one to watch, I voted for LT as the most competitive spot.
