  1. I wonder if his coffin will be lined with soft, Corinthian leather. Qui es, mas macho?
  2. ESPN puts one player on a sickeningly high pedestal every year; this is nothing new. I'll never forget the man-love they had for Michael Vick. Funny how that guy turned out. Likewise, for Eddie George, which probably cost Tommie a Heisman.
  3. If we'd been in a BCS bowl, I'd have been able to watch it on television, instead of on a computer. Good enough reason for me.
  4. I'd like to see who some of the other 4-loss teams played. All of our losses were against teams rated in the final top 20. I doubt some of the other teams there did it that hard.
  5. The BCS title game is too late (Jan. 8) to the point where it feels disconnected from the rest of the bowls. I wish they'd move it back to Jan. 1 or 2. I realize the offseason is a week shorter this way, but this game didn't feel like a college bowl so much as some kind of end of season exhibition. For all intents and purposes, I stopped caring after the end of the Gator Bowl anyway. As for the NFL.... the Packers stunk this year, so I don't get into the playoffs as much in years when they don't make it. I don't care who wins the Super Bowl as long as it isn't the Giants or the Steelers. I'd kind of like to see Arizona make it just because they never have.
  6. I like what they run, but I can't believe it works so well. Tebow looks so incredibly awkward every time he runs it.... it's a wonder the execution is there. I have to admit, I LOVE that play where the tight end follows the QB and takes a shovel pass, almost like an inverted option. OU never stopped it.
  7. Nobody seems to remember the freakish turn of events that led to that matchup. There were at least three teams above us, possibly four, in the polls, who all lost after us. In the end, Oregon probably should have been there, but I'm not convinced they would have fared any better.
  8. I watched it on justin.tv - at least until my monthly download limit kicked in midway through the third quarter, then I was forced to go to the radio feed. Oddly enough, the game turned in our favor at that point. Maybe it was a good thing.
  9. We'll do well if we win the division next year. Very well. We play at Missouri, at Kansas, and at Colorado. And we play at Baylor, which all of a sudden seems like a really hard game. Oh, and we have to play OU and T-Tech again, albeit on our fieldturf. With a new quarterback, it's going to be hard anyway. Not saying it can't be done.... I certainly wish we could play the first half of this season over again with the Huskers we saw during the second. It's unfair to call next year a writeoff so soon, but I'm prepared to chalk next year up as a second rebuild year if things don't go well, just because things seem really set up more for 2010 - by then you have an established QB, a more favorable schedule, and a balance of players recruited and tutored in Bo's system. But this year exceeded my wildest expectations already.... sky's the limit.
  10. I will miss: -Mental toughness -Ability to make clutch throws on third down -Can move around in the pocket -Puts mistakes behind him -Plays through injury (without being reckless) I won't miss: -The one stupid interception he throws every game
  11. Another team and they don't even show this call. "Oh Nebraska won... let's taint it and show everybody how lucky they were... we can't have them do anything on merit."
  12. If I were them I would have gone vertical earlier.... it was there. They scored on a couple of big pass plays.
  13. Just watch the second half, it's much better on the blood pressure. My dad hasn't watched it yet.... maybe I should tell him to fast-forward.
  14. Thanks to all of them. For not necessarily being the quickest, or strongest, or the most talented, or even the most fundamentally sound at times. But for playing through all of that, for playing your absolute guts out, all the time, even when things aren't going well, and showing the most mental toughness I've seen from a Husker team since Osborne left.
  15. Damn straight. They owned both lines of scrimmage in the first half. I'm still trying to figure out how we scored 26 points.
  16. Yeah, Niles had a shocker. Pulling a scholarship is a bit harsh though, isn't it?
  17. Like I said before.... live with the Ganz, die with the Ganz. That's what you get with Joe - he's out there making a double bogey or two, but then he'll make a couple of eagles. I don't think he had a good first half, but he was terrific on the two TD drives in the second half. One thing you can count on is that he won't mail it in.
  18. That game was the whole season in a nutshell. The first half was the September Huskers, the second half was the November Huskers.
