  1. Cleary the post I made was for effect but go look at any and all Husker message boards, every single one will have a thread about how coaches or the media are "out to get NU" or "dont respect NU" If you dont beleive me, I will be happy to post the links. It's not your point, it's your tone. You really have to speak that way? You could have made your point without that kind of language. It just makes you look childish. I am childish, so it probably fits really well. I really dont post all that serious, its not a second job for me. But you are the one inferring my tone, so really thats kind of on you. I was being funny or in your eyes not funny but still attempting to be funny. Sorry if it bothered you, I was trying to show of childish many of the responses have been.

  3. 100% agree! To many Husker fans want other coaches, players and media to bow down to the skers all the time and basically suck them off while rubbing their balls. They are not going to do that and nor should they. There was ssoooooooo much crying that ESPN and all the sports media outlets HATED NU. They dont hate NU its that NU was not important, there was nothing to talk about. Look this past week, every freaking sports outlet in America is talking about NU and Suh. When you win thats when good things start to get said about you. Pinkles comments were fine.
  4. I recall a statement by someone recalling The Florida team in 95 and the great strategy they will surely come up with to defend against the Huskers' offensive weapons. One astute fan said, "I could come up with a great strategy to contain the Huskers offense too, but you can't tackle the ball carrier when you are lying on your back." That pretty much summed it all up nicely. The OL was so utterly dominant, that the DL would just have giant gaping holes in it, and the LBs were too slow to catch our offensive backfield. By the way, the same was true in reverse...Our DL was in the backfield on every play almost. -ThePancakeMan I believe it was Mike Tyson that said it best "Everyone has a great plan until they get punched in the face"
  5. I just read on HP that this is the two year anniversery of Pedey being let go. WOW, that was already two years ago.
  6. Bama runs a power running game, I would hardly call them a WCO offense team anymore. USC might be the only team left in the top 10 that runs a real WCO.
  7. So many of you ESPN haters that cry all the time need to kind of shut up now. It is simple, when you win games you get pub, when you suck because of BC you dont get pub, the teams that just kicked your ass get pub, but not the team that is getting its ass kicked. Guess what, if the skers keep winning and if Suh keeps having games with either a pick or a sack or a few break ups, he will get even more pub and ESPN will continue to be all over NU. So finally please for the last time, ESPN haters, those of you that actually think ESPN is "out to get" NU, LET IT GO
  8. I think its more that the WCO is dead, high schools almost NEVER run it and most college do not run it now. Will Muschamp was quoted as saying, after his Auburn team smoked NU in the bowl game that "I love playing those WCO teams, they all script the first 15 plays but after that they are all so easy to figure out" Now, thats not word for word but its close. Think back to that game, the first NU drive was great, after that, they did NOTHING. College coaches dont want to waste their time trying to teach the complex WCO anymore when you can teach the spread, or zone read that puts your players in space and fits more players as well. You dont need a big huge running back, look at Noel Devine. You dont need a 6'5 235 pound QB anymore, you dont need huge WR's. The offenses now fit the players into their scheme instead trying to fit the scheme into their players. I have coached football for 10 years and I can say with all honestly that I have NEVER coached against a WCO team. High schools hardly ever use it, high schools have always tried to put the ball into the hands of their best player as much as possible, since the QB touches the ball each play it all starts there, so they love putting a good runner their and work from that point.
  9. The "maclin" thing lasts for about one year, maybe two. It would be like saying, "How come sweet DEs dont come to NU, Wistrom was the man" Its true, he was, but you can only feed off that for so long, you have to KEEP producing those kind of guys because kids attention spans for the history of a program is very short.
  10. 1. I agree with most of what you say and I think lots of times Husker fans on the road have a weird idea of how they should be treated, its almost like they think fans of the home team should come up to them and be like "wow, how does it feel to back such a great program?" and stuff like that. Yes I am a HUGE husker fan and alum, but thats how lots of the Husker fans act on the road, especially older ones. 2. I think a lot of times fans on the road look for all the bad things they can find, its usually more fun to look for the bad things and bitch then it is to look for the good things. 3. If you couldnt park closer to the stadium at UNL then you flat out f'd up. You can park at any frat house for 20 dollars. I just went to the 300th sellout game, got there 90 minutes before kickoff (a night game mind you) and went right to a frat house and parked for 20 dollars. That being said, if some dude said he had his worst experience at the Mizzo game, well then, thats his opinion so as a mizzo fan you that you are, you either have to live with it and let it bother you or not give a f#*k.
  11. If you are a coach, just call the athletic office, let them know who you are, who you coach for and ask where you can send the game film into or where you can email it to. They will be happy to hear from you, trust me.
  12. Gosh I just dont get it. I was told by sooooo many BCers that Bo and his staff didnt like recruiting and that they werent any good at it. hmmm
  13. This cant be correct, I have been told over and over by bigredboard posters that Bo and his staff cant recruit. hmmm something is wrong here, really wrong! GO BIG RED
  14. I think sometimes we have to many fans that expect announcers, coaches other teams and players of other teams to just gush over NU and always jock them up. You know how we have pride in NU, well they have pride in their schools too. Or in announcers cases they are usually just trying to do a job.
  15. That is EPIC failure! Could you imagine how lame that guy feels right now?
  16. This coaching staff and how these players have bought into what they are selling. No shortcuts, work hard, play smart, be determined and remember your teammates have your back. There are no excuses, it is all about everyone working together.
  17. Gabbert has the size and skills but we have all known kids like him. They seem to have it all but they always seem to get hurt and they dont seem to win big games. Its not an attack on him, not saying he is soft or something but some kids just get dinged up all the time, some kids just dont win big games.
  18. I thought they did a great job, the game was freaking terrible for 3 quarters and they still did a great job. I think there is such an espn hatred at times that people let it cloud them. They dont work for the Skers, they are not supposed to just jock up the skers the entire game and when its a Skers road game they will talk even less about them. They probably him Mr. Suh because its his last name, you almost always hear all players called by their last name during games. For those of you that were upset with the announcing I would like to know what you would have liked to have changed? I dont mean that in a sarcastic way I am just curious.
  19. Okay, so I have seen some mizzo posts that point out all the excuses already. 1. Suh is dirty and intentionally tried to hurt Gabbert. - ummm, what? Even if that was true, Weatherspoon punched a kid in the back that was on the ground, that is supposed to be an automatic ejection. NEXT 2. The refs blew a lot of calls and screwed Mizzo. - ummm what? Didnt NU have more flags thrown on them? What about when Gabbert was down on the 1 yard line but got a touchdown. Its amazing to think how close mizzos offense was to not scoring at all. Those are the two big ones that I have seen, you guys got anything to add?
  20. That's funny, I feel even better about you guys coming to Lawrence and Moo in KC. You realize KU does score points don't ya? Yeah, so did Mizzo.
  21. They dont need to, their team just did! GO SKERS
  22. Gabber is average at best. He put up good numbers vs the Illini, I could have put up those numbers vs the Illini (and thats hard for me to say, i grew up by U of I and i LOVE them. Gabbert proved what he is/was, an injury prone kid, with tons of "skills" and thats it. We all know or have known kids like that growing up, kids that were on your team and just looked like the best player ever, but they were always hurt, always had an excuse about why things did go their way. The NFL will still love him because the NFL is convinced that college coaches dont know how to coach QB's.
  23. Talk about learning from your mistake. Bo has his DL get hands up all day and it pays off AND did you see the OLB'ers line up in a triangle between the last man on the LOS and the inside WR, they have their back turned to the QB, which immediatly takes away the slant route that Misso loves off of. It was freaking brilliant.
  24. What the flip are you talking about? Lame? For what? I'm talking about a hometown sport. Living in Omaha and following....let's say....the NY Mets. Not the same level of passion if it's not in your hometown/state. You Husker fans have an inferiority complex all of the sudden. You got served hard core and you know it, hence the flip out now. I grew up for 18 years in IL and guess what I like the skers. Under your logic, thats "umpossible" to quote Ralph Wiggum. You feel lame, its not a big deal, there might be a time when you turn around and get me on a post but its just not on your last one. Gosh, what would a person do who grew up in a state that had two football teams or two basketball teams or two baseball teams, how would that person ever be ablt to have the same level of passion for all those homestate teams. See, the reason you old people had this "passion" for your hometown team is because back in the "good old days" you pretty much only got coverage of that team but now its not like that so people all over love teams from all over. I dont really have to explain this do i? NEXT
