  1. I'm assuming this one is a joke. The protagonists could see that locking Sloth up was wrong. The protagonists beat the "bad guy" rich guy. If anything these two things would be played up more now. Yeah, it was a joke.
  2. You can thank Tipper Gore for the Parental Advisory stickers. If you want to watch a smart person discuss that issue, find Dee Snider (or Twisted Sister) testifying in front of Congress regarding the Parental Advisory label. It's awesome. It was AWESOME when he smacked down that loser Al Gore.
  3. Season two was so bad. I still don't know what happened. Story, acting, screenplay, all of the above? What sucked the most? Yes! Honestly at times I could not even understand what they were saying. I still don't really know what it was about.
  4. Would you rather sit the bench at a big school or play a lot at a small school?

I think that by the end of my first year with the writing on the wall that I was not going to play, I would stay and enjoy my time at the big school.

I loved my big school experience at UNL. While I didn't play football, it would still be great to enjoy that big college experience and be part of the team.

But that wasn't the question teach. I might opt for the big school without playing too...But not if I was still putting in the time and effort of practice, lifting, conditioning, etc. Anybody doing the work should prefer playing to riding the pine. I'd be concerned about the person who didn't have that level of competitiveness in them.

  5. The Illini and Nebraska will be battling it out to see who finishes last in the conference this upcoming basketball season.

  6. It reminders me of the Colorado games. Like Colorado then, Iowa is after blood with Nebraska, but Nebraska does not seem to be interested. Ultimately, the feeling in Lincoln around Colorado week changed, in that the intensity of Nebraska for that game increased. I feel like that is what we are seeing with Iowa. Call it a rivalry or not. Iowa wants blood, so Nebraska needs to ratchet up the intensity to fire back. Could not agree more...if they don't pretty soon Iowa will no longer care about it because they will be kicking the hell out of NU.
  7. I want to see Mike Riley succeed. But if the Huskers do collapse and have another 5-7 regular season in 2017...it would be a difficult case to make justifying a 4th year. My expectations for this team are 3 losses or less. Let's start by breaking the 4 loss "curse." You're in for a big let down. New defense and a new QB. These aren't little things. Kinda seems like this will be the first year that we have a QB - No let down from that standpoint Do we? He wasn't recruited out of high school and didn't exactly light it up and lowly Tulane. These unrealistically high expectations are the reason why this board goes ape poop when we lose. Coach Osborne is gone and we're a middle of the road program. We haven't won a conference title since 2001. We are pretty good against Northwestern and Illinois. Not so much against Iowa or Wisconsin. Yes, not so good against Iowa or Wisconsin and last year's game against OSU was the most telling game about this program. Temper those expectations, fellow Husker fans. You'll feel better about the losses. If Tanner Lee won the starting job at Iowa or Wisconsin we would be laughing about it Possibly and 6 months from now we may be laughing at your post That very well could be true.

There was a sweet cover of it, sort of a punk cover. I can't remember who did it.

  9. I had never head of that movie, but I googled it. It's one thing to be gross and obscene, I think Teach is commenting about movies that were made in the past that were comedies, but people may not find them funny anymore because of the over-sensitivity and political correctness of today's society. A. I want to watch Kuso! B. ColoradoHusker is right
  10. This is so true. You know....it's strange though. We went through a long time when people on the big screen couldn't even be seen sleeping in the same bed. Then.....the 80s hit and these great movies were made. They really did have an interesting societal affect. Now....it seems like society has become more and more relaxed with sexual issues and other social issues. But....when it comes to movies, there are no movies like these made anymore in large part because so many people would find them offensive. The 80s movies were a very special and strange part of movie history. Very true! There are a lot of 80's movies that were probably a bit deeper than we give them credit for.
  11. Goonies...I know there are people that are offended by Goonies. 1. Asian kid "Data" has offensive name and is into gadgets and so is his dad. WOW. NOT FUNNY PEOPLE 2. Sloth is locked up in the basement. WRONG. NOT FUNNY 3. Wealthy land developer is trying to buy land from people that can't afford it so that he can build on it? GASP! EVIL 4. Don't get me started on the political commentary of prisons. The breaking out scene at the start clearly is pushing an agenda of overcrowded prisons because of our biased judicial system.
  12. I knew I was forgetting one. This was one of my favorite movies in college. This movie...if made today...would have to be basically a lifetime movie with a bit more "grit" and it would have to have a Q&A session with the actors after the screening with a big disclaimer about how if you need help you should talk to someone.
  13. Oh my god...Oh my god. I am in class giving a final and I am trying not to die of laughter! I can imagine a few people I know that want to be offended by this!

You'll feel better about the losses. If Tanner Lee won the starting job at Iowa or Wisconsin we would be laughing about it After watching what Jake Rudock did at Michigan and what Russell Wilson did at Wisconsin after a transfer, I am never going to laugh about transfers that have done very little at one place and then go to another school. Wilson did nothing at NCSt other than throw INT and for a low percentage. He left because he lost his job. The same goes for Rudock. All he did was lead Meechicken to 10-11 wins. I am going to wait and see what happens and not think doom and gloom. I am with you on that!
  15. Love it! Keep the goat alive?!?!? Ha
  16. I guess I don't have any issue with that. I wish my Dad was a decent college football coach making like 4 million a year and could hire me for probably 600K a year. I don't think most teams have room for a "Drinking Coordinator" Hahaha!
  17. It is a great show! You know who doesn't get enough credit for his acting...Michael Mckean. To think he was in Spinal Tap and now this...he is really a good actor.
  18. I guess I don't have any issue with that. I wish my Dad was a decent college football coach making like 4 million a year and could hire me for probably 600K a year.
  19. The sad part is that the Huskers have fallen so far that this is a thing we actually respond to now. Ugggg!
  20. Holy cow, great call on Risky Business! That movie would be rated NC-17 and there would be people protesting the theaters that DARED to show it! Porkys would never even be made! Could you imagine the outrage! I can still remember staying up late to watch Porkys on Cinemax, I think. Animal House would have a chance but clearly there would be some heavy editing to make some people happy. Weird Science, another great call! Man, I assume it would have to be rated R today and that again there would be a certain crowd that found a lot of it offensive.
